May 3, 2013I m getting the below debug log and can not get IP from my ISP. It is static IP address and there is modem in bridge mode for the adsl line.

Feb 11, 2012I've got problem trying to connect the CISCO-887VDSL/ADSL OVER POTS ROUTER to internet. Only got the LAN part working.I'm trying to setup PPPoE with dynamic IP Followed CISCO's documentations but the commands used were not recognized by the router.

Mar 19, 2012I have recently gotten a cisco 1941 router running version 15.1(3)T, and am trying to configure the router as a PPPoE server for access via a vlan on one of the gigabit ethernet ports.I currently have a cisco 2620 router (version 11.3(2)XA4) with the following relevant configurations:
vpdn enable
vpdn multihop
vpdn domain-delimiter @ suffix

vpdn-group pppoe

I am trying to duplicate this (all but IP addresses) on the new router, but there are some options that do not seem to exist in this particular software/hardware combination. Specifically,
vpdn-group pppoe
accept-dialin
protocol pppoe
does not accept "pppoe" as a protocol, only allowing l2tp. What has changed, and what the proper configuration is.

I followed the instructions given on the Edimax manual, and while my devices (iPad, laptop) got connected to the new repeater network, I could not access the Internet from it. I may be wrong, but the instructions on the Edimax manual seemed to be for a DHCP connection. Is there anything different I need to do to configure the Edimax repeater on a PPPoE connection?My router IP ("Local IP address") shows 10.10.0.1 instead of the "192.168.1.1" that all the documentation online seems to suggest.

Aug 29, 2012I Have a Cisco 1941 router which had its GE0/1 port burnt out and we have since plugged in a module with 4 fast ethernet ports. I need to reconfigure the router such that at least one of the Fast ethernet ports can server the purpose of the GE0/1. GE0/0 connects to our Service provider and GE0/1 connected to the inside network.Currently, while connected to one of the ethernet ports, i can telnet into the router on the address 192.168.29.1. when i'm on the router, i can ping our remote site, network address 192.168.24.0 with no problem, but when i use the command "Ping 192.168.24.0 source 192.168.29.1" there is no response.

Mar 8, 2013I have rather huge connection at home. DL speed 80Mb, UL speed 3Mb.When I connect my PC directly to modem and configure PPPoE connection, I get 81Mbits/sec. When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.

I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?

The point is, when configuration is done and PPPoE client is directly connected to the interface, SR520 doesn´t respond to incoming PADI. PADI is not shown in PPPoE debugs (debug pppoe events, packets and errors).On the other hand, I get the PADI capturing packets with wireshark (so PADI is being sent) and the same configuration on other router works fine.

I can ping it from local network behind giga 0/1 but i can't ping it fro outside, how can i do this?

Jan 2, 2013I just switched to DSL from cable internet and am having some trouble setting up my router with the new internet service. DSL modem-->Router-->Network with PC and PS3
ISP is ATT
DSL modem is a TP-Link 8616
Router is a D-Link DIR-628
I put my ATT username and password into the router but it never completes a connection to the internet. I was able to create a soft PPPoE gateway connection through my computer using my username and password, but I want my router to do this, not my PC. How do I get my router to connect directly to the Internet connection rather than having my PC connect? My setup would be fine as-is if I just had 1 computer but I also want to go online with my PS3, and it won't connect like my PC will, even after putting the username/password in.

May 13, 2013I get stuck in one case. One of my customer has two FTTH lines. I have to config PPPoE in routers. In one line I config succesfully, but one line never up. I call to ISP they ask me to config extactly VLAN id 10 in the physical subinterface. But in subinterface there is no command "pppoe-client dial-pool-number". I check the old modem FTTH, they also config VLAN 10 in Wan interface. I tell ISP why we have the same two FTTHs, but two differrent config ways. ISP says because the two line run in two different infrastructure, two different devices. I don't know how to do now? stay in customer side or ISP side. Here is my PPPoE config:
