Is there a wireless router available that will support a free dynamic DNS provider such as [URL], without the need for custom firmware?
I have a device that requires DDNS, and I do not want to mess with firmware updates. I've already bricked a router trying to do that. So I'm looking for a replacement router that requires little to no modifications to use a free DDNS provider.
dynDNS (dyn.com) doesn't offer any free version of their service anymore. Without using 3rd party firmwares: Is it possible to use other free DDNS services like no-ip for DDNS and if not, will there be an update soon that includes free DDNS hosts?
I have an E900 connected to my LAN acting as a wireless access point (router functions disabled). Can I use the DDNS feature of the router in this configuration? I attempt and get ‘No Internet Connection’.
Just purchased an E2000 (Firmware version 1.0.03) to use with DDNS. Much to my surprise there seems to be a problem with saving the password at the configuration screen. [code] With the above settings entered and the Update button pressed favorable results are obtained; the router reports that DynDNS.org updates okay. However once the "Save Settings" button is pressed an update fails with the error "Authorization failure bad ID or password".Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is the password field limited to certain characters?
The E3200 router supports DDNS updates to DynDNS.org but I'm unable to determine if the password is sent securely or not. According to their website, [URL] The API works over HTTPS and HTTP. How do I know which protocol is applied when sending the password?
i have a cisco 892 router that is behind a NAT/ROUTER/DHCP device of the ISP.i need to configure DDNS but i get a privat ip on the Cisco "WAN" interface. i need a local ip/port to be available from the outside.i have configured de ddns service methode (Dyndns) [code] This wil send the private ip of de "wan" interface and that wil not work. <A> in de connection string wil be my private wan ip i get from the dhcp of the ISP .... ik can add a static rout on the ISP, but can not disable the router function (like bridging....) is it possible (with script or someting, MY IP LOOKUP) that the cisco router know's his real public ip, and that this ip is used to update Ddns ?
Which routers support SNMP? I need to track usage coming through our network/router. Our internet co claims we are using at least double what our computer tracking software says. We currently have the E3000.
I am in a small office and we have a Buffalo NAS being used. Configuring it was fairly easy, but recently it just stop letting us have web access. My External and Internal Ports were 9000, but for some reason now my router will not even show that there is a 9000 port and even if I port forward it. It does no good what good possibly be keeping this port invisible after it was being used the last couple of months. I called my cable company and they said they are not blocking it. But right now I cant access the server from a remote location.
I'm looking for a device which will allow me to forward all internet bound traffic through a L2L IPSec tunnel from branches to a central hub and internet connection.
I've recently purchased a RV120W(as a test branch device) which i've tried to get working with the ASA5505 at the central site. I can get the VPN to come up but can't manage to get the internet bound traffic through it. Reading up on the issue, it looks like full tunneling or IPsec wildcard forwarding isn't supported on the RV120W and RV220W devices [URL] The source mentions that the RV0xx series supports this feature, however one of my requirements is wireless on the device.
Any device which supports this rather than just the standard split tunneling, alternatively a workaround which will allow me to use RV120Ws at branch sites? Would an SRP521 support what i'm trying to achieve?
I have a WRT54G router V6, and I am wondering how many wireless connections it supports? Because, I have one wired connection and whenever I try to connect more than 4 wireless devices a device will get booted.
I would like to ask for a cisco wireless router that supports captive portal. I notice that WAP321 supports this but what other additional units should be added in order to accomplish this. Client wants the user to authenticate first and also to see who logs in.
I just had to get rid of a bad DIR-825 that I replaced a trusty old DIR-655 with and now I'm back. Anyhow, I can't seem to make the DDNS setting stick in the router. All of the information is correct, but it doesn't seem to want to login. When I click the enable check box, it tries connecting and then greys out and doesn't connect.
I have an Internet link, connected to my Cisco Router. The package I subscribed for comes with a dynamic IP Address. I was told, if I need to remote access into the Cisco Router, I need to enable the DDNS feature. Can this be done on a Cisco Router?
Segregate Model STAA1500100 works fine in USB Port of computer but Cisco Connect does not recognize the drive when connected to USB Port on Router. Drive does low beep beep every few seconds. The Router firmware is 1.0.03 build 14.

would it be possible to add other DDNS providers to the router menu?E.g. I use dnsomatic.com as DDNS service (pretty much the same syntax/protocol as DynDNS, but free and more flexible).

I just set up DDNS for my home, and also set forwarding port 5000 for my NAS with an specific IP address 192.168.1.xx. Then, I use my office Internet to call DDNS xxx.dyndns.org:5000 to connect the NAS in my home, It is working OK (from outside to home) However, if I call xxx.dyndns.org:5000 by my home Internet, it is not working (from inside home to home). But if I directly call NAS' IP address 192.168.1.xx:5000, it is OK to reach it. So I think, DDNS used behind TD-8970 (inside home) is not working. TD-9870 is not forwarding port.
I don't know what do I miss in setup this WD-8970.
My previous Zyxel wireless router modem can allow me to us DDNS behind it with out any extra setting. Is it possible that there is still some bug in Firmware of this TD-8970?

How do I test my routers ddns? My computer went down. So, my adsl ip address changed. I caused the modem/router to reboot. But the new ip wasn't sent to the Host (dyndns.org). I had to update my ip manually on [URL].
We are using Cisco 1941 Router as CPE where we wanted to trap CPU, Memory & ISYSTEM MIB. The same we are achiveing using SNMPV2 but when we tried using SNMPV3, there is no response for these MIBs.
We tried to configure SNMPV3 using below Link but still there was issue. There was response fr [URL]
Wanetd to know SNMPV3 MIB are supported for Cisco 1941 Router IOS Code universalk 15.2(3)T1 & Data License. When we tried using Cisco IOS MIB Locator, we are not able to see any MIB for SNMPV3. whats is that mean. Does this Platform + IOS Support SNMPV3 or not.
Below is the Snapshot from Cisco IOS MIB Locator for said image.
I have a small network of about 12 Mac's running OS X, about 20 or so iOS devices and a OS X Server. Currently i have a Cisco SRP547W which works fine when we're all wired in, however we have connection issues when trying to access the server over Wi-Fi. I'm lead to believe that this could be a result of the lack of support for Bonjour within the router. What might be a solid alternative?
I work for a non-profit agency and a donor gave us a generous donation of used Cisco equipment. One of the items is a SM-VAM2+. We tried it in a 7206VXR chassis with a NPE-G2 running 12.4(24)T6 and the router keeps barking that the SM-VAM2+ is not supported in the chassis. We have done searches on the Cisco web site and Google and there is no information regarding the SM-VAM2+ at all (all of the references are for the SA-VAM2+).
The question is if the SM-VAM2+ is supported on the 7206VXR with another version of IOS or what router supports the SM-VAM2+?
I have a Linksys WRT54GL Router. I'm open to getting another router if it won't suit my needs.Which firmware should I install?Which version/build of the firmware?Any additional modifications I should make to the firmware?
Requirements:Connect an external hard drive to the router, so that any devices connected to the router can access files from the hard drive.Run an FTP server (with SSH) on the router, so files on the external hard-drive can be accessed from anywhere.Run VPN, so that certain computers can access the hard drives over VPN.Run a BitTorrent client on the router with the files stored on the external hard drive.
My 2691 Router has already 2 serial cards WIC-1DSU-T1 installed, When i install the 3rd serial card and reboot the router, it detects the 3rd card installed but 3rd card has no light.
When i do sh ver it shows 3 cards installed.
When i install this 3rd serial card to other Router then light shows on card and it works fine
So i am thinking if 2691 Router only supports 2 serial cards?

The product manual of TD-W8951ND V4 states that it's supports MAC spoofing. But in the product itself, it is nowhere to be found. I tried contacting the customer care via email but they are too lazy to respond. If they disabled this feature then why in the world they mentioned in the manual. I double checked the manual before buying this model. Now I stuck with it.

I'm interested in purchasing this router but I need to know how many clients it supports. We currently have a normal adsl wireless router but after about 20 clients it stops accepting anyone new.

A refurbisched WS-C3750G-24WS-S50 that we have send to our client should support 50 LAP (the unit says WS-C3750G-24WS-S50 at the back of the unit). Also the "show version" of the 3750 says WS-C3750G-24WS-S50.
He upgraded the WLC software from 4.0 to 5.0 then to 6.0 and finally upgraded to 7.0 now claims the web-interface only shows 25 supported access-points. We never checked the cli from the WLC before the upgrade.
Also he uploaded a old config file from a other S25 intergated WLC controller .
1) What could be the reason for this issue ?
2) How does the upgrading from 25 to 50 LAP work ? Is it like the PIX/ASA with a license key ?
3) When you upgrade the WLC sofware you only use a piece of universel code like the IOS right ?,can it cause a integrated WLC to loose the support for the 50 LAP ?
4) Can you use a config file from a S25 with out issues ?
5) What part-ID do we need to purchase when we want to upgrade a S25 to a S50 ?
