My 2691 Router has already 2 serial cards WIC-1DSU-T1 installed, When i install the 3rd serial card and reboot the router, it detects the 3rd card installed but 3rd card has no light.
When i do sh ver it shows 3 cards installed.
When i install this 3rd serial card to other Router then light shows on card and it works fine
So i am thinking if 2691 Router only supports 2 serial cards?
Was wanting to know if these cards are compatable with the new 3945 ISRs or if their is a unique command that has to be run to recognize these. why I'm using these large routers with a T-1. Its too long of a story.

I just bought two 1760's off eBay to create a home lab. I would like to connect them together but am not sure how. Instead of Wic T1 cards that connect with a serial cable, they are using a WIC-1DSU-T1 cards that have ethernet ports.
I haven't been able to find out much about these except that they connect with something called a T Crossover cable. I assume this is just an ethernet cable with the pins connected in a certain way but am not sure. Are these the same as a standard cross over ethernet cable or something else?
I was wondering if i can enable url filtering on my 2691 or 2651XM routers so that if someone visits any website i can see that under router logs. right now i am using kiwi syslog that logs the router activities.

We have a broad mix of equipment (A Catalyst 6509-E at the core, a combination for Cisco 2691 & 2811 routers, and a whole lot of Catalyst 3500, 3550, 3560 switches at a hundred locations. Where would I begin? Would I need to define routing for the multicast IP addresses (224.0.0.0)? Would I need to setup interfaces & IP networks where each multicast device is located like I would for a new IP subnet?

We can see that 2691 and R4 are BGP neis and 2691 has 200.1.x.x routes in its route table. My question is why from 2691 router i am unable to ping any route learned by BGP from R4?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a WIC 1DSU-T1-V2 card into a 1841 router to add to a multilink bundle. I inserted it in Slot 1 and powered up the router and there was a new serial interface showing in the config automatically as s0/1/0. I was able to get it setup with ppp multilink and added to the multilink group. The problem is I need to do a sh controller or sh service-module to see if there are errors happening (I'm using this card as a replacement for an interface that was giving errors with this line before). I can do a sh s0/1/0 and that works but I can't see deeper. I found it odd that the serial port just appeared in the config when I booted without having to do anything, if this is correct behavior and how I see the Controller or CSU info for troubleshooting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DC topology based on 2 layers, access and aggregation, based on 2 pairs of N5548Ps, both without L3 Daugher Cards. My intent is to use the aggregation N5K pair as L3 inter VLAN layer, so I configured all the VLAN default GWs there. The 2 layers are interconnected via vPC, in a double-sided vPC topology for some N2Ks and some vSwitches. The point is that, despite connecitivity is working fairly ok, for some applications, like file transfer via either FTP or HTTP, between hosts in different VLANs, the performance is too poor. The file transfer starts ok, but after a while it becomes lower and lower. ICMP is working, but I can see some strange random behaviour, like having some packets taking more that 20 ms (sometimes 40 or more), whilst average is 2 ms.
I read through some articles saying that until you don´t have the L3 license (the one coming with L3 Daughter Cards) you can expect some weird behaviour on L3 level. Is that true?. What can I do apart of purchasing L3 Daughter Cards?. Can I enable L3 Basic license at the moment (I don´t need dynamic routing for now).

I have a 3825 router running 12.4t IOS. I installed DSU/CSU part number HWIC-1DSU-T1 in the router and it does not recognize it. Is this the right card for this router? Is there anything I can look at to determine the issue? I think the router only has 32M RAM. Below is a show hardware. Card is still currently installed.

I have a Cisco 4500 Sup 6 engine and I have two 48 port fiber line cards installed. When I do a show interfaces I do not see any of the Fiber cards. This is a new out of the box 4500 and I installed the Sup 6 Line card in Slot #1, And the two 48 port Fiber cards in Slots 2 and 3. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two data centres connected via a L2 DWDM, my manager wants to look into using OTV to get rid of the layer 2 broadcasting issues.
Problem is the DWDM is 1000BaseSX, which is only supported on the N7K-F132XP-15. (and the N7K-M148GS-11 but that doesn't support FCOE, so many bloody caveats). From what I can gather OTV is not supported on the N7K-F132XP-15.
Is it possible to terminate the DWDM on the F1 card & loop another port from the F1 to a port on the N7K-M148GT-11 & run OTV on the M1????
Either using VDCs or just an isolated VLAN on the F1. Is there any better way to do this? Hardware has not yet been purchased.
We need to move some line cards around on our 4510. The top slots have a 24Gbps backplane while the lower slots are limited to 6Gbps. Poor planning on our part has left us with installing a 10Gb line card in one of the bottom slots. I'd like to move a couple of the cards up top, to the bottom.
My question is simply will the switch magically preserve the configuration for those cards and change the slot number for me or will I need to reconfigure the interfaces for those cards I move?
I have a requirement to upgrade some line cards in our 4510R-E chassis to ease some oversubscription due to the 6Gbps limit.
At the moment my plan is to upgrade three cards from WS-X4548-GB-RJ45 to X4648 to get the 24Gbps per card.

I would like to know whether WOL is supported on a N7K with 6.x code and F2 line cards. I also would like a how to for this. If it is not supported will an ip helper address to the broadcast address of the destination vlan SVI will suffice to get it workinng. If so I can restricht the forwarded broadcast to only the wol traffic.
