Cisco WAN :: 1841 Router - Can't View WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 Card To Troubleshoot
Jul 13, 2011
I recently installed a WIC 1DSU-T1-V2 card into a 1841 router to add to a multilink bundle. I inserted it in Slot 1 and powered up the router and there was a new serial interface showing in the config automatically as s0/1/0. I was able to get it setup with ppp multilink and added to the multilink group. The problem is I need to do a sh controller or sh service-module to see if there are errors happening (I'm using this card as a replacement for an interface that was giving errors with this line before). I can do a sh s0/1/0 and that works but I can't see deeper. I found it odd that the serial port just appeared in the config when I booted without having to do anything, if this is correct behavior and how I see the Controller or CSU info for troubleshooting?
Trying to get on internet in Windows 7. Have connected to wireless network. Am hardwired to router and yet cannot connect to Internet. Wireless Network Connection 2 is not connected and therefore not going to the Internet
My 2691 Router has already 2 serial cards WIC-1DSU-T1 installed, When i install the 3rd serial card and reboot the router, it detects the 3rd card installed but 3rd card has no light.
When i do sh ver it shows 3 cards installed.
When i install this 3rd serial card to other Router then light shows on card and it works fine
So i am thinking if 2691 Router only supports 2 serial cards?
why I can't use cisco ehwic-3g-hspa-u card in cisco 2800 series and 1841 series router?documentation said that it should work with that devices but when I installed it, it doesn't work even as device i can't see I am using cisco latest ios advance ent. 15.1(4)M4?
i have a 1841 cisco router and i recently purchased a 1 port HWIC wan interface card. My problem is that I cannot see the interface in my config file. Is there something i am missing?
I have a 3825 router running 12.4t IOS. I installed DSU/CSU part number HWIC-1DSU-T1 in the router and it does not recognize it. Is this the right card for this router? Is there anything I can look at to determine the issue? I think the router only has 32M RAM. Below is a show hardware. Card is still currently installed.
When two Routers Models 1941 (Main Router) and 1841 work connected with HSRP, and a second LAN card is added to each one of them If i connect the GE 0/1 and Fe 0/1 of each of one of them To FireWall1 (in cluster with FireWall2) AND i connect the second LAN (Added) of each one To FireWall2 (in cluster with FireWall1) If FireWall1 will failure , How can Router 1941 know, to move traffic from GE 0/1 to the second LAN card connected to FireWall2 (which is in charge now, by cluster definition)
I've been given an 1841 with a 3G HWIC card installed to test with. I need to set up some sort of VPN to our ASA, the problem is though these 3G cards get a random public IP, so what options do I have to create a VPN tunnel from this router to the ASA without the 1841 getting a static public IP?
I have 3725 router with internal CF and external slot for CF. I tried upgrading and ended up deleting the iOS version on the internal flash, and can not now put the iOS back!! I turned it off.... so there was no active iOS..
I have tried formatting the CF card on an 1841 but the 3725 won't read it. It is obviously stuck at ROMMON
What is the correct way to format a CF card so my 3725 will read it and I can get an iOS back on it!!
my office is looking in ordering a HWIC-1FE to supply our cisco 1841 router with a second ISP connection. i wanted to find out if this card support load balancing and fail over? not sure if fail over is the right terminology so ill explain, i need it so that if one ISP connection goes down (as it does often) it fails over to the second ISP.
Today I got a pack of 7 Cisco T1 DSU/CSU WAN Interface Card (WIC-1DSU-T1-V2). I installed 6 of them (4 on a 2811 router and 2 on an 1841 router) and none of them would light up, show up in show controllers, or show up in show ip interface brief. Is there something I have to do aside from just inserting them in like getting software or entering in certain commands? (I installed the cards while the routers were powered off).
I have a remote site that still utilizes a single T1 connection to me. For multiple reasons we had to scrap the old T1 and have a new one put in. The old T1 resided on a T3 as channel 25. The new T1 is a standlone point to point. I removed the old config from my 7301 and programmed my 3725. I cannot figure out what is going on but the interface stays down/down. There is no loopback turned on, either manually or by the carrier. The AL LED stays amber regardless of whether or not I have a cable patched down. The CD LED remains green when I patch a cable down. LP is not light.I am using a straight through Ethernet cable to connect my 3725 to the smart jack. If you look at the show output below you will see DCD and CTS is down. Since the remote end was working and I just had the tech move the patch cable from one smart jack to another I am assuming the problem is on my side or with the carrierI already tried changing the clock sourced between internal and line. I also swapped out the WIC card for another one. I don't usually program T1 connections. [code]
Was wanting to know if these cards are compatable with the new 3945 ISRs or if their is a unique command that has to be run to recognize these. why I'm using these large routers with a T-1. Its too long of a story.
I have been in charge of CW and now LMS 4.1. Since I am not a system engineer in profession, it has always been difficult for me to understand how to keep databases and log files in order and how to troubleshoot system related stuff, without causing any problems.I mean that besides setting jobs (device discovery, netconfig, usertracking, archiving and the like), what else do I need to check on a regularly basis, which jobs can I delete with safety, what kind o log rotation should I configure? For example, I have noticed that the ConfigMgmtServer.log is quite large (1,2 Gbytes).
I have an adsl router and windows 7 ultimate. The connction status sometimes show's limited connectivity when I click on disconnect and connect again it prompts for troubleshoot connectivity problem, on clicking this it runs a few checks and brings up a window saying connectivity has been fixed and then my internet work's fine. This problem sometimes does not occur all the time. Sometimes after i switch on the router and then the wifi switch it connects just fine.
I have a NM-4A/S serial network module which I suspect is having problem on a Cisco 3640 router. Is there a way which I can test the async ports out without connecting to any other devices? [code]
I just bought two 1760's off eBay to create a home lab. I would like to connect them together but am not sure how. Instead of Wic T1 cards that connect with a serial cable, they are using a WIC-1DSU-T1 cards that have ethernet ports.
I haven't been able to find out much about these except that they connect with something called a T Crossover cable. I assume this is just an ethernet cable with the pins connected in a certain way but am not sure. Are these the same as a standard cross over ethernet cable or something else?
I'm having a really annoying problem which is making my laptop almost unusable and a hassle to use. My wireless network adapter will suddenly get "limited connectivity", won't connect to the internet but will still get the router.Disabling and then enabling it will cause my computer to freeze, requiring a hard restart. The same with troubleshooting. The only thing which fixes this is a fresh reboot, however it then occurs again within the hour.

I am trying to setup 4 cameras to view with remote live view. I set up my server with IP addresses of 192.168.1.80 .... 85. The screen has only the option for 1 video channel. I have seen on-line screen shots that have options for channel 1 through 8. I want to assign each camera to a different channel so I will be able to use remote live view to show all 4 cameras at the same time. I can only show one at a time. Do I need a different version than 3.3 or some obscure windows 7 setting?
We are currently moving from 1841 (EOL) to 1921/1941 routers. According to the module support doc [URL] this HWIC-1DSU-56K4 card is supported. We have tried both the 1921 and 1941 with the cards without any luck.

I have two WLCs (5508 - v7.0.220 and 2106 - v7.0.116) that were NMSP connected to a MSE (v7.0.201.204) according to WCS (7.0.172.0)The MSE reloaded (Actually a reload command from WCS hung the MSE and it hard to be hard rebooted) and I ran into a NTP issue with the MSE running GMT timezone and WLCs running GMT -8. This was highlighted by the NMSP status testing tool. As a quick solution I changed both WLCs to GMT. The tool now tests all green, but the NMSP status remains Inactive for both WLCs and I have no client or tag information flowing into WCS.
My monitoring tool is reporting alerts for high cpu utilization on Nexus 5010.Image is 4.1(3)N1(1) Only command supported on this code is sh proc cpu.The output of which does not really tell what is the current cpu utilization. How do i troubleshoot the cause of high cpu on nexus switches.
I have an Acer aspire one netbook, model D255 which operates on Windows 7.Having trouble connecting to wifi connections. It worked fine initially, I tried turning the wifi switch on and off, it tells me that there are no wifi connections available, however everyone else Is able to connect via Wifi on their computers and myself without a problem on other devices. On troubleshooting it's says - that an Ethernet cable is broken or not plugged in properly, and is unable to fix the problem, as obviously I am not connected via any cable.I looked in network and it says that the Ethernet cable is unplugged and does not show any available networks.
How to view all network traffic on your router not just your computer? Using wireshark. Window 7 and Ubuntu.Without using any enhancements like airPcap or Turbo cap.
I have a Cisco 2610 series router(Version 12.0(5)T1, c2600-i-mz.120-5.T1), which has a network module inserted. I would like to view the model of this network module. There are no "show inventory" or "show platform" commands. "Show version" doesn't list the network module as well. In addition, it appears to have a "show c2600" command, but this doesn't display any hardware information.
My laptop is an HP zv6000"Pavillion" running XP SP3. I can't veiw any wireless networks in network connections thought the laptop is sitting next to it. I have tried putting in a preferred network, both secured and unsecured changing settings on my router as I went. I tried various settings including WPA-PS2 which is in the network connections. I have the wireless turned on WLAN is on.
A friend of mine had a 802.11b netgear router and all of her computers were running just fine on it so she says. She bought and installed a 802.11n router and bought usb adapters for all her computers and all work, except one, a Dell Optiplex 330 that runs Windows XP.Some drivers were missing such as her Ethernet Controller and a chipset driver but I was able to install those from the Dell website. She had not yet bought a new USB adapter for the computer, I tried using my D-Link adapter and I can see the network in the D-Link connection manager but in Windows when I go to view a list of wireless networks, it doesn't show any. I cannot connect to the network from the D-Link connection manager.
I am using a dual boot windows vista HP and Ubuntu 9.04 on a Dell AMD Athlon 64, and I am looking for a program that will allow me to view the code passing through my router.
I have WRT54GS I can't view the setting tab to check or change. It seem the tabs are light in color and I click on them. I did have a virius which I got rid of. I have removed the linksys software and re installed
I have bought Linksys E 4200. I'm connected up by protocol PPPoE by my provider, but IPTV doesn't work on my computer.I use the program IP-TV Player and/or VLC Player and both don't work. I only see the list of channel, but any channel doesn't load. Before I used the router DLink Dir 300, and everything was Ok.
