View 1 RepliesAn end user is looking to connect 21x IP Cameras to the switch and they require at least 6W port port. Now, the datasheet states that each port on the SF300 provides 15.4W.I need to double check so that the end user will not start connecting the IP Cameras and then half of them might not fire up.

I have some issue from last 2 month on sf300.
The problem is that sf300 does not support complete dhcp, for that i put different internet modem.
I connected one internet modem in vlan 1 so users from that vlan can access internet and default gateway is nothing but Internet modem ip. user in the vlan are not communicate with other vlan because, other vlan users default gateway is Interface ip address. How i can give access to vlan 1 to access other vlan .
See the attached.
I have to used static route in all 3 devices or any one.
We had a SGE-2010, just purchased 2 (two) SGE-2010P. I want to stack the switches (all 3) (unless there is a better way). Not sure what is needed hardware wise, and how to physically wire the switches. Had switches years ago (diff brand) that used a special cable that connected the switches. It seems that is not the case here. I have not used fiber in networking before so I am new to that part, I’m willing to learn, just need pointed in the right direction.Can all three switches be stacked, (1) SGE-2010 & (2) SGE-2010P? I THINK I need to use the GBIC port 4 to stack, I understand 1 port is enough if two switches are used, but what about three or more switches.What are the other GBIC ports used for? Will I be better off (can I ) use the GBIC ports LAG (2 ports) to the other switches? Or would regular ports work just as well?

I can retrieve the table from SF300-24P and SF300-48P switches running Firmware Version 1.0.0.27, but get garbage for the MAC address when retrieving that same table on the same model switches running Firmware Version 1.1.1.8. Is there an outstanding defect on this code level? How can I retrieve the table showing the IP address to MAC address mappings?

I have a Cisco SG500-52P along with an older SGE-2010P, am I correct that in order to stack they must be the same series?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently running two SGE2010 in stack and planning to purchase new Sg500 .I have two questions :
1. If these two different products can be managed as one stack.
2. Are the SFP (mini-GBIC) connections compatible and if so what accessories or parts do we need to enable them?
The switch SG500X-48 has 4 SFP+ ( 10G ) ports - XG1, XG2, XG3/S1, XG4/S2 - and two configuration modes - standalone and "native stacking".
Can I use XG1 and XG2 SFP+ ports to connect servers when "Native stacking" mode is active ?
So it seems like the SG300 series (have here sg300-52) can be run as standalone unit and also in stacking mode. but i can not find any documentation or howto for this.

I am seeing the DHCP request hitting the router, and the router sending the IP to the phone, but it never gets the IP.

I discovered on a pair of SG300-28P.
On a second switch (ver 1.2.7.76) when I unplugged the power cord, to my amazement the switch turned right back on (about 1 second later), with the power cord removed. To verify that the power is indeed coming from POE, the upstream switch (ver 1.1.2.0) that is the same model (sg-300-28p), shows all 7 Ethernet ports connecting the two drawing from 2700mW, to 3000mW.
While the second switch is powered from the first over POE, the POE does not work on the second switch to power anything, and the system summary mentions something about "PoE Power Information on Master Unit".
Is this a stacking operation, and is POE on the second switch NOT supposed to work when powered over Ethernet from an upstream switch?
answer regarding stacking the SGE2010 switches versus link aggregation if greater than 1 Gb connectivity is required between individual switches? Currently have several switches in a stack configuration but would like to increase the bandwidth between some or all of the switches. Does stacking support a link aggregation configuration? If so what ports can be used and how should the link aggregation be configured in conjunction with the stacking?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am installing a network that has two SG500X-24 switches as core and several SG300-52 switches as access switches. I've seen in the SG500X-24 datasheet that there is a True Stacking feature. But in the data sheet there are not a lot of details about it. My doubt is the following. If I configure the two SG500X-24 switches as a single switch through stacking them, can I connect one SG300-52 switch to these two SG500X-24 switches through two cables (both configured as a LAG in the SG300-52 and in the SG500X-24 stack, one cable per SG500X-24), the the first cable connected to the first SG500X-24 switch and the second cable connected to the second SG500X-24 switch and keep both connections active?

Switch(config-if)# switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)# switchport access vlan 15
Switch(Config-if)# switchport voice vlan 5
Not sure if setting the port to an ACCESS port on VLAN 15 (i.e. 15UP) and having the Voice VLAN set to 5 is correct.
Or should the port be set to General or Trunk with 15 as the untagged VLAN and 5 as the tagged voice VLAN (i.e. 15UP, 5T)?
My ISP is providing me with 1 public IP on a /30 network and 14 public IPs on a /28 network. In this example the 10.0.0.1 is the default gw provided by my ISP and 10.0.0.2 is my SF300-08. How to condig SF300-24 to vlan 2 vlan 3 can get IP address from DHCP server in VLan 4?
We have a mitel 3300 PBX that is our DHCP server. It feeds an old Foundry Networks switch that nobody knows the password for anymore so I can't even look in it to get some clues. What I think I know is this.
vlan1 = PC's subnet 10.0.0.X 255.255.255.0
vlan2 = phones subnet 10.1.0.X 255.255.255.0
Phones plug into the switch, PC's plug into the phone.
I am assuming this to be the case becase all the PC's get those numbers and when booting up a phone it comes up and says "vlan2 pri 5" during the DHCP discovery.
Like I said the Mitel 3300 is the DHCP server and our internet access is from the firewall's trusted port.
I have put the switch in L3 mode via the console. No matter what I try, the PC will always get IP addresses in vlan2's subnet. Even if I plug the PC directly into the switch.
I have factory reset this baby and all I have done at this point is put it back in L3 and changed the default ip address so I can get to the web GUI.
I am looking for some technical specs on the SF300 series which I can't seem to find in the 300 series data sheet: the maximum delay for traffic through the switchbuffer size for each switchportwhether or not the ports are suitable for shielded cable and connectors

I'm trying to get some clarity on power stacking 3750X switches. I have a new stack of 6 switches. I know I can only have 4 in a power stack and all 6 in the data stack with a max of 8. I'm trying to find the proper way to connect the power stack cables for the 4 switch power stack.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe purchased a number of 3750X 48 and 24 port switches for the College Campus. Am finally getting around to getting them inserted on the network. Working with a WS-3750X-48PF-S and a WS-3750X-24P-L. Have them stacked with the 10Gb uplink on the 48 port switch. Have not been having fun.In the boot sequence, the switches recognize they are stacked, but as soon as they finish boot, I get the message on the 48 port switch: “Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state down.” Then “Stack Port 2 Switch1 has changed to state down.” Am noticing that I have a message preceding that: “Major version mismatch with stack neighbor.”The 48 port is running c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-1.SE3, HBOOT 12.2(53r)SE2.The 24 port is running c3750e-unversalk9-mz.122-55.SE3, HBOOT 12.2(53r)SE2Most of our 3750X and older switches are running 122-55 or 122.58 code. IP base or Universal. There is speculation that the problem is the 24 Port is Lan base, as the part number might indicate. (WS-C3750X-24-P-L.... I think that is the part number) and the 48 is IP base. Both switches are Universal, and my understanding is that they don't care about LAN or IP Base until you enable a function that falls in the IP Base domain. Then I have to call Cisco Licensing.For these switches, LAN Base is fine, based on the boot message, I feel the real problem is 122-55 versus 150-1 in the stack. So.. the question is: Do I downgrade the 48 port to match what we have in our environment, and what is on the 24 port switch. Or... Upgrade the 24 port switch to match the 48 port switch and have an installation that is not consistent with our environment? I do have two more edge closets to install with this purchase of 3750X 48 port switches.
