Oct 5, 2012We want to puchase new Cisco ISR 1921/K9 . i want to know does it support the following sample IP-SLA commands

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?

Sep 10, 2012What router would you choose to setup 1500 dmvpn tunnels (mGRE/ipsec)? so this router will be my hub and the hub will have 1500 tunnels.this router with this many tunnels will have to be able to provide excellent service to all spokes/tunnels.the spokes will mainly use the tunnels for business, transfering small files and some email I would say they may transfer 500megabyte of data per day but that's the absolute maximum.

Main network 10.65.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0- all office devies and computers.
Second network 10.65.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 - All plant equipment machinery and production lines
i have configure gig 0/0 for my company network and gig 0/1 for my plant network. I can ping the router from both networks but am unable to route traffic betwenn them. what am i missing?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1921 Router - Bandwidth Limitation
Oct 20, 2011I have the following setup:
Cisco 1921 is my core router and connected to it is a 30 Mbit fiberline
VLAN1
VLAN2
Now, the thing is that i want VLAN2 to have a 5 Mbit bandwidth limit to Internet but full speed to VLAN1.
I have played around with Rate limit without success.
I also have access to cisco switches that can limit the bandwidth.

May 21, 2013I'm trying to identify a Cisco router that will give 300+Mbps through a 1Gb WAN port. I think the 1921 can get up to around 300Mbps with the on board RJ45 ports, but are there any other/better suitable models?
There's no need for any other particular functionality or feature set, the routers aren't doing anything fancy or unusual - it's the achieved throughput that's important.

Mar 6, 2013i cant find any difference in these two devices when i am trying to compare throughput.I need upgrade our new POP and there will be around 4900 MAC adresses in VLAN 150 and 130 MAC adresses in vlan 200.Uplink is 1 gig routed internet connection and there is 14 downlinks to separate villages.i found a few differences for eg stack interface on 3750x but i dont need it.

Feb 4, 2013we are replacing network equipment at one of our sites. The network will have 12, 3750X switches(6 stacks) - one stack will be the core. A 1002 will be the WAN router to the Main campus. The 1002 will connect to the core via 2 ethernet cables. I'm debating whether to use L3 or L2 between the router and Core. I've heard that routing is more efficient if L3 is used and also I will be able to create an L3 etherchannel between the 1002 and Core switch. See the attached doc.

Mar 3, 2013I need your input on how to appropriately introduce an N5K with Jumbo enanbled to a prexisting Core Network (Stack of Cisco 3750G Switches) without making any major alteration on the Core configs (everything is happy). The idea is to move two High I/O servers to the N5K during a transitional phase. I already have a fair understanding of what Jumbo-Frames are and what it does. Keep Jumbo-Frames within the N5K ONLY.
Conditions:
- Traffic is Data traffic, not storage/iSCSI
- The servers host our ERP applications and MySQL that is accessed heavily by users
- N5K to C3750G connectivity is a Port-Channel consisting of 4x1GB ports
- The servers are to remain on VLAN 2 (Data VLAN)
- The Core Switch is L3 and the boundaries reside here

+/- only 10 large VLANs, 6 VLANs with HSRP
+/- 500 MACs total
+/- 5 OSPF sessions default timers
standard PVST+ (no Rapid PVST+)i need around 27 SFP ports (24 + 4 on network module=28=ok, extra capacity by stacking)
Looking at the switching capacity of the specs (160 Gbps) this is much better than a C6500 with SUP32-GE !Will it be able to handle this or should i look for C6500+SUP32GE or C6500-SUP720 or maybe even C4500 ?

I am trying to get devices on the the native VLAN to get internet access via the gateway x.x.x.73.Any thing being routed from the other Vlans 15/20/30 can get access, but nothing from an internal IP address. Is there something I am missing.
The Xs replace the same 3 octets for each interface.I am trying to route from VLANs 15/20/30 to see VLAN 5. I have tried a few things, in terms of adding extra ip routes, but can't get anything to work. Each of those Vlans have another router on the other side of them, which I have also tried adding ip routes too, but nothing. One of the routers (Vlan15 is a Draytek 2830). [code]

Since, 4510 & 4507 switches are hign end swithces i want use them as layer 3 switches instead of layer 2.if i change these switches from layer 2 to layer 3 does it make any impact on our network or better to keep them as layer 2 switches.if i change these switches to layer 3 is there any advantage i will have.

I'm currently looking at either 2 x 3750X stacks or 2 x 4500s with dual SUPs and PSUs, both options will provide the number of switchports required without the need for additonal access layer swiches. Which switch option is best to go for here? All of our services will be located in our data centre which will be connected using 2 1000Mbps MPLS circuits. I wont need any advanced L3 features and we are not likley to scale over 450 users. Also is it ok to use the dual switch stacks or chassis to provide the collapsed core/access layer or is it best to have a dedicated core (using one of the above options with less switchports) and having a dedicated accesss layer using 2960Gs for example. Our structured cabling terminates in a single comms room so we wont need to distribute switches throughout the office.

Aug 1, 2012I will be installing two Cisco 1921 Routers to connnect a T1 between two offices. We are changing out our current AdTran routers as we would like to bridge three VLAN's across the T1 link. I followed the instructions at (URL) shtml to the best of my ability and my two Gigabit Ethernet ports are tied into a bridged virtual interface (BVI1). I then assigned a IP to BVI1 and another to my Serial0/0/0 then made a route to get to the other side of the T1 and a defualt route out our proxy. What I want to do now is setup QoS to make sure my voice data gets priority.
I setup a QoS ACL called "Voice" with the TCP and UDP source and destination ports that our phone system uses. I then setup a QoS policy on the Serial0/0/0 outgoing interface called "VoiceTraffic" and under the "match" list I match DSCP 46 or my "Voice" access rule. For the action I turned on "Queuing" and set it up for LLQ at 50%. Does this sound about right? Is there anything els eI can setup? I tried ot setup something else on the ethernet side but because they have the BVI I can't. I read some article sin this forum that said I could still apply QoS to the GigabitEthernet ports even if they are in the bridge group but it doens't let me do that.

Apr 30, 2012I am setting up a new 1921 for a public library and I am running into a problem and I bet I am missing something simple. All the internal stuff works and I can ping the outside IP on the 1921 but can't go any further to the internet. The 1921 has the 2 gig ethernet ports, 0/0 is connected to a DSL getting DHCP settings fine from the DSL modem. The other gig ethernet port 0/1 is running the inside network and its function fine, I have a server on it and other clients and they can ping and get dhcp settings etc.I've pasted the config output below and IP addresses of the main actors. Sep 21, 2012I have a problem with extending the LAN on a client site . They are looking to extend the LAN with a 2960S-series switch. Already in place is a 4510 switch which the 2960 is connected to via fibre. The 2 switches are both set up but there is no connectivity as I cant ping between them or anything. The management VLAN on the 2960 shows line up, protocol down, which I believe means the VLAN is enabled but there is a form of physical mismtach on the ports. I have attached the configs of both switches. I feel it might be a problem with GBIC module compatibility. The SFP installed on both ends of the switch are GLC-SX-MMD. On the 4510, the SFP sits in a twingig converter (CVR-X2-SFP) but there is no light on it at all when the cables are plugged in.
