We have been facing a problem at my company ! We have a Cisco Router 1921 with one HWIC-4ESW in trunking with a RuggedCom switch RSG2100.When I use the GigabitEthernet port to make a trunk, I create 2 sub-interfaces (one for each Vlan) and configure the Port on Switch as Trunk, the inter-VLan routing works with no problem.But now I need to use this configuration using the HWIC-4ESW on Router, and I can't do this work. I try creat interface Vlan for each vlan, and try creating the VLans at Router Vlans database, but no way. At router I enter in interface and try to do the switchport trunk command to add a Vlan, but doesn't work.
We want to puchase new Cisco ISR 1921/K9 . i want to know does it support the following sample IP-SLA commands

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?
I have an interesting problem. I've configured a site to site VPN connection between these two devices. I am using the CDMA card as the primary and only outside connection on the 1921. What happens is that by default the cellular connection is offline. When traffic is generated internally from that network to the concentrator side of this scenario the cellular connection goes online and builds the tunnel, no problem. However, I cannot initiate the tunnel from the concentrator side. I think what i need is a way to force the cellular connection to always be on, and if it fails to come back online.
i have 2 routers 2821 with wic-2t serical card and 1921 with hwic-2t serial card.can i connect between those two serials card with serial cross cable ?
We are currently moving from 1841 (EOL) to 1921/1941 routers. According to the module support doc [URL] this HWIC-1DSU-56K4 card is supported. We have tried both the 1921 and 1941 with the cards without any luck.

we bought the Cisco 1921 ISR with the HWIC-1GE-SFP to get a router that would be able to connect via fiber to our switches. I called Cisco and their reps recommended this router/HWIC pair to me.
I have got the basic configuration out of the way and I have discovered my router with CCP, now I would like to know how I can configure this HWIC. I have the SFP(GLC-SX-MM= ) installed correctly and it is connected to our test switch via an LC/LC cable, but when I do 'show ip interface" all ports are down except the one my workstation connects directly to the router with (gigabit0/1).
I am working on a backup system for my WAN. Verizon quoted the HWIC-3G-CDMA-V to work with my Cisco 1721 router. I have a bunch on these routers on a shelf and thought I would use them for the 3G network. Looking at the Cisco web site it does not list the 1721 as being able to work with this HWIC. I thought it might not be listed as the 1700 series are End of life. Whether it will work?
I have recently configured a cisco 1921 router for internal routing on my network. Here is what i am trying to accomplish:
Main network 10.65.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0- all office devies and computers. Second network 10.65.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 - All plant equipment machinery and production lines
i have configure gig 0/0 for my company network and gig 0/1 for my plant network. I can ping the router from both networks but am unable to route traffic betwenn them. what am i missing?

I'm trying to identify a Cisco router that will give 300+Mbps through a 1Gb WAN port. I think the 1921 can get up to around 300Mbps with the on board RJ45 ports, but are there any other/better suitable models?
There's no need for any other particular functionality or feature set, the routers aren't doing anything fancy or unusual - it's the achieved throughput that's important.
I wounder if there is any way to ping the local deviceses connected to a network hosted by a Cisco 1921 router? I wan't to be able to ping the device(computer name) but currently cant do that.
I have two site that has a copper wire ( 2 wire) connection between each router ( No Telco in between ). Now I want to use 1921 router with HWIC-4SHDSL-E card to connect these two site together. Can I use attach configuration to make the connection reference from the diagram ?

It currently has 2 TwinGig converter modules installed. I want to upgrade the 2 1Gb connections to 2 10Gb connections. First I took out the converter modules and installed 2 X2-10Gb-SR's, but it didnt recognize ("No X2 GBIC")???
Then, I put the converter module back in and put two SFP-10GB-SR's in them, but they don't recognize either...???? I"m running IOS 12.2(54)SG1.

I have a 2811 ISR, a lab unit with almost nothing yet configured other than some IP networks on serial and FE interfaces to ping to other lab routers. And I have one HWIC-4ESW installed, and I amrunning IOS 15.2.I want to set the card as a single routable interface and just have the ports act like switch ports, which I imagine is the default design of these cardsI work a lot with Cisco 891 ISRs so figured it's the same here, assign an IP to interface Vlan1 and all is well. That was wrong, obviously more config is required.It seems there are a lot of differing answers out there, so far none what worked for me. The best looking one I could find said to assign an IP to the Vlan 1 interface, then go to each of the four FE interfaces on the switch module.
I have the following config using a Cisco 1921. I am trying to get devices on the the native VLAN to get internet access via the gateway x.x.x.73.Any thing being routed from the other Vlans 15/20/30 can get access, but nothing from an internal IP address. Is there something I am missing.
The Xs replace the same 3 octets for each interface.I am trying to route from VLANs 15/20/30 to see VLAN 5. I have tried a few things, in terms of adding extra ip routes, but can't get anything to work. Each of those Vlans have another router on the other side of them, which I have also tried adding ip routes too, but nothing. One of the routers (Vlan15 is a Draytek 2830). [code]
Maybe this was listed in the release notes for the product and I missed it, but can this item support Etherchannel in a 2801 router? I installed the module into the router and the router recognizes the module. I can configure the ports as access or trunk ports, but I am unable to configure the channel-protocol or the channel-group for the Etherchannel. The IOS on the router is 15.1 M with the upgraded Bootloader version 12.3.
We have two cards HWIC-4ESW on router 3845 but we need that the two cards 8 ports conected betwen, if a pc on port 1 can ping a pc conected on port 8 on second card. tis comunication can,t doing a pc on port 1 can,t conected a pc on port 8.
I have not yet completed my CCNA, however I have managed to configure a 1841 router with 1 x HWIC-ADSL1 and it also has 1 x HWIC-AG-AP-A which is the only part I am unable to get working.
The Wi-Fi (Dot11Radio) config has enabled me to see the SSID from wireless devices, but they never get an IP address. I need them to get the same IP range as the DHCP service I have in there 203.35.10.xxx, there is no option for "IP ADDRESS DHCP" only "IP ADDRESS POOL LAN" Lan is of course my DHCP pool name. however I cannot have the same DHCP pool on both Dot11Radio interfaces.
I know I'm missing one very simple command, but as I've never worked with Radio on Cisco equipment, I am unsure how to fix it.
Then once I get that worked out, I need changing the access from OPEN to WPA or WPA2, etc..

I will be installing two Cisco 1921 Routers to connnect a T1 between two offices. We are changing out our current AdTran routers as we would like to bridge three VLAN's across the T1 link. I followed the instructions at (URL) shtml to the best of my ability and my two Gigabit Ethernet ports are tied into a bridged virtual interface (BVI1). I then assigned a IP to BVI1 and another to my Serial0/0/0 then made a route to get to the other side of the T1 and a defualt route out our proxy. What I want to do now is setup QoS to make sure my voice data gets priority.
I setup a QoS ACL called "Voice" with the TCP and UDP source and destination ports that our phone system uses. I then setup a QoS policy on the Serial0/0/0 outgoing interface called "VoiceTraffic" and under the "match" list I match DSCP 46 or my "Voice" access rule. For the action I turned on "Queuing" and set it up for LLQ at 50%. Does this sound about right? Is there anything els eI can setup? I tried ot setup something else on the ethernet side but because they have the BVI I can't. I read some article sin this forum that said I could still apply QoS to the GigabitEthernet ports even if they are in the bridge group but it doens't let me do that.
I am setting up a new 1921 for a public library and I am running into a problem and I bet I am missing something simple. All the internal stuff works and I can ping the outside IP on the 1921 but can't go any further to the internet. The 1921 has the 2 gig ethernet ports, 0/0 is connected to a DSL getting DHCP settings fine from the DSL modem. The other gig ethernet port 0/1 is running the inside network and its function fine, I have a server on it and other clients and they can ping and get dhcp settings etc.I've pasted the config output below and IP addresses of the main actors.
