We have two cards HWIC-4ESW on router 3845 but we need that the two cards 8 ports conected betwen, if a pc on port 1 can ping a pc conected on port 8 on second card. tis comunication can,t doing a pc on port 1 can,t conected a pc on port 8.

I have a 2811 ISR, a lab unit with almost nothing yet configured other than some IP networks on serial and FE interfaces to ping to other lab routers. And I have one HWIC-4ESW installed, and I amrunning IOS 15.2.I want to set the card as a single routable interface and just have the ports act like switch ports, which I imagine is the default design of these cardsI work a lot with Cisco 891 ISRs so figured it's the same here, assign an IP to interface Vlan1 and all is well. That was wrong, obviously more config is required.It seems there are a lot of differing answers out there, so far none what worked for me. The best looking one I could find said to assign an IP to the Vlan 1 interface, then go to each of the four FE interfaces on the switch module.

I installed the module into the router and the router recognizes the module. I can configure the ports as access or trunk ports, but I am unable to configure the channel-protocol or the channel-group for the Etherchannel. The IOS on the router is 15.1 M with the upgraded Bootloader version 12.3.

We have a Cisco Router 1921 with one HWIC-4ESW in trunking with a RuggedCom switch RSG2100.When I use the GigabitEthernet port to make a trunk, I create 2 sub-interfaces (one for each Vlan) and configure the Port on Switch as Trunk, the inter-VLan routing works with no problem.But now I need to use this configuration using the HWIC-4ESW on Router, and I can't do this work. I try creat interface Vlan for each vlan, and try creating the VLans at Router Vlans database, but no way. At router I enter in interface and try to do the switchport trunk command to add a Vlan, but doesn't work.

I have performed shutdown and no shutdown in the interface but still the the WAN link was not working. After performing a reboot the WAN link started working. No error logs were generated while the WAN link was down.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI started to set up a 1721 router with WIC-4ESW. This is on an internal network, so only looking to just do routing from FA/0's interface to the networks attached to ports on the WIC. I first assigned just VLANs to 2 of the ports and this did not work. So I did some reading up and decided to use bridge groups. Except I still can not access the interfaces on the WIC. And by that I mean on the router itself I can not ping the ip assigned to the BVI.
I have another 1721 w/4 port that long ago I seem to remember simply assigning VLANs to the interfaces and I was able to communicate between the networks without issue (or maybe I just don't rememer that well). Thing is I should be able to at least ping the internal interfaces shouldn't I (assuming the status is up). I don't know why BVI2 and 3 are listed as down, nor do I seem to know how to bring these up.
This is what ip int br gives me:

We have cisco 2911/k9 we fixed 2 HWIC-4ESW crds in 2911. I create 4 vlan i have assigned 1 HWIC-4ESW all vlans are working fine
when i configure 5 th vlan it assigned second HWIC-4ESW 1 port but interface status showing up. i connected one system to that port i try
to ping that port that port notable to pinging is there any activation for that second HWIC-4ESW.
Any configuration guide for EHWIC-4ESW card. Also the difference in configuration between EHWIC-4ESWG and HWIC-4ESW if any?

I have cisco2811 and HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI in the main office are using to connect 10 branches ( 10 ISDN lines) for Data.
I have available channels in the used E1 so I can use them for voice using PVDM2-64 ?
I just recently (and very expensively) purchased a HWIC-1ADSL for my 1841 router.
Unfortunately, it doesn't display in the configuration - nor any lights appear on it for power/link.
My first guess is I need to upgrade my IOS. The current version on my 1841 is 12.4(17). Which appears to be pretty current.
I am working on a backup system for my WAN. Verizon quoted the HWIC-3G-CDMA-V to work with my Cisco 1721 router. I have a bunch on these routers on a shelf and thought I would use them for the 3G network. Looking at the Cisco web site it does not list the 1721 as being able to work with this HWIC. I thought it might not be listed as the 1700 series are End of life. Whether it will work?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not yet completed my CCNA, however I have managed to configure a 1841 router with 1 x HWIC-ADSL1 and it also has 1 x HWIC-AG-AP-A which is the only part I am unable to get working.
The Wi-Fi (Dot11Radio) config has enabled me to see the SSID from wireless devices, but they never get an IP address. I need them to get the same IP range as the DHCP service I have in there 203.35.10.xxx, there is no option for "IP ADDRESS DHCP" only "IP ADDRESS POOL LAN" Lan is of course my DHCP pool name. however I cannot have the same DHCP pool on both Dot11Radio interfaces.
I know I'm missing one very simple command, but as I've never worked with Radio on Cisco equipment, I am unsure how to fix it.
Then once I get that worked out, I need changing the access from OPEN to WPA or WPA2, etc..

We have a 3845 router, IPBaseM, ver 12.4(15) that seems to accept an SFP (GLC-LH-SM). It does not show up on a show run, or Sh Ip int brief. If I type show tech-support | include sfp, it returns "sfp_transciever_cod 0x2 (1000BaseLX)".How do I go about configuring it for Ethernet Private Line access?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DC topology based on 2 layers, access and aggregation, based on 2 pairs of N5548Ps, both without L3 Daugher Cards. My intent is to use the aggregation N5K pair as L3 inter VLAN layer, so I configured all the VLAN default GWs there. The 2 layers are interconnected via vPC, in a double-sided vPC topology for some N2Ks and some vSwitches. The point is that, despite connecitivity is working fairly ok, for some applications, like file transfer via either FTP or HTTP, between hosts in different VLANs, the performance is too poor. The file transfer starts ok, but after a while it becomes lower and lower. ICMP is working, but I can see some strange random behaviour, like having some packets taking more that 20 ms (sometimes 40 or more), whilst average is 2 ms.
I read through some articles saying that until you don´t have the L3 license (the one coming with L3 Daughter Cards) you can expect some weird behaviour on L3 level. Is that true?. What can I do apart of purchasing L3 Daughter Cards?. Can I enable L3 Basic license at the moment (I don´t need dynamic routing for now).

I have a new 6509E with 2 sup 2T cards. The 10GE ports on both sup cards will connect to 2 5548s. Can i connect the management interface on the new 6509E to the old 6509 until i free up space to bring the line cards over?
