i have 2 routers 2821 with wic-2t serical card and 1921 with hwic-2t serial card.can i connect between those two serials card with serial cross cable ?
View 3 Replieswe bought the Cisco 1921 ISR with the HWIC-1GE-SFP to get a router that would be able to connect via fiber to our switches. I called Cisco and their reps recommended this router/HWIC pair to me.
I have got the basic configuration out of the way and I have discovered my router with CCP, now I would like to know how I can configure this HWIC. I have the SFP(GLC-SX-MM= ) installed correctly and it is connected to our test switch via an LC/LC cable, but when I do 'show ip interface" all ports are down except the one my workstation connects directly to the router with (gigabit0/1).
I have an existing C2821 router (2 onboard GE + 1 HWIC-2FE) currently. Like to add another 1 HWIC-2FE. Saw this doc on Cisco website which states Max of 2 HWIC-2FE for Cisco2821. Want to confirm this is indeed so as another link states max of 1 HWIC-2FE.

I see them in the inventory but don't see them in show ver. I'm assuming that the software is not recognizing them. I've tried a bunch of releases that software advisor says they are supported and am wondering if I'm just doing something wrong.

I have an interesting problem. I've configured a site to site VPN connection between these two devices. I am using the CDMA card as the primary and only outside connection on the 1921. What happens is that by default the cellular connection is offline. When traffic is generated internally from that network to the concentrator side of this scenario the cellular connection goes online and builds the tunnel, no problem. However, I cannot initiate the tunnel from the concentrator side. I think what i need is a way to force the cellular connection to always be on, and if it fails to come back online.

We have been facing a problem at my company ! We have a Cisco Router 1921 with one HWIC-4ESW in trunking with a RuggedCom switch RSG2100.When I use the GigabitEthernet port to make a trunk, I create 2 sub-interfaces (one for each Vlan) and configure the Port on Switch as Trunk, the inter-VLan routing works with no problem.But now I need to use this configuration using the HWIC-4ESW on Router, and I can't do this work. I try creat interface Vlan for each vlan, and try creating the VLans at Router Vlans database, but no way. At router I enter in interface and try to do the switchport trunk command to add a Vlan, but doesn't work.

I have some issue on Card Hwic-D-9ESW with Router 2821, i was install card 9ESW in to router 2821 on slot 2 and 3. After I show run, the Cisco Router 2821 have interface F0/3/0 - F0/3/8.and i configure V lan already and interface up also.
When i connect PC to port F0/3/0, the interface is up, but i cannot pint go interface, i mean it request time out. My question is, Is it correct that i install card into slot 2 and 3?
What is the problem all port up but i cannot ping to interface?

I'm trying to find a single device that can both handle Q-in-Q VLAN trunk termination and also TDM cross connects between DS0's on a multi-channel T1 card and DS0's on a multi-channel DS-3 card. I'm looking at a Cisco 7606-S with SUP720's. If I install a 7600-SIP-200 or 7600-SIP-400 with both a SPA-2XCT3/DS0 (channelized T3 card) and a SPA-8XCHT1/E1 (channelized T1 card) will I be able to TDM cross connect the DS0's between the cards? Is there a limit on the number of TDM cross connects? Also, I noticed the CMM cards are EOL. Ideally we'd like to terminate PRI's into the 7606 and run H.323. We'd like to pass voice calls to CUCM and TDM switch FAX calls (via H.323 dial-peer) to a given CAS DS0 on the SPA-2XCT3/DS0. Is this doable with any of the current cards? If not, then we'll stick to the configuration in the first paragraph and only have the 7606 handle the TDM cross connects.

Then a red cross appears between my "Network" and my "Internet" and it says "there may be a problem with your domain name server" when I try to repair it. I can access the router settings by going to 192.168.1.1 but I don't know what to change. It's a Linksys WRT54GL and I'm on a windows vista. I've tried stuff like reseting the router and doing ipconfig /flushdns but no success.

1. why i can't see vlans in the running config on switch 3750 even after i created 3 vlans?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have 6 brnaches configured with NAC Module in Cisco 2821 ISR router. The WAN link being used to connect all the branch to the HQ CAM is via WIMEX wireless Broadband. The bandwidth is 2MB.OOBVG is the mode used. All branches were working well last 1 year. Last month it is suddently disconnected from the CAM.I opened the TAC. Cisco history of TAC experience, We have total 6 TAC enginners tried one by one still the problem not resolved. The following are the findings
1. Timing is accurate between CAS-CAM
2. Shared secret key correct
3. SSL temp certificate ok also image being used it 4.6.1.
4.Tcpdump from both CAM and shows some initial packet drops of 10 sec with the below CAM log
I believe that NAC is not a matured products and the problem like this even by Cisco TAC can not solve.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAm running Cat6 cable to my cellar. I plan to run a face plate in the walls of all rooms where there will be an ethernet connection. Originally when I did this in a previous house I wired two rooms together i.e. a face plate in one room and the other end a face plate. I did a cross over cable for this so when connecting anything at the other end it would talk to the device in the other room i.e. room A NAS straight through to face plate, room B PS3 straight through to face plate for example.However as I will be connecting multiple rooms together in to a patch panel then switch / router how will this then work? For all rooms where there is face plate do I crossover all cable to the patch panel or straight through? If straight through to the patch are my patch leads then cross overs to the switch?

Here is what I have in a simple diagram:
PC(static IP)--to--Switch--to--(Ethernet0 int, WIC0)1721 router(FastEthernet0 int, built-in)--to--Switch--to--PC(DHCP)
I need static IP PC to be able to ping the DHCP client. Static IP units 10.1.1.x/16, DHCP clients 10.1.3.x/16.
I have found these overlap and thus give errors and will even shutdown the interface if I enable certain things like routing or bridging.
So I gather I need to change one interface IP range, which would be the DHCP side, I need to stay 10.1.1.x/16 for static side.
I have the CISCO 1800 and I have there the HWIC-2T. I have two questions.First is an easy one. I want to replace the HWIC-2T with HWIC-4T but the CISCO 1800 guide and the HWIC-4T guide says that they dont fit together but I inserted the HWIC-4T in to the CISCO 1800 it recognized him with all the 4 Smart Serial ports that it hase. The question is, how can I check if the CISCO 1800 supports the HWIC-4T?Second question is how can I configure one of the Smart Serials in the HWIC-2T/4T to comunicate with the X.25 Protocol? What I have now is at one end CISCO 1800 and at the other end CISCO 2800 and they are comunicating with each other throught one of the Smart Serials they have. I want to connect to each one of then an old pc that comunicate only with X.25 and I want this two computers to comunicate with each other throught those two routers.

The network icon in the system tray shows a cross sign with a red color. I cant seem to be able to find a solution. Tried all the solutions listed in the forum. When i connect the lan cable directly into the laptop the internet works fine. But as soon as i remove it the cross sign again comes and i cant have internet access. I am having an Atheros Ar9285 Wireless Network Adapter installed in my device manager and everything is fine there with no ? or ! marks. I am using a Belkin router with in built modem.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a new 877 that I am using for internet traffic for 3-4 internet only devices.I also have a clean network that i want to insure no cross contamination. However I plan on rolling this out to many sites, but for management I was hoping to set up a reverse telnet to the console port from our one of my clean switches. which should allow me to keep the units seperated and allow me to manage changes etc remotely. Unfortunatly there is no Aux port on the clean switch (3560). Is there still a way to acheive this? can i configure one of the ethernet ports to connect to the console of the 877?
