Dec 1, 2012I have a server with 4 ethernet ports, 1G, they are bonded together, two of them was pluged into cat6500 module WS-X6724-TX. now we have moved the two ports to the replace module WS-X6748-GE-TX.
I have checked server side, the bond configuration are same no changed. what is possible reason replace module will cause link offline? why "sh run all" give the port is shutdown?

I have forwarded the essential ports to use the IIS and the Exchange Server of my SBS2011 (HTTPS, HTTP, smtp, rpc). I have also created some access rules for these ports, but I don't have any access on my server services, if the firewall is activated.

May 14, 2013Is there a way to associate spare firewall ports with another port that is being used..For example...int gi 0/2 is being used currently for my web dmz. Its ip is 192.168.10.1..Is there a way for me to associate gi 0/3 with the same layer 2 as gi 0/2 ?
In my webdmz I use 2 ACE 4710 proxys in FT mode. I used a layer 2 switch to connect firewall and proxys together.
I would like to eliminate this switch if possible..and connect both 4710's (layer 2) direct to firewall.If I could make gi0/2 - 4 part of the same vlan, then I would be good to go.

Could you recomend me switch with more then 12 SFP ports from Cisco for this SMB network ? I don't know all the Cisco product lines and I can't find it.

I have them hookedup and TURNED on by a 3560 PoE 8 port switch via the uplink ports. I can console into the CPD switch just fine and getting it configured.. but when I connect anything to the ports (1-8) I'm not getting any indicator lights.

For example, if I wanted to change the web admin port from being availble on port 80 to port 8080, or move the SSH port from 22 to 2022, how would I do this?
I've looked over the web admin interface, and the Security > TCP/UDP services option looks like what I want, but I see no way to change a service's listening port. Is this possible?

I have various other devices on the network plugged into other ports on the switch.I want port 1 to communicate with every port on the switch, but don't want the other ports to be able to see eachother unless I specifically allow them to. For example, port 5 should see port 1, and 7, but nothing else.Everything needs to be in the same subnet. With the older Dlink switches I am used to this feature is called "Port Segmentation" but I see no such option in this switch. I have been playing with the VLAN settings but so far I have not been able to achieve this.

where 192.168.1.150 is my server (that hosts SQL server and that I want to be able to connect to remotely using VNC) and GigabitEthernet0 is my configured WAN interface.
When I try to connect from an external client I get the error: "Failed to connect to server..." Is this a firewall issue? How do I get round it? The 819 is the only router/firewall in my network.

Jan 22, 2013I have hardcoded 1GB ports on 3750X to 1000 and full duplex for all servers connected. THe ports are not coming up with this speed and duplex settings. If I configure them to 100, I am able to see the port is up. Whereas if i connect the same servers to 2950 switches, i can see the ports working fine with 1000 speed ..we have tried with the latest universal IOS as well

I replace the faulty moldule with the working one but now the new (good) module's first 12 ports stopped working. But when I insert the good card (the replaced one with the faulty) in other chassis it works fine.

When I hookup my router/firewall to port 1 it all appears to work. If I hook it up to 9 or 10, the port lights do not come on and it doesn't work. I read that ports 9 & 10 don't have POE on the POE switch, but I assumed that all 10 ports would function with cat5e?

will this take out the existing monitoring configuration below? Will I have to add the whole line in including the interface - will this cause any disruption to existing traffic being spanned to those ports?
