One of techs accidentally connected two access ports from different switches together. Since then, LMS is alerting them as being Link ports down. I tried to default the config and set them to access ports without any success. what I should do in LMS to recognize them as access ports?

In my webdmz I use 2 ACE 4710 proxys in FT mode. I used a layer 2 switch to connect firewall and proxys together.
I would like to eliminate this switch if possible..and connect both 4710's (layer 2) direct to firewall.If I could make gi0/2 - 4 part of the same vlan, then I would be good to go.
We have an ASA 5505. 5505 comes with two default vlans 1&2 with each of them marked as inside & outside respectively.My query is , if i do not want to use vlans on 5505 and only want to use the Ethernet ports as pure physical layer 3 ports, is it possible?i.e. i want to assign a layer 3 ip address on eth0/0 and eth0/1 and make them as the inside & outside interfaces rather than vlans. is it possible to do away with vlans in 5505 & will it work otherwise?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this problem i can't open my ports on my D-link 524, i have opened about 6 ports so that my XBOX 360 works with a open nat, i have also set the DMZ to my xbox's IP which is static btw, my PC is also static. This is how i basically tested and it told me that it was not opened. I went into:

Apply -> Then restarts modem/router i waited for 2 minutes before turning them on again, i turned router on first because some guide told me to do that.
I did exactly what they did on portforwarding.com then i opened up portchecker and typed in 3074 and pressed check -> This port is NOT opened. What is wrong? This is how my net is set up.
Modem ZyXEL -> D-Link 524 -> D-Link DGS 1005D -> Computer/XBOX.
I can't get port forwarding to work, even when I turn off the Windows 7 firewall and AVG anti-virus software I'm running. I entered the IP address of my laptop (with a DHCP reservation) and UDP and TCP port numbers, with Schedule set to Always and Inbound Filter set to Allow All. That should be it, right? However, when I check the ports using PFPortChecker, both the UDP and TCP ports are blocked. I do have a Linksys wireless router daisy-chained to the D-Link router, but I'm not communicating on this computer through the Linksys router and the problem still occurs even when the other router is disconnected, so that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the problem. I just updated to the latest firmware (3.13NA).

View 14 Replies View Relatedcant open the ports 2300 -2400 (udp, tcp)on router. What I do isthe following.
1. Open ports on router in port forwarding.
2. Add the triggers as well in APPLICATION RULES with the ports. Triggers are 47624 and 6073.
3. Try both Dis and Enable UPNP. Even try the DMZ enabled settings.
4. Disabling firewalls on Laptop and router. Try both ways on DMZ's(enable and disable) settings on router. Check everything.
Still when I check on websites about the ports and they are shown closed (NOT STEALTH). Router uses a firmware 4.0. I have a windows 7 64 bit system. I use wireless.
Note: All the steps are performed in a combinations manner to see if there is any possibility of opening ports.
I want to forwards some ports for my PS3 however. I am using [URL] to do it. I use IE, I go to port forward, I set everything up like it shows and put in my PS3 IP, and I choose save settings. When it comes back after rebooting, nothing is saved. Everything I put in has vanished.

I follow all the steps to port forward but alas the port is still closed every single time. I've tried a few fixes in the past including disabling UPnP, using those auto port forwarding programs, and creating an exception for the port in my fire wall. Nothing has worked!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 5 VLANs, I assign VLANs to its ports and make them all Untagged.I created ACLs and a ACE rules for each ACL, and then assigned to the ports.So what i am trying to do is to deny access to from one port to other 4 ports and granted access to any other ports. But it is not working, without last rule "allow any any" it has no access to any ports, with the last rule it grants access to every port even to those I denied.Router in Layer 3 mode, all VLANs have their IP's.
At some moment I was able to work it properly but without using any rules, I just tagged my untagged VLANs to those ports which I wanna get access to. As you can see I want allow ports GE1 - GE4 communicate with 1 to 24 ports but not to each other.
Users behind a Cisco 1841 are not able to connect to a network using the Cisco Systems VPN Client. Transport is IP sec over UDP (NAT/PAT). Connection just times out.

I have Cisco ASA 5520 / ASA Ver: 8.0(4) / ASDM Ver: 6.1(3). I have configured Remote Access VPN and everything seems to be fine. Like i have created Extended ACL and allowed for singe host with particlar port to be allowed.
After login with the Anyconnect client, i am restricted to access the single host configured, but not based on ports. i.e. i do not want user to RDP the server allowed, but only access the application based on the port that is allowed. But somehow it is not working.
how can i allow user to access a server with defined port only and not any other service/port access for the server.

I have a 16 port hub (NM-16ESW) installed in this router. Is there a way to lock down this hub so that only whitelisted machines will be allowed to connect to its ports? ie: by mac address or some other type of permission method? How to be able to plug their computer into the hub and join the network unless their device has been ok'd first.
My TP-Link 8817 which is connected to my ASUS RT-N66u appears to be blocking my ports. I port forwarded on my router to set up a server. I do have the right IP and ports set up. Originally i thought it was the router but then "netMakeChannDial: err=-3000 rn_p=8050dc14" appeared in the modem log but nothing in the router log even though i turned on the "logged packets type" to Both. I have googled this error but nothing came up so I'm probably just doing something stupid. I have even tried turning off the modem firewall and SPI, but still no luck.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've installed XAMPP on one of my Vista computers, and intend to use it as a server. The internal IP address of the server is A.B.C.D. The internal IP address of the DIR-615 is A.B.C.E. whatsmyip.com says that external address of the server is F.G.H.I (and so is everything else inside my network). I have Filezilla listening on port 21. I've turned Windows Firewall completely off on the server, and my ISP (Time Warner / Road Runner) says that they never block any port.I tried going to the DIR-615 using Port Forwarding, and set ports 21 & 90 to forward to A.B.C.D, for both UDP & TCP, Allow All, Always. That didn't work.I tried going to the DIR-615 using Virtual Server. I set a virtual server on port 21 to A.B.C.D, for both UDP & TCP, Allow All, Always. It made me turn off Port Forwarding, and it wouldn't let me use both 21 & 90 on the same rule, so made two rules. That didn't work either.
I tried setting A.B.C.D as a DMZ host. That still didn't work.I can ftp connect into A.B.C.D from one of the other computers in the network. People outside the network can't connect to F.G.H.I. I can't connect to F.G.H.I. from inside the network. The same is true of Apache (but ports 80, 81 & 443), Ventrilo (but ports 3784 & 6100) and MySQL (but port 3306). View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DAP-1522 in my den that I am connecting as a bridge to a Netgear WNDR3800 that in turn is connected to a cable modem in my living room. I have multiple PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet Ports. All the Ethernet connected PC's are getting IP addresses from my Netgear WNDR3800 via DHCP and can access the Internet fine. The weird thing is the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 through the Ethernet ports can't see each other - they are isolated from each other. I can see the DAP-1522 hard wired PC's from a laptop connected wirelessly through the Netgear WNDR3800 but the PC's wired to the DAP-1522 can't see each or communicate to each other via IP, though they can communicate to anything else on the Netgear WNDR3800 wireless network or Internet.Only the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet ports are isolated from each other. Very strange. This is a problem because I have a NAS device I want to connect to the DAP-1522 that will be shared by the PCs in my den. I do software development and want access between the PC's and NAS device at Ethernet Gigabit speed. I am using default configurations for the DAP-1522. It appears that firmware for the bridging function if funky. I am on firmware version 1.41. The hardware release is A1.Not sure if it is an issue with the DAP-1522 or the Netgear WNDR3800.

I've been using this router for almost 2 years and it has been excellent but since 2 weeks ago it has stopped recognizing anything connected to the LAN port 1 and the WAN port, so it becomes useless as a router because I cannot connect a cable modem. The cable modem was tested successfully with a direct connection to a computer but it doesn't work with the router, and also ANYTHING you connect to these ports on the router is not detected, the lights do not turn on.

I use the Service port connected to the managementVLAN to manage the WLCs. When configuring HA with AP SSO, I lost HTTPS connectivity to the WLC, telnet still works fine.I researched the deployment guide and it states:
