Netgear Wnr3500v2 - Ports Closed After Forwarding Before Timed Out?
Dec 1, 2011I have a problem trying to forward ports needed for steam: my connection to internet looks like this Cisco epc3212 cable modem -> netgear wnr3500v2 ->my pc, all via ethernet cable I set up static ip for my pc and forwarded ports in router but after checking results on web port scanners it only changed from timed out to closed. I have no firewalls, neither on my pc or router, i called my isp and they told me they don't block any ports. I have windows 7. After trying dmz all my ports remain closed except for 3389 which is remote access for windows. I.ve been working on this for past few hours and i'm loosing my mind .

Dec 4, 2012I have a Netgear wnr2000v3 Router connected to my Motorola Surfboard Gateway.I have a freePBX Server (virtual running off of VMware Workstation 8) that needs ports 10001-20000 and 5060 forwarded to the server at 192.168.1.110
I added the portforwarding as in this photo:
When I use a port tester it still says "Port 5060 is closed"I have also turned off Windows Firewall. What else could be blocking these ports?

Oct 25, 2011I have my 2Wire AT&T U-Verse router properly set up to forward the port 25565 from my machine. (Incidentally, PortForward.com gives me a blank page when I try to look up how to do this.) However, when I test the port is indeed open ( Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router ), it returns as closed. Yes, I'm running the server software while I run the test. I only have the Windows Firewall, but I ran attempts while the firewall was completely disabled as well as with just the appropriate programs allowed.

It is an MS Outlook application that utilizes FTP servers to host .PST files (outlook data bases) for synchronization.The software has an FTP client built in that can access FTP accounts to store and synchronize the .PST file.
The issue is the WRT610N will not allow this client to connect to our FTP account. We had 4Team’s tech support working on it for a few hours. I am using a Virgin media branded router in 'modem mode', this would not cause issues.
I did not do anything to change anything, I went to add an additional port to forward and it didn't work.

When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I have a BSNL BB connection. When I use the connection directly, without adding TP Link router, all the websites open flawlessly. Once when I connect the wireless router, certain websites for example Yahoomail, pepperfry.com, yepme.com don't open at all. These are just examples, but I'm unable to access many sites which is a bit annoying. But sites such as gmail, youtube, facebook open clean, there are no issues. I didn't make any configuration changes too. I tried it more than three or four times, but there is a restricted access only.

Oct 4, 2011All I can tell you about my internet connection is that I have a kinda white box looking antenna, which is connected by a rj45 to this ghetto looking modem thingy - imgur: the simple image sharer (the other cable obviously gets plugged in the computer).it is not a mac adress thing, cause I can plug that cable in any pc I want and it is going to get an ip through DCHP in a matter of seconds. [code] Friend of mine connected another pc to this internet some time ago using somekind of wan bridge/lan bridge option on his asus router, but I can't find anything equivalent on mine. Had the exact same issue when trying to connect the router by conventional means.

Oct 20, 2011My router was working just fine when a lightning struck. I cant seem to connect to the router's configuration page (192.168.1.1) anymore, All the lights on the router are on and I tried to reset it to default settings several times but still it wont connect. I tried it on a laptop but I still cant get it to connect. I can surf the net just fine when using the ADSL modem though. I can ping the IPaddress 192.168.1.100 but can't ping the default gateway which is 192.168.1.1. I also tried switching to another cable just in case but to no avail.

TP-Link WR740N Router / Local Access Only When WPA Is On?
Jun 16, 2012I got a new TP-Link WR740N router and I'm having a problem with it. Everytime I enable security (WEP, WPA etc.) the signal on all notebooks will go "local access only" immediately, even if I use the right password. Router signal is always there, but Internet access will only be available if security is set to "unprotected" on the router setup. Funny thing is that my old router (Linksys WRT54) had WPA2 on and everything was ok.

i m experiencing wireless disconnects every 5 or 10 minutes and all i have to do is too disconnect from the router in windows from Wireless connections panel , and reconnect and it ggets fixed for some time again . i got so frustrated that i changed to openwrt , the disconnection problem is gone but not getting the 150Mbps.

I have recently purchased a new desktop computer that does not have an internal WiFi card. To remedy this I bought the TP Link TL-WR702N. Currently my access to the internet is provided by a mobile WiFi router (one of these: { URL}, that spreads a wireless signal throughout my house for things like my phone and laptop to connect to. I was under the impression that the WR702N would be able to connect to this network and let my new computer run on it (I believe it's called client mode?)
Now so far I have not been able to get my computer to recognize the existence of the TP Link modem, despite both Ethernet and USB cables being plugged into the computer. I think I need both logging in and changing the mode from AP to client mode.
I emailed support and was given the instruction to read this FAQ [URL], however, when following those instructions, after clicking on "Change adapter settings" instead of reading the router, all I get is a blank screen.
Forwarding Ports And Hosting Minecraft Server
Apr 30, 2013I recently signed up with AT&T U-Verse. They required that I buy a 2Wire 3600 HGV router. I looked up how to forward ports -- and even called an AT&T representative -- and I am sure that I forwarded them correctly. I'm trying to host a Minecraft Server. I forwarded port 25565 in TCP and in UDP. After that wouldn't work, the AT&T representative said that the traffic was being blocked from my side. I then checked my Windows Firewall and allowed all proper applications -- Minecraft and Minecraft Server. When that wouldn't work, I went in an manually added exceptions to Windows Firewall for TCP - 25565 and UDP - 25565 Inbound and the same for Outbound. Nothing.I have tried to check the ports in DMZ mode with Windows Firewall disabled -- they are still timing out. What should I do?

May 16, 2011Now my problem refers to the game Minecraft specifically, but I believe it has more to do with the router than the game, so that's why I am posting on here. To let people connect to your Minecraft server, you need to set a static IP and forward the port 25565. I have followed all of the tutorials for that on this site to the letter, and yet all I can do is make people in my network able to connect. Now before you say this has nothing to do with you guys, I also want to point out that the port checker tool says that port is closed, on both UDP and TCP. For some reason following these guides only opens my port to the network that connects through the router, either wirelessly or wired. So therefore any port checking tools or sites say that it is closed. I have checked my firewalls, turned them off, uninstalled them and that doesn't work. And no, people can't connect through the network unless I forward the ports, so I am actually doing something when I try to forward them. I am running Windows Vista x64-bit

I bought today new TP-Link TL-WR740N and I connected it with my cable modem as it is in manual instructed. There is problem with outgoing signal from router. It is about 1/10 from it should be (it is around 2Mbps from 20 Mbps). Same speeds are going out from router through LAN port and WiFI signal.

Even before I did the latest firmware flash I couldn't select short GI under Advanced Wireless - it was simply greyed out even though WMM was enabled above it. Now after a factory reset and recreating all my settings I still can't select it.
