My router is on a static IP, it is a Linksys WRT150N, and it doesn't have gigabit ports. Is it possible to run it through the 1522's gigabit ports.Modem -> 1522 -> actual router.
View 2 RepliesI have a DAP-1522 in my den that I am connecting as a bridge to a Netgear WNDR3800 that in turn is connected to a cable modem in my living room. I have multiple PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet Ports. All the Ethernet connected PC's are getting IP addresses from my Netgear WNDR3800 via DHCP and can access the Internet fine. The weird thing is the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 through the Ethernet ports can't see each other - they are isolated from each other. I can see the DAP-1522 hard wired PC's from a laptop connected wirelessly through the Netgear WNDR3800 but the PC's wired to the DAP-1522 can't see each or communicate to each other via IP, though they can communicate to anything else on the Netgear WNDR3800 wireless network or Internet.Only the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet ports are isolated from each other. Very strange. This is a problem because I have a NAS device I want to connect to the DAP-1522 that will be shared by the PCs in my den. I do software development and want access between the PC's and NAS device at Ethernet Gigabit speed. I am using default configurations for the DAP-1522. It appears that firmware for the bridging function if funky. I am on firmware version 1.41. The hardware release is A1.Not sure if it is an issue with the DAP-1522 or the Netgear WNDR3800.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to an E4200 from a D-Link DIR-655. I cannot seem to get my desktop to connect to the E4200 at 1 GBS. My adapter is set to "auto negotiate" but will only connect at 100 MBS. If I try forcing the adapter setting to 1 GBS, it never connects. I can swap out my E4200 with the DIR-655 and it will connect at 1 GBS just fine. I am using a CAT 5E cable. Is there something I'm missing here or is the E4200 just more finicky than the the DIR-655?

PC has Gigabit ethernet card. cables are cat 6. Even when I force the NAS and pc network card speeds to 1.0 GBps full duplex, I only transfer files at < 10 Mbps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI Recently purchased the DAP1522 to use as an entertainment bridge for my xbox 360, BR player and dish network receiver I also upgraded my router a WRT5GS running tomato to a Linksys E4200 going from G to N while i had my Xbox and BR connected wireless I didn't have the Dish receiver hooked up so i thought by using the DAP i would be upgrading my network and connecting my Dish receiver no brainier right and everything works so far.But here's the question with all the hype of the benefits of the 5ghz channel , well it's not hype it certainly makes sense but from what I see the products have to be compatible shouldn't what I'm connecting be compatible they say your gaming console specifically and streaming movies i would think . Any configuration tips I read somewhere that with an E3200 router they had to set the 5ghz channel to like 37 for the DAP to see that channel its all getting a little overwhelming here's whats in the house A Mac Power PC pre Intel using a Asus NB13 USB 2.4ghz its the only thing i could find with speeds over 100Mbps A windows 7 machine hardwired gig connection another windows 7 pc downstairs hardwired a netbook with a wireless connection and lastly a DECT 6.0 phone system who knows what interference these produce.

I have ge0/0 setup as my internal network and is running dhcp, ge0/1 is the connection to the modem. I can't figure out how to configure the connections so my internal traffic on ge0/0 routes out through ge0/1.

how the ASR1000s are being setup.I am looking at ASR1000s as part of network refresh and was looking at RJ-45 based Gigabit Ethernet ports compatible with the ASR1000s SPA-5X1GE-V2 seems to be an option but they are all SFPs. Are there any options for RJ-45 ones on ASR1000s?
There is an option for the 2 port where one can mix and match SFPs and RJ45 but I was looking for something which is RJ45 only.Are there any options for them available.I know I could get something with FastEthernet type but was looking for the GigabitEthernet type.
Adding ports to my Fairpoint provided Westell 7500 Rev D DLS modem router which has only 4 RJ45 ports. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to test the gigabit ports on a Cisco 2950 switch. 1000Base-SX. I have the internet or dhcp server connected to port 24 on the first switch and my pc hooked up to the (any) port on the second switch. Both switchs are connected with a fiberoptic cable with MTRJ connectors on either side.
Now when I use gi0/2 on both switchs all works fine. I get a dhcp address from the router on the other end of the first switch. but when ever I include gi0/1 on either end of the fiber optic cable neither of the ports will initialize (neither of the leds above the ports light up). I have deleted all the config files before booting up the switchs so they should have a default blank configuration.
When looking at the Http web page for the switch I dont see any issues with the port. what can I do to make sure these ports are working or can be configured?
I will not be able to post back any more information about the switch until next tuesday. Im off till then.
I was wondering if I could use the CISCO3945 Integrated Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports for routing, I need to enable BGP and I was willing to use one of those ports.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two switches, WS-3750-24PS-S connected in two cabs via fiber. Patch panels at both ends with patch leads. Used tester to confirm end to end fiber connectivity. When plugged in, one switch lights up the other does nothing.
Ports are as follows:

same at both ends. Tried both GI ports same result. swapped transceivers over and the same result, (one switch lit one not - the same switch in both cases). put both transceiver in each switch, (gi0/1-0/2 in a single switch). on the one that lights up in the original scenario we get link on both ports and they come up, on the other nothing happens. shut down both ports on the malfunctioning switch and no shut them, no change.
Show transceivers doesn't show transceivers on the malfunctioning switch, and no attempt is made to bring the ports up if the fiber is removed and replaced.
it is almost as though the two gb ports are kaput. Anything else I can try?
how many Gigabit port will be supported by Cisco 7206VXR with G1 engine model. By deault we hot 3 GE, is it possible to add additional Gigabit ports with the existing hardware.

Pressing the Reset button does nothing, the lights don't even flash?If I change my Ethernet cable it does represent which port I'm using but I can't ping 192.168.1.1 either? View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently at a friends house attempting to fix a situation he is having with his' wireless router, it is a Linksys WRT150n.Connection to the internet is possible via ethernet connectivity, however wireless is another story, devices can see the network but cannot connect to it, i have disabled the security key from the network to see if it was a simple password incorrection but still no dice.The current basic wireless settings have network mode set to mixed, and radio band, wide and standard channels set to auto, all other settings in the advanced tab are set to their default values.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until about midnight tonight, my router, which has been plugged in to my cable modem, has been working fine for years, both wired and wirelessly. Suddenly, however, I went to log on to my desktop PC (wired connection; Windows 7), and I had no network connection. ipconfig indicated "media disconnected." My cable-based phone service (VOIP) is still working fine at this time.
First attempt - unplug router, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in. Still no good, though my network sharing center indicated that the network connection was appearing/disappearing every few seconds, never actually getting "internet" connectivity.
Second attempt - attempted to use a WIFI-based device (iPad), which could not see my home network by name at all.
Third attempt - reset both the cable modem and the router, bringing the cable modem up FIRST. Same results as the first attempt.
Fourth attempt - plug the wired PC directly into the cable modem - this worked fine and is how I am submitting this post as I type. So the cable modem is working properly.
Fifth attempt - look up the information on how to reset the router to factory defaults. Used a paperclip to depress the reset button for 10- and on a subsequent attempt, 30-seconds (no obvious "reset" blink pattern was observed). Plug PC back in to router. PC would not obtain any DHCP-based IP address and the network sharing center was still behaving as in the first attempt.
Sixth attempt - disconnect the cable modem uplink and see if I could get the local network functioning. Now I noticed that the LED patterns on the router were behaving as:
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- All lights lit
- All lights off
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- etc
In my home I have a cable modem wired to a links wireless router a wrt 300n in my office (only hardwired used in there) and I do not get such good distance to my back bedrooms with my laptop. I have run a Ethernet cable dead center of the house for my sat receiver that is connected and wired to the 300wrt. Here is my question can I use the 150 like a hub or switch at the office connected to the cable modem and use the wrt300n router so that I get wireless on that side of the house. Or in reading here I see I can maybe use a bridge. I do have a older Linksys wrt150n sitting in a box.I have read until my eyes are almost bleeding and am not sure. How I can get a better signal on the other side of the house.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy D-Link DAP-1522 wireless bridge is connected through a single cat5 cable from the LAN port on my PC to the 1st LAN port on the D-link unit. At the moment, it is in bridge mode, with the blue power indicator on, the orange wireless connection light flashing, and the 1st LAN port connection periodically wavering indicating that it is communicating with my PC. When I attempt to configure the DAP-1522 via my internet browser, (IP 192.168.0.50) I get an error saying that the requested webpage does not exist.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

I tried with another router dlink 614i and the same problem, after resetting it it's not accepting admin admin log/pass.

The WRT150N has a gateway of 192.168.23.1. The WRT150N is also connected to an Apple Base Station which serves as the Access Point for WiFi users.Squid limits access for IP addresses listed under the .254 gateway. But once I change my gateway to 23.1, everything is accessible. I want to block sites as well on the WRT150N. But every time I try to put a new Access Restriction, it doesn't work.
