I am working on a request to clean up alot of excess cabling in one of our IDF's. I noticed that many of the connections have no lights on them and probably haven't been used in a long while. I would like to know if there is a CLI command I can run on the Cisco 3750 switch will allow me to bring up a list of ports which have not seen any activity for a period of time - for example, 30, 60, or 90 days.

I have a Cisco 3750G-48PS Running IOS 12.2(40) and was wondering how many physical ports are supported in an LACP Configuration. Is it 4 or 8 ports in a single switch.
If I have a dual 3750 stacked together, and I want to configure (8) port LACP, Can I take (4) ports from each switch in the stack and LACP together.

I have a switch WS-C3750E-48PD, I had two cameras that use 15.4 W in these ports and two days ago these ports go down, now the ports don't deliver PoE but are good when connect a computer.

I'm not able to set the mtu on an SVI or routed gigabit port on either model. they are running 12.2(55)SE4.
It comes back as "% ip mtu is not supported on this interface".
Also, is there any reason why when the "ip tcp adjust-mss", (set to lower than default) is applied to the egress SVI on a 3750 or 3560x, the mms value of the SYN packet is not adjusted when captured at the receiving end? It seems as if the setting does nothing.

I have two switches, WS-3750-24PS-S connected in two cabs via fiber. Patch panels at both ends with patch leads. Used tester to confirm end to end fiber connectivity. When plugged in, one switch lights up the other does nothing.
Ports are as follows:
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/2
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
same at both ends. Tried both GI ports same result. swapped transceivers over and the same result, (one switch lit one not - the same switch in both cases). put both transceiver in each switch, (gi0/1-0/2 in a single switch). on the one that lights up in the original scenario we get link on both ports and they come up, on the other nothing happens. shut down both ports on the malfunctioning switch and no shut them, no change.
Show transceivers doesn't show transceivers on the malfunctioning switch, and no attempt is made to bring the ports up if the fiber is removed and replaced.
it is almost as though the two gb ports are kaput. Anything else I can try?

I have two 3750-X configured to be a stack and I am planning to re-rack these somewhere else. What I would like to know is what are the effects of having the master switch itself lose power? Does it immediately just make the member take over master (there should be no election since there are only 2 switches??) and there would be no loss of connectivity?

in my production environment two swtiches with stack and all ports are in the same Vlan 2 192.168.117.254 and the default getway is 192.168.117.1install correctely all were working fine but from yesterday onwards some of the ports are getting down automatically and coming up automatically and all devices are having static IP's no dynamic. I like the SG-300 switches for SMB and I'd like use them in our network. Design is quite simple just 6 SG-300 switches connected to one central switch using SFP ports (using 2 port trunks) so I need 12 SFP ports and this is my question. Could you recomend me switch with more then 12 SFP ports from Cisco for this SMB network ? I don't know all the Cisco product lines and I can't find it.

The default Gateway and DHCP server is connected to port 1 of the switch. I have various other devices on the network plugged into other ports on the switch.I want port 1 to communicate with every port on the switch, but don't want the other ports to be able to see eachother unless I specifically allow them to. For example, port 5 should see port 1, and 7, but nothing else.Everything needs to be in the same subnet. With the older Dlink switches I am used to this feature is called "Port Segmentation" but I see no such option in this switch. I have been playing with the VLAN settings but so far I have not been able to achieve this.

I have a statck of 4 2960s switches, with POE powered access points on 2 of them. All of the access points appear to be functioning normally. For some reason, on 3 interfaces connected to access points, I get the following when issuing show interfaces status:
Gi3/0/9 connected: T 7 a-full a-1000 10/100/1000BaseTX

My question is regarding the "T" in the status field. I can't find any documentation on this.

My SG200-50P Switch Log appears as follows with Random ports going up and down. I am trying to find out if this links to another problem I'm having with a Client Server software locking up on the client end. I have been reading the postings on this site trying to retrieve the MAC address for the client devices (computers, printers) attached to our switches. We have approximately 500 switches and I need to map the mac address to the switch. It appears the OID information is for SNMP v2. We are restricted to using only SNMP v3. I have tried using the Cisco SNMP Object Navigator without any success.

In my 3750 stack switch there are more than 10 L3 vlans currently in use.In that only one vlan for example vlan 11 (we given up link directly to the nodes connected to that ports which is in vlan 11)losing connectivity for sometime and again connectivity restored.Except Vlan 11 all other vlans are working fine. When we troubleshooted the issue some of the ip's able to ping and some not able to ping. checked the interface status of that ports (no crc and input errors) and port is in up status only.we also checked cpu utlilisation ,device uptime, all are no issues found. am sharing my sw basic config and one interface status at the time of issue.But only one port learning more than 50 Mac-Addresses dynamically.and am learning mac address violation in another port which is port security and storm control enabled on that port..Its seems to be any attack or something else????

I have been looking into this for a while and I can't seem to figure out why my 2nd vlan is not able to connect properly to the net.
My switch has 12 ports where my devices connects directly, they are all on Vlan 1 and they all work perfectly. on Port 12 I have a dlink router that is connected to a cable modem. the dlink router has an Ip address of 192.168.0.20
I created a second vlan (vlan2) and enabled dhcp relay on it. then I assigned port 9 on the switch to (vlan2)my laptop which is connected to port 9 seems to get an ip address fine and able to ping only some devices on my network (vlan1) and is not able to go out to the internet. I think it has to do with the routes. [code]

I have the task of replicating the router config on a 3825 router on a 3750 switch. Reason is we are taking out the router and replacing it with the switch to make use of the router for other functions.

The 3750 switch I have runs C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M, Version 12.2(55)SE3 on a LAN BASE license.
The first thing I have done is to order for a license upgrade to IP BASE which would give the support for OSPF routing.I do not see much of an issue with the Interface configs, however, I am not too sure about replicating the routing config on the switch.
My question is can I run the commands as shown for the OSPF routing on the switch? If not, can I get suggestions on how best to set this up on the switch?

I'm running into what seems a basic ip routing config problem with a Catalyst 3750 (IP Base) switch. I have several VLANS configured on the switch with IP routing enabled, and the switch is connected to the inside interace of a new ASA 5520 as follows:
ASA5520 IP (Default gateway): 192.168.1.1Switchport Gi1/0/1 is configured as a routed port, IP address 192.168.1.3 255.255.255.0Example VLAN is VLAN 100, IP address 192.168.100.1 255.255.252.0 From the switch CLI, I can ping all VLAN addresses, as well as the ASA5520, and the client laptop I'm testing with from VLAN 100.
From the client laptop on VLAN 100, I can ping all switch interface and VLAN addresses (inter-VLAN routing is working), including 192.168.1.3, but I CANNOT ping the default gateway at 192.168.1.1.
Here is the relevant configuration information on the 3750:

I work at a hospital and we have 3750X-48P switches in stacks in various locations throughout the hospital. We have noticed that when an EKG machine is plugged into one of the ports on some of these switches and the EKG machines are set manually to 100/Full, the ports are no longer usable until the switch is restarted. The switch is configured for auto. If the EKG machine is set to auto, it will work and not cause problems. The link on the interface will show up/up and there will be output packets increasing. However, there will be no inputs on the link and the port is unusable. Unfortunately, even when the device is removed, the port becomes unusable for any device. Is there any way to fix this problem without rebooting the switch?

I was checking some things on my Cisco 4500 and spot checking some of the ports. Using CNA it says it is at 10. The web browser to the switch says Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is auto, media type is 10/100/1000-TX on port 6i/18 The CNA says, so what would cause the difference?

I had a bad expirience with Switch 3750-X. Because of an auditing security processess, my customer ran a software called "Nessus" to do a scanning of vulnerability on the network. When this software is point to switch, the process of the switch will next to 100% and reset. The software only do a listening on the ports to see what ports are opened and the switch should not reset because this. Bellow is the log os switch on the moment of test; we note that the processess 'HTTP' rise moments before the switch reset. I disable the HTTP service on switch but the problem persist. The test was made only one machine connected to switch.
