Jun 17, 2012Switch 2 has an interface configured in RSU Standby.Switch 3 has an interface configured in RSU active. The upgrading sequence is : Switch 2, Switch 1, Switch3.The aim of the test is to prove that there is no loss of IP connectivity throught the RSU process.During the RSU process, there are ping between all the computers.
IOS starting version : 15.0-1.SE3
IOS upgrading version (with OVERWRITE) : 15.0-1.SE3 (same version)
1rst step : Switch 2 reboot and come back master but isolated from original stack (switch 1 and 3)
2nd step : Switch 1 reboot, and come back with switch 2 into the upgrading stack.
Issue : at this step :
- Switch 1 put its interface (IP 192.168.5.254) up :
- Switch 3 has not reboot and still has its interface (IP 192.168.5.254) up
=> we have some OSPF adjencies and mac flapping issues : switch 1 and 3 are trying to mount there OSPF adjencies on the same IP. We loss our IP connectivity since step 3 is not over.
3rd step : Switch 3 reboot and come back up in the upgrading stack. The IP connectivity is back, and the RSU process is done.Is that a normal behaviour ?How can we avoid to loose IP connectivity during RSU process ?

Jan 24, 2013IOS upgrade tried on the stack of 2XWS-C3750X-24T-S , Upgrade was tried to support WCCP on the platform. Current version is Cisco IOS Software, C3750E Software (C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(58)SE1, Not able find any IP Plus ios in the site ? Only available are IP base and Universal K9 , Tried upgrading to c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-58.SE2.tar by using stack upgrade method as per document [URL]
Upgrade fails with error :
%Error opening flash:update/info (No such file or directory)
ERROR: Image is not a valid IOS image archive.
Why current ios is not supporting WCCP , I hope it is there in the featureset. ( tried "sdm prefer routing" but no success) Does c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-58.SE2.tar will give me wccp support ? What is the issue with my upgrade and how do I do a successfull upgrade ?

Mar 25, 2013I have upgraded my Catalyst 3750X-switches to software-version 15.0(2)SE2, but I cannot upgrade the 10G servicemodule to the same version. I use the archive download-sw command to load the c3kx-sm10g-tar.150-2.SE2.tar. The file is loaded to the switch, but when the process starts to transfer the file to the module it fails with the following messages:
Error 2: Unable to transfer image to FRU Modul on switch 1Error: Failed to update FRU Module image
The modules is now running with in-compatible versions as shown below:

Dec 6, 2011I recently added a 3750X-24P-L into a stack of 3750V2 switches. I did so by getting the temporary upgrade license from LAN Base to IP Services; I added the switch no problem. I now have the permanent license and I was wondering if I could install the permanent license without having to remove the switch from the stack. I tried a license install but that failed. The switch is not currently the master but I figured I might promote it and then try the install.

Apr 22, 2013Due to a problem with POE+ i have tried to upgrade the IOS to Version15.0.2SE2, from 12.2.58. unfortunatly the Switch doesn't boot up anymore. It starts to decompress and install the IOS 2 Times, after the Second try it displays "unable to boot" and the switch goes in Bootloader-mode. When i look at the version i See that bootloader is still the old version 12.2.58. It seems that the bootloader doesn't geht upgraded and that's why the Switch can't Boot the new Image.

Mar 19, 2013This feature doesn't work as advertised on the Release Notes and other documentation. After 12 hrs of lab work and a tlwo day support call to TAC, they finally came back to me that:
IOS Upgrade works well if you use the command force-reload, without force-reload, it won't work. --"of course with this command the complete stack will go down and the purpose of RSU will not serve"
Then they pointed me to a bug that I could not find in the bug tracker unless I searched by the bug ID number ?? CSCua78897
Unfortunately this bug has a closed status and is not slated to be fixed ?

May 8, 2013Are there issues with the auto upgrade feature for 3750X stacks, either historically or currently?
Some people prefer to upgrade switch stacks manually by disconnectiong the stack cables and uprading code on each switch.
I've done the manual procedure in the past and have not tried the auto upgrade (I have the procedure for the auto upgrade).

When I do show license all I notice I have an evaluation of IP SERVICES image (see output below). Can I use this evaluation license? Nov 7, 2011i'm using some catalysts 3560 with 10 VLANs and inter vlan routing. we use a windows deployment services server to install our workstations. the pxe boot works fine. the image is loading, and when the windows 7 PE is booting, the dhcp request failes. when i use a small not manageable switch between the computers and the catalysts, it works fine.all other things work fine.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2800 Series Router - Multicasting Windows Deployment Services
Mar 25, 2012We have recently implemented Windows Deployment Services on our local network, but everytime we do a multicast image deployment the network get flooded to point of total saturation.
We have Netgear switches and a Cisco 2800 series router. IGMP Snooping has been enabled on all Switches, however, we are unsure on how to implement multicasting on the router.
The whole network is flat - no VLANs over than the default VLAN1. We only want multicasting to work within our local network and does not need to go out the other side of the router as that is the connection to the internet.
How to get the Cisco router configured properly to enable multicasting to not flood the network. It seems that even if we were to image 4 PCs using multicast this is enough to completely get the network flooded.
Also, am I right in thinking that IGMP needs to be enabled on all of the Switches?

Apr 20, 2013open specific ports on 1941w Integrated Services Router.This specific router is a wireless VPN router that has a wired module and a wireless module and VPN so I'm getting 3 subnets on my network - 192.168.1.. for the wired connections, 10.100.1.... for wireless LAN connections and 10.100.2... for VPN remote connections.I know that by default all connected computers can access my Linux server data through telnet so the telnet port is open by default, the problem is that I have some other software licensing system on my Linux box that needs to be accessed through port 27000 and most of my users are using wireless connections and can't access that license because post 27000 is closed.what is the comand to open this post or any other port that I need to be open on the wired module, wireless module and VPN or at least poit me to somewhere where I can find all the commands that I can use for this router?

Dec 27, 2012I have a stack of 2 x 3750X switches these are running 12.2(55)SE5. I needed to add some static IP routes and found that the ‘ip routing’ command is not supported. I came across a document that stated “On switches running the LAN base feature, static routing on VLANs is supported only with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(58)SE and later.” So I have upgraded to 12.2(58)SE2, but ‘ip routing’ is still not a valid command.
The release notes state:“On the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X and 3750-X Series, it adds support for 16 static IPv4 routes in the LAN Base image.”
I have read other posts that talk about running the ‘sdm prefer routing’ command which I have done, but I am still unable to add any routes or run the ‘ip routing’ command.

Dec 9, 2012I have an 1811 with several subnets connected to it.I recently installed a 3750x plant and want to bring my interior routing back to it.
All the routing is handled by the 1811 via secondary interfaces on vlan1?
I have 192 ports, and subnets show up on almost all of them. None of the ports are assigned to any specific vlans. Most ports have several subnets on them.
What is the best approach to getting the 3750x to handle the routing?
