View 3 RepliesI recently added a 3750X-24P-L into a stack of 3750V2 switches. I did so by getting the temporary upgrade license from LAN Base to IP Services; I added the switch no problem. I now have the permanent license and I was wondering if I could install the permanent license without having to remove the switch from the stack. I tried a license install but that failed. The switch is not currently the master but I figured I might promote it and then try the install.

From my understanding these switches come with the ipbase license as default, and the other switch I received (3750X-24P-S) has this license loaded with no issues.
Am attempting to load a new license on a 24 Port 3750X. Was LANBase code, need to get it to IPBase. Have the license file. Have put it on the flash drive. Running "license install flash:" i get the message "%Error reading flash: (is a directory)%Error: License installation failed with error: XML parsing failed"The license installation instructions are a bit cryptic so I could be messing it up. However, every variation I can think of is not working. The command listed above gets the most "promising" results.

I want to upgrade it from ipbase to ip service. after installing ip service liciense file, when i gave command " show license detail" i found there 3 index . one is for ip base -active (permanent) ..2nd is for ip service-active(permanent) 3rd is again ip service but inactive( period 8weeks 2days) , then i cleared 1st one by giving command "clear ipbase" and reboot. but still 2 index .both for ipservice one is permanent-active another is inactive . so my question is how can i remove 2nd index which one is inactive and time period for 8weeks and 2days..?? becasue i don't need it. and it will make any problem in future ?

The upgrading sequence is : Switch 2, Switch 1, Switch3.The aim of the test is to prove that there is no loss of IP connectivity throught the RSU process.During the RSU process, there are ping between all the computers.
IOS starting version : 15.0-1.SE3
IOS upgrading version (with OVERWRITE) : 15.0-1.SE3 (same version)
1rst step : Switch 2 reboot and come back master but isolated from original stack (switch 1 and 3)
2nd step : Switch 1 reboot, and come back with switch 2 into the upgrading stack.
Issue : at this step :
- Switch 1 put its interface (IP 192.168.5.254) up :
- Switch 3 has not reboot and still has its interface (IP 192.168.5.254) up
=> we have some OSPF adjencies and mac flapping issues : switch 1 and 3 are trying to mount there OSPF adjencies on the same IP. We loss our IP connectivity since step 3 is not over.
3rd step : Switch 3 reboot and come back up in the upgrading stack. The IP connectivity is back, and the RSU process is done.Is that a normal behaviour ?How can we avoid to loose IP connectivity during RSU process ?

I have upgraded my Catalyst 3750X-switches to software-version 15.0(2)SE2, but I cannot upgrade the 10G servicemodule to the same version. I use the archive download-sw command to load the c3kx-sm10g-tar.150-2.SE2.tar. The file is loaded to the switch, but when the process starts to transfer the file to the module it fails with the following messages:
Error 2: Unable to transfer image to FRU Modul on switch 1Error: Failed to update FRU Module image

View 3 Replies View RelatedDue to a problem with POE+ i have tried to upgrade the IOS to Version15.0.2SE2, from 12.2.58. unfortunatly the Switch doesn't boot up anymore. It starts to decompress and install the IOS 2 Times, after the Second try it displays "unable to boot" and the switch goes in Bootloader-mode. When i look at the version i See that bootloader is still the old version 12.2.58. It seems that the bootloader doesn't geht upgraded and that's why the Switch can't Boot the new Image.

IOS Upgrade works well if you use the command force-reload, without force-reload, it won't work. --"of course with this command the complete stack will go down and the purpose of RSU will not serve"
Then they pointed me to a bug that I could not find in the bug tracker unless I searched by the bug ID number ?? CSCua78897
Unfortunately this bug has a closed status and is not slated to be fixed ?
Are there issues with the auto upgrade feature for 3750X stacks, either historically or currently?
Some people prefer to upgrade switch stacks manually by disconnectiong the stack cables and uprading code on each switch.
I've done the manual procedure in the past and have not tried the auto upgrade (I have the procedure for the auto upgrade).

Power capacity adjusted to 2671.20W" then will bounce back to normal at random times from 1sec to 10sec. Is there a command to check what each input level of the power supply to try to identify possibly which source is causing the problem? It never happened before and the configuration did not change. The only thing that happened, the WAN connection (point-to-point to a Cisco 3845) went down and the router rebooted while the WAN was down. When the WAN came up again, everything went fine, until about an hour later and the first occurrence of this mentioned log.This 3945 does establish an IPSec tunnel with its peer (the 3845) and all the traffic, including OSPF, is going through the tunnel.
I have an C4900M with twingig converter and SFP GLC-LX-SMD in. So the SFP supports DOM function. It is running on 12.2(53)SG2.
I would to the see the optical power level of the SFP, but it does not recognize 'show interface transceiver' command as showed in 4500 software guide.
I have a Catalyst 3750X and 3750G configured in a stack. I need to break up the stack for failover reasons. My question is how do you determine what license's is on each of the switches. For the MDF I would like to use 2 Nexus 5548's with FEX's, and the layer 3 daughter board. For the IDF's I was thinking of two 4010's.

I came across a document that stated “On switches running the LAN base feature, static routing on VLANs is supported only with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(58)SE and later.” So I have upgraded to 12.2(58)SE2, but ‘ip routing’ is still not a valid command.
The release notes state:“On the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X and 3750-X Series, it adds support for 16 static IPv4 routes in the LAN Base image.”
I have read other posts that talk about running the ‘sdm prefer routing’ command which I have done, but I am still unable to add any routes or run the ‘ip routing’ command.
I have an 1811 with several subnets connected to it.I recently installed a 3750x plant and want to bring my interior routing back to it.
All the routing is handled by the 1811 via secondary interfaces on vlan1?
I have 192 ports, and subnets show up on almost all of them. None of the ports are assigned to any specific vlans. Most ports have several subnets on them.
What is the best approach to getting the 3750x to handle the routing?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a vm environment for a customer in my lab off site. I have two stacked 3750-x switches, a san, and threes UCS c220 M3S servers for hosts. I am trying to separate the lan traffic, san iscsi traffic, and san management traffic using vlans. The problem is i'm unable to communicate cross vlan with my current config, which I have attached to this post. The only noteworthy things in my conifg is that the ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.83.6 is referring to a switch stack they have on site, that I will connect this stack to using the first two trunk ports on each switch, that I do not have here in the lab. I don't want to cause any confusion in why I have things set a certain way.
