Cisco Switching/Routing :: 4500 Series Switch Auto Reboots

We are facing cold start issue on 4500 series switch. The switch is restarting automatically almost weekly twice or thrice.As per show tech. output , there is "cold start log".Please find the attached logs for your reference.After time change , auto restart happening & am not found any log for power failure also.
I have configured a SVI in my 4500 ( Sup 7-E 10GE,,,,,,and,,,,,cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.02.00.SG.150-2.SG.bin) switch and it is showing Down Down, because there were no active switch port in the vlan, I added one switch port to this vlan but this port also in the down state, so i added the SWITCH PORT AUTO STATE EXCLUDE command under this port, even after this also the SVI never came up, So i added one systen to the port so both the switch port and the SVI came up...So why SWITCH PORT AUTO STATE EXCLUDE command have no effect in this model of the switch..
We have a 4500 series switch that is running around 39% cpu utilization but seems to be dragging a bit. I did a show platform health and GalChassisVp-review has a target of 3% but an actual of 17%. All other actual values were at or below target values. I then went to show platform cpu packet statistics and in the "Packets received by Packet Queue" all queue packet values at 5 sec, 1 min, 5 min and 1 hour avg were either 0 or 1 with the exception of Esmp - that averaged 351/377/317 and 313 respectively. I then checked show platform hardware acl input entries static and the entry type InputEsmpToCPU had a whopping 10121370 hit count. All other entry types were well under that number.
I configured Auto QoS on some access ports on two 4506-E (Sup 6E-L) and I wanted to apply the same generated config on the port channel/port channel members but it didn't work.
Ex: int gig1/3 service-policy input AutoQos-VoIP-Input-Cos-Policy % A service-policy with non-queuing actions should be attached to the port-channel associated with this physical port.
Our company will go to buy a core switch 4503. What is the difference between the Catalyst 4500 E-Series Supervisor 7L-E and the Catalyst 4500 E-Series Supervisor 7-E?
Does a new Cisco Catalyst 4500 series supervisor 7L-E model WS-X45-SUP7L-E is backward compatible with a Cisco Catalyst 4500 series chassis model 4507R? I've checked on Cisco website for that Supervisor and it shows only new chassis models WS-C4507R+E and R-E, but what about old type of chassis? We need to upgrade that Supervisor as it's out of line, but we don't really want to buy a new chassis as well as it's going to be very pricy.
I'm thinking about using a 3750 stacking around 4 or 5 switches intead of using one 4500 series switch.
1-My first argument was concerning the budget (one 4500 instead of four or five 3750 in stack mode) ---- Here i think 4 or 5 stacked 3750 is cheap than one 4500 2- My second argument was about harware redundancing that i don't have with one 4500 and that i have with stack mode ----Here i have more hardware redundancing with 3750 3- The bug that we notice today in 2960 and 3750 and not in 4500 4- Simple to manage a 4500 compare to 3750 stack design 5- I was looking also for the one with best backplane ----Here i didn't have any infos concerning the best backplane between 4 or 5 stack 3750 and a 4500. 6- I'm also looking for power redundancing.
I wonder are 4500-E series line cards (i.e. WS-X4648-GB-RJ45, WS-X4748-UPOE+E and WS-X4606-X2-E) supported on 4507R chassis? Datasheet says "Classic line cards may be deployed in both classic and E-Series chassis with either classic Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series supervisor engines or with the Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series Supervisor Engine." But it says nothing about E-Series line-cards being (or not) supported on classic chassis (like 4507R).
When the 4500-E series switch boots and if you issue a 'show run' there's several Star Wars themed references and their revisions. What these actually are and why they are using Star Wars terminology?

What's the difference between a Catalyst 4500 and a Catalyst 4500E series chassis? I believe it has to to do with supporting PoE+? Are the blades in both series interchangeable?
working first time on switch 4507 , this is my 2nd week and i plug the console on this 4507 switch , the switch reboots automatically it comes to stage mention below and reboots. My question is i have not seen any error message on this switch and it reboots automatically so what is the problem.

I need to apply DHCP snooping on 4500 series switches working as L2 in my Network. We have external DHCL Server in another location connected with 6500 series switch.

I have four-switch Cat 3750 stack that has been working reliably for a couple years. Suddenly the other morning it reboots itself, and has been doing so every 24 hours since. take a look at the attached log? This should really be a Smartnet thing, but as it turns out the warranty we have on this is not Smartnet .
We have Nexus 5K switches at the aggregation layer and VPC domain has been configured on them. VPC domain includes switches at the access layer as an identity.But when primary switch reboots failover didn,t happened. The Catalyst 3750 switch reboots, and the " Reloading because of stack merge or communication failure" error message appears.
I saw this issue at "Cisco wiki" but the resolution in that page is just "Open a case with TAC". Because of the reasion is H/W Problem.
Is The resolution only one ? anything else? The 3750 does not use Stack.It is just stand alone. So i think it has other resolution as "disabling Stack" or another one. How about my opinion ? Is the Resolution only "Open a Case with TAC"
We are going to be rolling the 4500 switches out and I wanted to know more about how to use the wireshark featue. Any documentation on how to use this?

We've ordered a 4500 core switch and 4948 Server Farm switch for our client, but the switch box does not include a IOS image CD or anything related to IOS image and now the client is asking us why is this item missing as the IOS

i configure the uplinks as etherchannel, i configure two svi interface on core switch int vlan 51(192.168.51.1) and int vlan 50(192.168.50.0) for this two svi int i configured two dhcp pool , when any of the pc is requesting for dhcp add i am getting dhcp request failed/
I have a Cisco 4500. Recently some of the ports seem to have "died"/ will not supply Poe to phones. Some work for data only. Other do not work at all. The switch has been restarted, this made no difference.
is it possible to run a Catalyst 4500 as pure Layer 2 Switch, i.e. disabling "ip routing", but still managing the switch via Fa1, i.e. the defautl mgmtVrf vrf ?I tried the following:

I was not able to reach the Switch even from the same subnet. Only after enabling ip routing I could manage the Switch. I haven't found any command to set ip default-gateway for a vrf. Any workaround to keep routing disabled, but still manageable via VRF?
How can I find out the firmware versions for IOS, modules and components of Cisco catalyst 4500 series switch. I can see the firmware version of IOS in show version command but how can I find it out for the modules or components of the switch.
i am trying to configure my HP 420 access point. I have configure different SSID on it, This access point is connected to cisco 4500 switch, i have configure trunk on up link to access point.my problem is the client are not able to get an IP address form the correct vlan if i tagged the SSID to it.

I was checking some things on my Cisco 4500 and spot checking some of the ports. Using CNA it says it is at 10. The web browser to the switch says Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is auto, media type is 10/100/1000-TX on port 6i/18 The CNA says, so what would cause the difference?

I have seen links out there for a conversion tool to convert commands on a Catalyst type switch (6509) to newer IOS type switches(4500-e) switches but they all error out on me on a 404. Any link where I can get this conversion tool?
I recently purchased the RV220W to upgrade by good, but aging RV042. I'm running the most recent firmware (1.0.2.4 as of this writing) and have noticed this router reboots daily. I'm guessing it's locking up and rebooting as it occurs as different times of the day. Compared to the RV042, this was a bit of a pain to setup especially with regard to port forwarding. I'm hesitant to reset and start over again especially since this is brand new.
