The two stacked Cisco 3750G Access switches on a particular floor in my coy just lost connectivity to the distribution Switch this morning. This meant that all Users connected to it couldnt connect to the Internet nor access local network resources.I couldn't ping the Switch IP, I couldn't also access the Switch via Console port. Each time I tried to gain access via the console port, I keep getting "Authentication Failed" message. What should I do next? How do I gain access to the Switch?
To setup SG300-20 as CORE switch and SF100-48 as Distribution switch.SG300-20 will have 2 VLAN(DATA and VOICE)
-192.168.14.1/24 DATA -220.127.116.11/24 VOICE
SF100-48 will also have 2 VLAN(DATA and VOICE)
-192.168.14.1/24 Desktop/Laptops -18.104.22.168/24 IP phones
Problem is when I tried to assign IP to any VLAN's the switch will just hang and loose my connection the light will stop blinking it will steady and i unable to access the switch until i turn off again?
i have a problem with a cisco cat. 4507 edge switch as when i have a login ssh session to the switch the supervisor engine restart and the redundant Sup. engine becomes the active and so on this problem mainly happen when i have multible SSH session to the switch and it happened very rarely with a single ssh login
the ios version i use is cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG which im using on all my edge switch and they are all working fine excpt this one
working first time on switch 4507 , this is my 2nd week and i plug the console on this 4507 switch , the switch reboots automatically it comes to stage mention below and reboots. My question is i have not seen any error message on this switch and it reboots automatically so what is the problem.

We are facing issue of high Latency and slowness with Switch Cisco 4507R at the Customer site.show logging for the Switch and if there is any IOS related issue [BUG] or some other finding for this case.
We will be connecting Cisco 4507 with Extreme Switches. We ran into spanning-tree issues last time. Extreme does not understand spanning-tree. So what i am thinking it to prevent bpdu advertisement from 4507 to extreme switches and also prevent incoming bddu from extreme switch to 4507. I am thinking of using
I will be start with the disclaimer that I am very technical, but a huge novice to the enterprise-grade Cisco swtiches.
How IOS software versions are licensed on a Catalyst 4507 switch? I am very confused at this point.
For example, if I buy IOS Enterprise Services for a new Catalyst 4507 switch, what form does the software license take? Is the license embedded on the switch? Does it come as an e-mail or certificate with a PAK? Does it come on a CD?
We sold a 4507 with Enterprise Services to a client, and they are saying they don't have the right IOS version installed. I assumed there must be some license key they needed, but the Cisco licensing help desk does not seem to indicate there are any licenesable items on our sales order number (even though IOS Enterprise Services is a line item on the sales order).
I know there was a disk that came with the switch with an Enterprise Services .BIN file on it, but I had assumed that was just a software version image, similar to the images I can download off the Cisco website. But is this actually the license key?
Since I can download image files off the Cisco website, I assumed there must be some other key needed to activate the license.
Switch is Catalyst WS-C4507R+E Redundant Supervisors are WS-X45-SUP6-E (Supervisor 6-E)
I was upgrading IOS on 4507 R with dual supervisor.I download the IOS on Active supervisior and did reboot. After reboot i login to switch then i got switch standby prompt.I found that after reboot active supervisior became standby supervisior.
Now new IOS is on standby supervisior.Need to confirm below..So this means that IOS does not syn within the supervisiors as compared to config right ?
-Which command i can use that will copy IOS from standby supe to Active supe?? -Which command i can use that will show both active and standby supe with new IOS? -Is there any command that i can use to switchover from active to standby supe??
We have a customer that has a fiber rum between 2 building. They want to have 2 seperate fibers active that terminate into the same switch on each end. (redundancy).
In building A they have an extreme networks black diamond switch that does not support STP.In bulding B they have a Cisco 4507.
We will ahve to use a layer 3 routed connection due to the fact their switch in building A does not support STP.Our tech does not want to use static route becuase he does not want to setup IP SLA for the redundant connection.
Will RIPv2 work for this scenario and failover to the other fiber if needed? The hop count is the same for each fiber path..
I have been trying to get the http server enabled so I can access Cisco Network Assistant. I have my interfaces configured but for some reason the server in not running, port 80 is still closed. [code]
In my ongoing project i need to monitor cisco 3750-X port status (uplink/downlink) i.e. whenever there is some problem at a specific port. I need to monitor it through an OPC server and right now what i am doing is as follows: i am using Kepserver and i have added SNMP driver in it for that purpose i am not a networking expert but what i have learnt till now is that SNMP agent (that resides in switch) delivers the status of MIBs to SNMP manager ( which in my case is kepserver (opc server)) for the above purpose i am adding IF-MIB to monitor OID 22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.1.8 (which shows port statuses) but when i add that in OPC server then it indicated that this OID is not available in the Switch ( it might be disabled) so i need to ask if there is any way to enable OID's in a switch,
i want use CACTI for monitor my bandwidth so i have a question how can i enable snmp for a switch port ? or i shoudl just enable snmp from configuratiopn terminal and then in CACTI i will choose which port will be monitor? can i do something that CACTI connect to my switch with a encryption key ? i have cisco 2960 48 port switch
I have a 3750x 48port POE switch that I installed a second power supply in. But it doesnt power on. Am I supposed to enable it in the switch somewhere? I've plugged it into a couple different outlets so I know that's not the problem.
using the 55xx as a L3 Distribution switch or even as a Core. By enabling the L3 features does it allow you enabled L3 SVI's for VLAN interfaces or are there interfaces on the daughter card that are used for routing instead?
Imagine I am designing a small network with a C2900 router running OSPF and in the future BGP with service provider. Please see attached diagram. The router is connected to (2) C3750 Layer 3 distribution switches. Then one C3560 layer 2 switch to serve future IP phone users and desktops.
a)If I connect the router interface to the (2) 3750 switches, if I make the router interface fa0/0 and fa0/1 as a trunk to accomodate VLAN 200 and other future VLANs, don't I have a problem with overlapping networks between router interface fa0/0 and fa0/1?
b)Alternatively, I could make the Router1 fa0/0 and fa0/1 configured with IP addresses and advertised in OSPF. Then the SW1 fa0/24 and and SW2 fa0/24 I could make as 'no switchport and create a routed interface port' with IP addresses, also running OSPF. Question is, from a scalable design perspectie, would you create 2 management networks and use those when assigning the IP addresses for Router1 fa0/1 and fa0/2? Because again Router1 fa0/1 and fa0/2 obviously need to be placed on different networks to avoid overlapping. So my question is more about proper network planning design to make this scalable to accomodate future VLANs in the future.Using trunks between the Router1 and SW1 option:
Router1 int fa0/0 description connection to SW1 no ip add int fa0/0.200
This is existing network diagram and find attached file for configuration of Router and L3 Switch:ISP provided 6 Mbps internet access link with ethernet Handoff which is terminated over Cisco 1841.ISP also provided pool of 30 Public ip's 188.8.131.52 /27 , range from 184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11.In my current setup, all Inside to ouside traffic going out through 18.104.22.168 public ip because this public-ip NAT overload with Router F0/1 interface.
1) I want to divide 6 Mbps link physically into three parts 2Mbps, 2Mbps, 2Mbps for three VLANs.
2) I want to also configure each vlan IN/OUT traffic with different Public ip. is it possible or not ?
Vlan2 = 172.25.162.0 /24 => Inside to outside / Outside to inside traffic through 22.214.171.124 Vlan3 = 172.25.163.0 /24 => Inside to outside / Outside to inside traffic through 126.96.36.199 Vlan4 = 172.25 164.0 /24 => Inside to outside / Outside to inside traffic through 188.8.131.52
How can i configure above desired setup with CBWFQ
I had a lot of questions when I began planning a pair of Nexus 7000 switches as a replacement for our 6500. How to publish my design and config. This is a medium sized network. I would have loved to see somone's configs for a similar implementation.
I have some questions in regards to network equipment I want re-utilize for my distribution layer in one of my buildings. The choices at the moment are:
OPTION 1.) 2x WS-3550-12G's (HSRP)
OPTION 2.) 1x WS-6509 with cards:
What option would be better from a performance aspect? We want to have network, voice, and wireless data go through this distribution layer switch(es). This is exisiting equipment I already have and can not buy anything else at the moment.
I am having a Cisco 4507 switch. The CPU on the switch is running between 50% to 60% constantly. To troubleshoot I collected some logs using debugs & show commands.
debug platform packet all receive buffer show platform cpu packet buffered debug platform packet all count show platform cpu packet statistics show processes cpu sorted | exc 0.00 show platform health show platform cpu packet statistics
show platform health output shows the below process crossing the target value.
%CPU %CPU RunTimeMax Priority Average %CPU Total Target Actual Target Actual Fg Bg 5Sec Min Hour CPU Stub-JobEventSchedul 10.00 13.41 10 47 100 500 13 13 10 5462:52 K2PortMan Review 3.00 5.35 15 11 100 500 4 4 3 1799:47
What I need to know is, though these process are running in Low Priority, will there be any issue if the CPU goes high due to these process.
We have recently purchased a 5Mbit line with a second ISP and will have the line activated tomorrow. In addition, we recently obtained our AS number through ARIN. How would I configure the second ISP to be used for load balancing/failover?
