I have an ASA 5505 with ipsec VPN configured on it. I am able to connect to the ASA but I can't ping a connected network. I get a dhcp assigned address in the network I am trying to reach but can't access that network on Vlan5.

Currently our VPNs were set up to use DHCP and local IP pools. It seems that I can get into the network, however the IP address the VPN gets was from the internal pool not From SERVER. As a result, the VPN is connected, by VPN is not able to ping to the router or the server. Is there anyway, I can configure the router treats VPN as the physical port. then the active domain server can assign the IP address to VPN.
I have an issue accessing the inside network of my church from VPN. This only happens when I connect from my home network. I have no problem accessing inside network of my church if I'm connected from else where (my Clear Hotspot or someone else's house). Here is the hardware detail:

I'm trying to make a very plain and simple network with the ASA 5505, I've strated from scratch over a dozen times triyng to find where I'm going wrong. My main goal is to simply create an IPSec VPN connection to my ASA 5505 and simply ping and connect to devices with the "inside network", so far I can easily create and establish a IPSec VPN Connection, but up to this point, I cannot successfully ping or access a single device on the ASA 5505 inside network.I've taken, create the IPSec profile with the ASDM wizard, add exemption for the VPN IP Pool, add access-list from this Cisco link, url...All this and I can't make a single connection to the inside network. On both sites we have a ASA5505(Base license) to terminate the tunnel.On Site B we also got a remote access vpn to which we can connect using the vpn client.The lan2lan tunnel works fine and so the remote access vpn.Now i want to connect to Site A using my vpn client connected to Site B. [code] There are no vpn-filters or other special policys in place..If tried to ping from my vpn client to Site A while i was debugging ipsec 255 on site B: the asa matched the l2l-tunnel for traffic sourced from 192.168.25.x to 192.168.13.x but when im doing a show crypto ipsec sa detail there are no packets getting encrypted..so of course no packets reaching my asa on site a.
I am trying to access and ping the inside interface of a ASA5505 from a remote network. From the remote network, I am able to access anything on the local network, but the ASA5505 inside interface.The 2 networks linked by a fiber link which have a transport network on another interface. From the remote network, I am able to ping the transport network interface IP, but I would like to be able to ping the inside interface IP. When I do a packet tracer, I get a deny from an implicit rule.How can I achieve that?
Here are the subnets involved and the ASA5505 config.
Remote network : 10.10.2.0/24
Local network : 10.10.1.0/24
Transport network : 10.10.99.0/24

When remote workers - working say from home connect into the company's LAN via an ASA5505, is it then possiable to then go back out to the internet using the ASA as the gateway to the internet.It works if I point towards an internal proxy server.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSanta got a second-hand acer mini-laptop for my daughter this last Christmas and she accidentally pour some coke in it, I took it to the shop and I had to pay to repair it; when I got it back, the first thing is that originally it has Windows 7 and now XP, I thought it was ok, but even though I use my network passkey and everything, it quickly connected to the network showing internet access but when I open IE, it shows a message to diagnose connection problems, I run the repair wizard and nothing, but all the time it is showing that the connection is working, will I need to take it back to the shop or is there something I can do?

It will connect to the network, but times out when trying to access any webpages. All other devices are able to connect to the network and access the internet with no issue. This network is unsecured, so no password is required to access.

I can't connect suddenly to the Internet. I tried both Wired and Wireless connection to my laptop. The icon is showing that my laptop has detected the connection but has no internet access.Showing in my screen is: Connected to Network. IPV4 no internet access, IPV6 no internet accessI tried using my iPhone to connect via the wireless connection and I could get browse the Internet with it.. hence i'm sure the problem lies with the laptop.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have three computers at home: 2 desktops and 1 laptop and they all run windows 7. For a week now I haven't been able to connect to the internet from one of the desktops. The initial setup was wireless and worked fine for years. I've tried every advise I could find online: Powered off and on the modem and the router, disabled and enabled the adapter, reseted WINSOCK and TCP/IP, assigned a permanent IP address, did a system restore to the last day the internet worked, turned off windows defender (windows firewall has always been off), turned off Webroot, I bought a new wireless USB adapter which connected to the network but still no internet access and my last resort: I got a really long ethernet cable and connected directly to the wireless router AND then directly to the modem... NOTHING! Still says that I am connected to an unidentified network and that there is not internet access.

It connects me to the internet, but then after a few minutes on the task bar where it tells you what you are currently connected to a yellow (!) shows up. It tells me that I am connected to my network, but it says that I do not have any or sometimes even limited internet access. I have other computers in the house (3 laptops, sometimes 4, and 2 desktops) that do not have any issues connecting or staying connected to the internet. View 15 Replies View RelatedI have no admin privileges or access to the router, I have contacted support and they've tried various fixes on their end and just told me it must be a problem on my side. the network registers a mac address under your account name and then assigns an ip.My problem is that my comouter connects to the network fine, and tells me I have internet access, but I can't actually access the internet when I try. I'm definitely connected to the network as i can access the ask4 page that allows me to register a new device, which i access with an ip address of 10.142.0.1 so I'm guessing that's stored locally somewhere on the network. I have tried internet explorer, FireFox and chrome, as well as connecting through game portals and none of them are able to access the internet.
IE gives an error that it says can't be fixed as its an error with the server and Chrome gives error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET). I've tried various fixes, some of which have worked temporarily. After trying most of them I've had internet access that has lasted between 5 minutes and a few hours, but the problem has always returned and the same fix that worked first time hasn't always worked again. I have an xbox that I connect to the same network port in the wall and that accesses the internet perfectly. My computer has 2 Ethernet ports and both have the same problem.
My network adapters are 2 NVIDIA nforce networking controllers (drivers are up to date)When the problem started I was on Windows vista, but I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit as an attempt to fix it.I've tried different Ethernet cables, connecting both ports, uninstalling my network adapter drivers, disabling and re-enabling them, resetting my IE settings, disabling and uninstalling my AntiVirus,connecting through an Ethernet switch and disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe set up a site-to-site-vpn between a 5505 and a 5510 (both asa8.3.1). We configured both sides using the VPN-Wizard in the ASDM. When we try to ping from the network behind the 5505 (192.168.45.0/24) to any host behind the 5510 (192.168.0.0/24) the tunnel gets established but the ping doesn't get trough. After that we tried to connect via RDP to any host behind the 5510 and it worked well (same with ssh, telnet,vnc etc.). Now we want to map a network-share on a 2008-Server behind the 5510 but it's not working. In the ASDM-Log I see some "denied by inside-access in"-messages for the ports 139 and 445. Isn't it right that the whole traffic in the vpn-tunnel bypasses the acl? Even if we open both ports we can't connect to the network-share?

My wired desktop cannot access the internet. Its still connected to my home network however. Every other computer on the network can connect to both the network and the internet just fine. the wired desktop is running windows xp. I have tried renewing the ip address, resetting IE settings, disabling the firewall, and I am currently running an anti-virus scan.

I connect to my home wifi network and will have excellent signal strength, but after about 20 minutes or so, I will lose internet access, but will stay connected to my wifi network. If I join my neighbor's wifi network I will have the same issue.I will connect to a network, and while still connected, I will suddenly lose internet access (signal strength will remain the same). Switching networks doesn't correct the problem.
When I lose internet, I can disconnect from the network and reconnect mere seconds later and will have the internet access back again.I have reset the modem/router and my computer numerous times but the problem does not go away.
I have a Netgear DGN2000 router wired to a desktop machine running windows 7. In another room i have another desktop machine running windows XP. I have a netgear WN111v2 network adapter connected to this machine. The network adapter says it is connect to the router, the icon in the bottom right hand corner is green and the signal strength is in high 90%s, yet when i start up internet explorer the message i get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Also, in the house there is a laptop running windows 7 (connected wirelessly - no problems) another laptop running windows xp (connected - no problems) and an Xbox 360 (connected ok). Been on to netgear tech support all they could suggest was to lower the security settings on the router, ultimately lowered down to disabled - still nothing. Disabled homegroup on the windows 7 machine still nothing running out of ideas now.
I just received a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC. When I try to connect to my internet, it connects, but attempts to "identify" the connection for about 10 seconds then it says "Undentified network" and fails to have internet access. 2 other computers are connected to this network with no problem. I've tried resetting everything, and many other "fixes" for this exact problem from other forums. There is a problem with establishing an internet connection between my laptop and any wireless network, and hence the internet cannot be accessed. Though, the connection can be established locally between my laptop and the wireless network for a short while before the connection is lost locally. There is certainly no problem with my current wireless router as there are internet connections between the wireless network and other devices. Prior to using the current wireless router, I used Linksys WRT54G for internet connection until recently when there was no connection between all devices and the Linksys wireless router, so I changed my wireless router to the current one. However, the problem still persists for my laptop. I can only get access to internet when my laptop is connected to the router using ethernet cable, as well as when my laptop is connected to the main cable modem using the same cable.My laptop model is Fujitsu Lifebook S Series and my laptop is running on Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and my current wireless router is Belkin N300 Wireless N Router Model F9K1002v1.What I have done so far are that I have ensured that the DNS client and DHCP client service are enabled and that I have used the method of "/release, /dnsflush and /renew" on the command prompt.Below is the /ipconfig /all description when this laptop is connected to the cable modem using ethernet cable:

I have been using Dell Vostro-1320 laptop with Windows XP. It was running good. Recently I have installed the McAfee Internet Security software. But now I do not have internet access through this laptop although the network icon shows "connected". I have tried all the advice/solutions for such type of problem by doing Firewall off/on and changing adapter & network setting. I also updated all the drivers. But nothing works. It is notable that my other desktop is working properly in spite of installing this software.
