Cisco VPN :: Setup L2L IPSec VPN Between VPN3020 Concentrator And 2811?
Feb 22, 2011
I am trying to setup a L2L IPSec VPN between cisco VPN3020 concentrator and Cisco 2811 something is not working and I don't understand why.I describe my situation in detail my router has 2 interfaces
External interface Fa 0/1 ip 193.P.Q.R
Internal interface Fa 0/0 141.G.H.254
Lan on internal interface is 141.G.H.0/24
remote VPN concentrator has 2 interfaces
Public interface 131.A.B.C
Private interface 131.A.I.E
I have to set up L2L so that host 141.G.H.10 can talk to host 131.A.H.D whici is behind the VPN concentrator my router config:
crypto isakmp policy 3 encr 3des hash md5 authentication pre-share group 2crypto isakmp key * address 131.A.B.C!crypto ipsec transform-set presid-set esp-3des esp-md5-hmac !crypto map presid-map 5 ipsec-isakmp set peer 131.A.B.C set transform-set presid-set match address presid!interface FastEthernet0/1 ip address 193.P.Q.R 255.255.255.252 duplex full speed 100 crypto map presid-map!interface FastEthernet0/0 ip address 141.G.H.254 255.255.255.0 duplex auto speed auto!
ip access-list extended presid permit ip host 141.G.H.10 host 131.A.H.D
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 193.P.Q.S
Then I configured VPN3020 accordingly creating a lan to lan profile with the proper IKE proposals ecc ecc when interesting traffic is matched by VPN acl (presid) I see this messages in the VPN concentrator logs:

and from router side I See this with show crypto isakmp sa

We have to setup an IPSEC tunnel for a client that does not what to exchange private IP address information for security and overlapping address space reasons. We will both be natting our source private ip address space as public IP address space and send those packets through the established tunnel. Im using a Cisco 3000 concentrator.

I have been trying to setup a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two sites that are using a 3000 series CISCO Concentrator. After following the basic setups from the CISCO site, I am still unable to create a tunnel. At the moment I'm starting to believe it is how I have physically setup the network. Site 1 is using a Billion BiPAC 7404VNPX ADSL2+ Modem, Site 2 is using a Netgear DGN2000 ADSL2+ Modem, The VPN Concentrators are setup behind these devices with each firewall setup to allow the needed ports forwarded.

I've the following scenario VPN Concentrator is connected to a router which is connected to a router and at the edge Cisco 515E PIX is connected to the internet. The problem is that the normal VPN Dial-up connection (a utility of windows) are getting connected but Cisco VPN Client throws error 412. Here's what I've tried (Initially groups and user were created):
(1) Allowed port 10000 on PIX ( access-list from-outside-coming-in permit tcp any host <public ip> eq 10000) and checked IPSec over UDP on VPN Conc. under Mode Config tab. Also checked IPSec over TCP tab under tunneling panel at port 10000. Tried connecting through VPN Client but it threw error 412
(2) In the reference guide, I read that IPSec over NAT is allowed on ports ranging from 4000 something to 40000 something.
I tried 33333, both on PIX and VPN Conc. under Mode Config tab but still no use. Same error 412.

We have a remote office that needs to be connected to the central office through a site to site ipsec VPN.At the central site there is a 2811, and at the remote site there is 1841.Most of the traffic will be VoIP traffic and small amounts of data.
I need to setup some QoS that would firstly prefer the VPN traffic over internet access and then inside the VPN I need some QoS that will preffer VoIP over data.

I am having problems with CPU load on 2811 with AIM-VPN-II. There is a GRE+IPSec over E3 WAN link and the authentication is done using RSA, but even that there is around 10Mb/s of traffic I have a 70 - 85%. I also have another WAN link with router 2811 that doesn't have a AIM-VPN, and that one reach 95% CPU once the traffic goes up to 5 Mb/s.

Are there any recommendations that RSA authentication is not supportted for hardward encryption? It worries me, becouse have more sitautions like this.

I have a 2811 that is my HQ router with a 10MB pipe. I was trying to configure a IPSEC tunnel to connect to my ASA that has access to our companies internal servers on the 10.33. and 172.16.31 network. I am having a problem getting phase 1 to even come up. I've looked over the configurations and unless i'm overlooking something I dont see what could be keeping it from at least completing phase 1
Below are the configs.

I'm now trying to implement a IPsec VPN network over transport mode in my simple network environment.I got two Cisco 2811 routers connected each other and each router hosts a client PC running Windows7.
I have finished the configuration on both routers and make them running over transport mode. However, as what it should be, transport mode indicates the communication between two end stations (two PCs) the client PC (install or configure something) to make the network fully works?

My router is Cisco 2811 with IOS version 12.4(22)T1. It had established IPSec with another peer (203.*.*.250 shown below) for long until recently we make it re-establish IPSec VPN with another peer (203.*.*.30 shown below). It showed that the new sa is active but the result still showed there were 4 deleted SAs. The 4 obsolete sa entries won't vanish no matter what I do i.e. reset the interface, re-create crypto map, clear all sa and etc.
From numerous testings we knew that the VPN doesn't work even the desired sa is there remaining active. I reckon it has something to do with those deleted sas ( i mean it is supposed to show only the last one if it is working fine ). I don't know how it would be come like this as we did pretty much the samething on other VPN routers with no problems.

setting up IPsec for a DMVPN between a 2811 and 2951s in a test lab. I have enabled IPsec on the hub (2811) but I am unable to do so on either of the 2951s. After researching, it seems that I may have the incorrect IOS for this, but I am at a loss which IOS I should be using. Currently the 2951s are on "c2951-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T2.bin" and the only crypto options are(config)#crypto ?
ca Certification authority
key Long term key operations
pki Public Key components
while on the 2811 I get:
WIN-T(config)#crypto ?
ca Certification authority
call Configure Crypto Call Admission Control
ctcp Configure cTCP encapsulation
dynamic-map Specify a dynamic crypto map template
engine Enter a crypto engine configurable menu
gdoi Configure GDOI policy

I've setup a NTP service by using Cisco 2811 routers. This works fine at the moment, but in the end there are some questions left.
1. I'm using two 2811 Routers, one for primary, which is resceiving the time from PUBLIC NTP 1, and one for backup, which is resceiving the time from PUBLIC NTP 2. Is it possible to compare these to times an check if the match? And if not, generate an alarm via e.g. SNMP
2. Is it possible to check via SNMP, if the routers are reaching PUBLIC NTP 1 and PUBLIC NTP 2 for sync?

I am pretty new to the configuration of a DMZ and I have the task of setting one up.I have a Cisco 2811 Router running Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3), 2 FE interfaces. One FE is connected to the WAN, with a loop back interface configured with the public IP for Internet access in the office. The other FE has 2 sub interfaces configured, one for data and the other for voice traffic.Users within the office are configured to use the data VLAN to access the internet through the WAN.
Now we are setting up some new services and we require to have DMZs setup.I want to setup 3 zones now that the different servers would reside in. How can i achieve this using the existing infrastructure I have?I have an idea to create more subinterfaces and assign them to the zones, but I am still not sure how this would play out. I have been on this for the whole day and unable to make significant progress.

I don't see a problem but just want to check if it would work on terminating on Inside interfaces on both ip sec peers.

I would like to set up a POTS Dial connection between 2 Cisco routers, using the modem card WIC-1AM-V2. I'd like to use this as an out-of-band connection to a remote site, if the primary internet connection fails. So, this setup will only be used in one direction, 1 router placing calls, the other one receiving calls. Here's my config of the receiving router:
chat-script dial "" ATZ AT OK "ATX3D T" ATS0=8 TIMEOUT 120 CONNECT C
interface Async0/2/0 description out of band for network no ip address encapsulation slip async mode interactive
line 0/2/0 session-timeout 5 absolute-timeout 10 script connection dial login local modem InOut transport input all escape-character BREAK autoselect ppp stopbits 1 speed 115200 flowcontrol hardware
[code]....
This config is working fine, when dialing in via a Windows Hyperterminal Dial connection. After a while of dialing I get the login prompt of the router. Now I want to have a router placing calls instead of a Windows Server. I can't figure out how to tell a router to place calls to a POTS phone number.
Receiving router: 2811, WIC-1AM-V2, IOS c2800nm-ipbasek9-mz.124-25a
Calling router: 1841, WIC-1AM-V2, IOS c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-25a

We're in the process of setting up an ASA 5510 as our main VPN appliance.
The Outside interface of the 5510 faces our DMZ, the Inside interface sits on our main network. The 5510 uses radius for authentication going to a server on the same subnet for the authentication. That works fine. VPN client can connect to the 5510 and successfully authenticate. Routes are pass through to the VPN client, no problem. PC with VPN client can access internet (which is by design, it should use it's own internet connection), but cannot ping/access/trace over the tunnel at all.
My hunch is that this is a nat issue - but I am confused as to how the NAT should be configured - I've tried several configurations with no luck.
The VPN client is set to pull an ip address from the pool - 192.168.56.10 - 100. The 5510 is sitting on a separate subnet (50.x/22). This seems to work on the Cisco 1700 that it will be replacing just fine. I mirrored routes and ACLs as well onto the new 5510. No luck. Client connects, authenticates, pulls an IP address and routes, but can't see anything on the inside of the 5510.

I'm having trouble setting up a second IPSec VPN tunnel on my Cisco ASA 5505 to another office. I was able to setup the first one with no problem through the ASDM, but have not been able to get the second one up.The IPSec tunnel is connecting to a WRVS4400N router at the other office. I tried debugging crypto isakmp, and crypto ipsec, but I'm getting nothing. Below is the config. Does something look wrong on my end? I also attached a screenshot of the parameters setup on the remote router.

We currently have a client that uses the IPSec VPN Client to remote in to their PIX 501. When they connect, it secures communication and immediately connects/minimizes and the tunnel-group name/password is sufficient so no prompt for a username/password from a local/radius database.
When setting this up on a newly purchased ASA, a username/password is prompted every time they try to connect. Is there a way to eliminate this feature or a command in the tunnel-group or group policy so that a username/password is not required after the connection profile establishes the VPN? It is ASA 8.4.

how to setup a both ends of an IPSEC VPN tunnel using a software client such as shrewsoft vpn and an 800 series router?
I've tried following the instructions on cisco's site, but I don't really understand which interface I should use? Dialer, VLAN1 or UnNumbered to a Loopback?
I'm OK with most basic features of the router, but never had any luck with VPNs?

We are setting up an old office building as an offsite data center. The network cosists on a PIX 501 firewall and a 2811 router. I am attempting to setup a GRE tunnel over IPsec back to the main office. The main office consists of a PIX515, a 2821 router, and a 2921 router.
There is also an ASA5510 in our main office that is used as our primary connection for all of our external services and as a GRE endpoint for our other offices. The PIX515 is used to connect our main office clients to the internet and we would like traffic between it and our offsite data center to go across it as well. The default route is to use the ASA. We used policy based routing on the 2821 and 2921 routers to direct the appropriate traffic to the PIX515. Right now I am not able to get the tunnel setup. It appears that the offsite datacenter is sending packets but is not receiving any when I issue the “show crypto ipsec sa” commands on both firewalls. I will show the output of that command below.
