Cisco WAN :: 12416 / BFD-triggered Fast Reroute (FRR) In IOS XR?
Aug 18, 2010
I'm migrating the configuration from a Cisco 12416 router running Cisco IOS, to a CRS1 router running IOS-XR.In IOS I have configured the following command for FRR "ip rsvp signalling hello bfd". I cannot find the way to configure this parameter using IOS-XR.

I got an issue when configure my 12416 router.
I plan to configure Static route load-balancing, which just assign different administraive distance to static routes. The route with lower distance is preferred. For example, if ISP A is our primary Internet provider the default route may be configured with a distance of 1 (all static routes are assigned this administrative distance) and the default route through ISP B may be configured with a distance of 100. In that case the default route through ISP B will be used if only the route through ISP A becomes unavailable.
But when I trying to configureWith Enhanced Object Tracking to do the route failover (a generic track object can monitor presence of an ip route, state of an SLA), I found my IOS not support such Track command. [code]

I'm trying to enforce a triggered EEM applet with an ACL rule. Is this even possible? I've been searching for weeks, but the closest thing I can find is using an SNMP evenst, which isn't what I'm looking for. I've looked at the list of event triggers (and I've used resource events before), but I can't find anything that works.
I'm specifically trying to switch packet capture on/off (with a script or EEM applet) on some 2900 series routers. I have 2960s and 2911s.

Last evening when I turned on lights a circuit breaker was triggered. I turned it back on and it didn't trigger again. I went to sleep but when I woke up this morning and turned on my pc I noticed that I couldn't get online. I checked my router and it was dead - no lights at all. I've tried unplugging it, letting it stay unplugged, hitting reset etc... but to no avail.Lighting and the electric outlets are behind separate circuit breakers, but the only explanation I can think of is that the triggering of the cb and my 825 dying are linked. Am l looking at a dead router or is it more likely that the power adapter got fried? I don't have a fluke at my place right now due to early packing in preparation to moving away in a couple of months time so I cannot test the output voltage of the adapter right now. . Where can I get a replacement power adapter if that happens to be the culprit?

My internet only seems to be quick when I'm next to my router(around 15mb), or when I have a decently fast speed (4-5mb) sometimes in my room, I can't load any games such as HoN unless I alt-tab out of the window and load a internet screen. Could it be the router?

Have a controller based depolyment with (2) 5508s and an 1121 ACS appliance running 5.1 code. Controllers are setup identically and we are radius authenticating users to AD via the ACS. Everything works great on the primary controller, but when I test failover to the secondary controller, my authentication fails and I get the following error message in my ACS logs:
12126 EAP-FAST cryptobinding verification passed
12147 Machine Authentication is disabled
12161 Cannot provision Authorization PAC when the stateless session resume is disabled
12106 EAP-FAST authentication phase finished successfully

I am using a Samsung N210 with 2GB of memory in it and Windows 7 Starter. When I use the wireless connection the "Connection Status" shows as 72Mbps, which is to be expected considering I am only a few feet from the router.the speed is nothing like that in reality. I tested the actual transfer speeds for the wired and wireless connections by copying a 238MB folder with 77 photos in it. I copied it from the NAS device, where I store all my files, to the local disk of the netbook.

I currently have 2 PCs that are directly connected to each other via a 1Gbs Cat6 connection.I don't currently have a 1Gbs router so what I am doing right now is unhooking this connection and reconnecting both machines to my router when I need internet access. I have ordered some USB Wi-Fi adapters so I can have both machines access the internet that way whilst still use FTP between them on the 1Gbs line.If I were to scrap that idea and get a 1Gbs hub, connect both PCs straight into that, and then also connect the hub to my 100mbits router, would the 2 computers be able to communicate with each other at 1Gbs and then talk to the router at 100mbits, or would the whole network run at 100mbits.I don't really want to have to shell out on a 1Gbs router as I don't need anything else on the network to run at that speed.

I am having a heck of a time finding information on this. I have a 2620xm router that only has one Ethernet port on it. Is there an expansion I can get that allows me another Ethernet port. I have thus far assumed that all of the WIC cards won't allow me to attach to an Ethernet LAN.

In our setup we have WiSM modules installed on cisco 6506-E, ACS 5.3 virtual appliance. We are trying to implement EAP-FAST for our Wireless using WPA/WPA2 802.1x on the WLC side.
I have followed the instructions in the following document step-by-step: [URL]
Still I have no success. Tried most of the permutations on ACS EAP-FAST configuration.

We have some remote H-READ APs at a branch office and a 7921 phone which drops calls/loses audio when roaming between APs.We are just using WPA2 without any 802.1x or CCKM/PKC.
Do we absolutely have to set up a radius server/8021.x/EAP to enable fast roaming? We had 2 AP's autonomous with WPA2 before and roaming didn't seem to be an issue. We now have 4 APs over WLC in the same office and the phone calls are very unstable.

how is the IP configuration for this Fast Ethernet F0.
This is because usually we only assign IP to the BVI interface. Is it after that, the Fast Ethernet F0 automatically also be assigned the same IP?
As such, when goto the Fast Ethernet F0 by CLI, by using no shut then this will Enable the Fast Ethernet Port?

I had a question regarding the Cisco 2811. I tried fitting an NM 2FE-2W card and the fast Ethernet interfaces of the module never get recognized. Is there a special command to enable it or isn't the module supported at all by the router. If not , is there a way to have the router possess more than the 2 Fast Ethernet interfaces it already has? Let me know if any more info is needed from my end.
Another question I have out of curiosity. Is it possible to make the controller T1 port of a VWIC 1MFT-T1 or a VWIC 2MFT-T1 act as a fast Ethernet.

Is there a keyword that we use under the interface to specify that it is purely management?
We need to assure that the subnet and any node on that subnet is not shared with the default routing table.
how do we set the gateway for the management interface if the node we are sourcing the ssh session from is on a different private subnet?

Earlier today Comcast came to our house and upgraded our internet from 12 MB/s to 22 mb/s speed. We have a larger house using wifi internet with 3 laptops (2 XP, 1 Win7).Our wifi has always slowed down speeds on the computers. Our laptops were generally getting 3-6 download speed via speedtest.net.Then when we plugged in directly we got full 12 mb/s.So we figured, hey lets upgrade our internet to get faster speeds around the house!Today we are doing speed tests with the new 22mb/s and only my dad's win-7 laptop is getting 21mb/s via wifi. Even when right next to the router the other 2 laptops only max out at 6mb/s and can not go any higher. When directly connected they get the full 22mb/s.
why is it that one computer gets full speed via wifi when the 2 XP computers do not? It really seems like the speed has a cap at 6.35mb/s download, never goes higher on the speed test.Currently using a Linksys WRT160N Router. When I check the DHCP Client Table it shows that all computers are connected via Wireless-G so it's not a connection type.Is there a specific setting on the XP computers that are capping speed?

ISP provides us with 20 mb/s download speed. Both Toshiba laptops used to be able to attain this but after reinstalling windows xp on this laptop, it can only achieve 8mb/s. The other laptop will get 20 mb/s whether connected wired or wireless. For the life of me cannot figure what has changed. I have installed all windows updates including SP3 and updated all drivers via Toshiba website. It uses the Intel 3945b/g network card and the router is a motorola sbg 6580.Connecting wired will achieve 20mb/s so it has something to do with the wireless setup.Have tried connecting to router with WPA, WPA2, and no encryption but makes no difference.Testing right beside the router or 30ft away makes no difference.Have uninstalled/reinstalled network card but made no difference

I recently acquired a laptop from a friend, he was having problems with it and decided to just give it away and buy a new one, I took and it examined the problem, it is a HP Pavillion laptop running on Windows 7.When I booted it up it said "NO BOOTABLE DISK" or "NO BOOTDISK INSTALLED" or something of that nature.I realized that the harrdrive was fried so I bought a new harrdrive and installed it into the new laptop, reinstalled Windows 7 onto the laptop and installed all the required drivers.I don't understand why, my old laptop running on Windows XP, it runs fine and smoothly, pages open quick and downloads finishing fast and smoothly. But when it comes to the Windows 7 laptop, A 2mb file takes almost 30 mins just to download, web pages take forever to open up.

I need a place to share files between a few other people that:
1. Is fast and easy, like sharing files on a local network with gigabit hardware. Why not do exactly that? (see next point)
2. Has a permanent address to access the files, as if it were hosted on a website. The reason for this is the software I will be using to point to these files does not use relative paths. If it did use relative paths, I was simply going to setup a shared dropbox with all the files, but alas, that does not work. I want this solution to be future proof, so that no matter how much I change my setup, the file paths that my software is looking at will always remain the same.
3. (optional, but preferred) Ability to automatically backup these files. Like an rsync with amazon S3 or something.I am guessing there is a simple and widely used solution to this, like an ftp setup, just not sure how it all works.
