I used the ASA 5510 and in these days, facing the problem is internet is very slow. When i check in real-time log viewer debugging, i found the following logs 6|Jun 29 2011|15:47:53|106015|123.123.123.123|416|111.222.111.222|80|Deny TCP (no connection) from 123.123.123.123/416 to 111.222.111.222/80 flags ACK on interface Inside 4|Jun 29 2011|15:47:53|106023|123.123.123.123|852|111.222.111.222|80|Deny tcp src Inside:123.123.123.123/852 dst Outside: 111.222.111.222/80 by access-group "Internal_access_in" [0x0, 0x0] a lot of log message are come out and I notice that 111.222.111.222 ip is try to attack my network. In that moment, my network is very slow and nearly to be down. When I block with that ip by access list, network is up again. But after a few moment, attack from other ip, it's so terrible and so tired to block a lot of ip by acl.

My network topology consists of 3 directly connected routers where the central router contains sensitive data and i need to block traffic from ENTERING the LAN adjoined to that router. My issue is creating an access list to DENY traffic from entering the network connected to Fa0/1 but ALLOW traffic to exit from that network. I am using one class C network which is subnetted 7 times to provide me with the required LAN's.

im using microsoft network monitor to monitor all traffic in and out (public) and mirrored ports for local traffic, except wireless traffic as its connecting to the router. I want to use a wifi NIC on the server to broadcast, so wireless clients can connect via the server and obtain DNS and DHCP etc from there, therefor, monitoring all traffic.

So the SG300's have STP on them and prevent network loops when other switches on the network also support STP too. However, if someone plugs in a non-managed switch that doesn't support STP with a network loop, is there anything within the SG300 switches to isolate and/or prevent that from happening?
(I currently have port mirroring turned on for one port and a network sniffer attached awaiting the incident to happen again).

I have 30 branch all over the country.There we have Cisco 3825 Series router at HO, and 892/k9m 1841 and 1811 routers in BO.My branches are being connected to HO via dual link which has been linked with two ISPs,both are Layer 2 link provided by the service provider,
-ISP1 subnet: 172.19.0.0/24
-ISP2 subnet: 172.20.0.0/24
usually i have the route pointing to HO ip from each branch routers. [code] Where, there are four branches acting as the gateway for the branch router 172.20.0.13. What cause the problem,and how can I solve this issue permanently?

I recently had trouble connection to my Linksys WRT54G router. However, in this process I had to create a couple of new profiles/networks/SSID or whatever they are called. I now have one functioning network, but my router is still broadcasting the other two networks. How can I get my router to only broadcast the one network, I am currently using? I erased them from Vista, so that my own computer does not automatically log on to the, but that is clearly not enough. Since one of the networks is not secured with a password (dont ask why), my concern is that my neighbours can access it. BTW, I am using Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satelite A200.

So you've got broadcast networks - Ethernet, PPP networks such as serial & T1/E1 and then youve got Non-broadcast multi-access links such as Frame relay and ATM. I understand the concepts of each. That's not the problem.My question is, is it possible create a broadcast network (Ethernet) but also connect a router to another router via a PPP connection? Say to a specific branch for example. Just curious if you can use multipule link types.

I had an old G router that had an unsecured network. It died and I replaced it with an N router and installed a secured network. I have a cable modem with wires that goes to the router. From the router, I have CAT 4 wires going to several access points around the house. Into one of these acess points, I have pluged in a wireless access point that broadcasts wirelessly---unfortunately, it is broadcasting the old unsecured network. How can I make the wireless access point broadcast the new secured N network?

I'm having big problems with the 'ip default-network' command. [URL] I build the topology shown in the above link and it works well. Then I deleted the static route on router 2513 and removed the 'ip default-network' command. I configured RIP on all routers and issued the 'ip default-network 198.10.1.0' command on the upper right router. After that the default route is installed on the 2513 router.But when I configure EIGRP instead of RIP, the default route on 2513 is not installed:
Gateway of last resort is not set
131.108.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 131.108.99.0/24 is directly connected, FastEthernet1/1
L 131.108.99.1/32 is directly connected, FastEthernet1/1
161.44.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
[code]....
Network 198.10.1.0/24 is flagged as default network. I would expect the router to install a default route now but it does not. Experts are recommending to not use the 'ip default-network' command. But it is included in the Route exam so I try to understand it.

Our network feels slow and trying to find the best way to investigate this properly. We have Cisco chassis 4500 with mix of 3560/2950 Edge switches 1GB backbones and WLC/WCS in place. The network is broken into multiple V LANS and IOS on our switches haven't been updated in 3-4 years.
On a wireless laptop (G) with get throughput of 1-2MB/s transfer speed with usually 10 clients per AP and LAN we get anywhere between 7-15 MB/s transfer. Using wire shark on a wireless laptop we see a lot broadcast traffic from other clients and the same for LAN. What is the best way to troubleshoot performance issues on the network and where do I start?

I am working at a client site today on a routing issue. I am currently working on an issue where a 3750 switch running EIGRP will not update its neighbor router when a network statement is added to the eigrp instance.The neighbor is a 3825 router.
Both the switch and the router have a common network which is 192.168.36.0/24.
Both the switch and the router are in a neighbor adjacency.
Both boxes have "no auto-summ" in the routing configuration instance.
I can run debugs on both routers (debug eigrp packets) and then I can watch queries and updates when I issue "auto-summ" or "no auto-summ". Also I see a "graceful restart" for the peers when this is done.I had an expectation that when I added the network (this is just an arbitrary network for testing, which is 172.16.69.0/24). I wanted to watch this network being sent in an update to the neighbor router.When I add the above mentioned network, there are no updates packets sent from the 3750 to the 3845. I have not had success to this point trying to resolve. I have followed the Cisco document "Troubleshooting EIGRP Flow Chart", but have exhausted all it has to offer and now it is at the point where it is telling me to contact TAC.

I want to setup a DC++ HUB for sharing data within the university local network. We have addresses of the form 172.31.*.*. These addressed are accessible within the university bu non routable outside on the internet. My plan is to setup a local HUB for DC++ for sharing data within the university intranet. So even if internet is unavailable data can be exchanged through LAN. This HUB must not be accessable outsied the university network.how should I do this all..implementing network sharing other than DC++. My basic idea is that everybody can share their data and the data is searchable from one common interface( Web interface is better option, if possible). And data featching should prefferably be from many hosts, using multiple connections so that speed can be improved..

I have a home network running all Mac computers (though can run Windows VM if necessary) and a pair of USB printers. The wireless router and cable modem are in one room, but the printers are in another. I'd like to find the most practical way to add the printers to the local wireless network without sharing them from a computer. I've tried that for a while, but don't want to leave a laptop connected 24/7 just to enable wireless printing (rather defeats the purpose of a portable computer). I don't have any wired network lines in the home, and am not excited by the idea of running any cables.

There is a device which is connected to the PC via Lan. I have an exe file which is supposed to get connected to that device and perform some operations. However, the problem is, the exe file tries to connect to the local host ip address 127.0.0.1 and i cant change the ip since it's been coded.So, I'm wondering if i can use the device connection (which already has a different ip like 169....) as a local host connection. So whenever it tries to connect to the loopback 127... it automatically connects to the external device.

I am planning to deploy a "Digital Notice Board system" in my office, which gets feed from web server and display data/stream on LCD Screen. Well i am done with implementing all the interface on server side and its working pretty well with client side computer. But instead of using Client Side Computer, I just want to use LCD and make some network interface of Local Area Network directly with LCD (to save cost/installation/maintenance of a dedicated computer with LCD ).

i purchased vaio with win8. Under network icon, I can not see any other computers in the local network therefore not able to access shares unless i explicitly map the shares which is tedious.
On other computers running win7 and xp, each of them can see each other under network icon.However that is not the case with my laptop running 8. Actually i have seen once or twice all pc-s show up but most of the time, they dont appear.
I read somewhere that following service need to be checked to make sure they are running: upnp, ssdp in services. I checked those and they are all running.
I also enabled "turn on network discovery" under network and sharing->advanced sharing. setting. To make it more complicated there are private and public and all network setting. I enabled all items as follows:
1. Private Turn on network discovery is checked along with Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices Turn on file and printer sharing is selected Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections is selected.
2. Guest or public Turn on network discovery is selected Turn on file and printer sharing is selected.
With these settings I still dont see the local computers and their shares. Do I need to check anything else?

My firewalls are running in multiple context mode.According to my troubleshooting, the problem happens because of the following things:
1- The host 10.15.5.100 do a telnet to 10.0.6.100 using the default gateway that is the context firewall C2;
2- The packet go to the C2 and is forward through the interface e0/0 (direct connected);
3- The packet is delivered direct to the host,without passthrough the context firewall C1;
4- The host receive the packet and return the answer to the source host 10.15.5.10 using the default gateway 10.0.1.10;
5- The packet is received by the context firewall C1 and is dropped with the reason Deny TCP (no connection) syn ack;
I think the the problem is on step 4, the context C1 receive a packet that didn't pass by it before. Am I right?

We've one interface on the ACE which is connected to a firewall via switch. In the same vlan is a serverfarm.
net e.g. 172.16.10.0/24
the server's gateway is the ACE (172.16.10.1)
the ACE's gateway is the firewall (172.16.10.2)
when a server in another net 172.20.10.0/24 is connecting to 172.16.10.0/24, then the SYN is sent from the firewall directly to the server in net 172.16.10.0/24. because the firewall has an interface directly connected. the SYN-ACK is sent through the ACE (because servergateway is ACE).
> the ACE is NOT routing this packet back to 172.20.10.0/24 via firewall. routing-table is OK. in capture on ACE the packet is NOT displayed...
but when the server in 172.16.10.0/24 is initiating the session, the SYN is routed through the ACE and in capture I can see the packet...
if the ACE prevents routing without seeing SYN? (anti-spoofing ect...) know, I mean really ROUTING, not balancing...

Recently a router crashed and some suspicious about the client arised. The point is that now the order is to deny all kind of router admin access for the client. I was thinking, is this a good idea or will be better to give him limited access to the router, to avoid the client to try to access the router at all cost? Something like to stop the motivation to crack the router password.

I have 5 VLANs, I assign VLANs to its ports and make them all Untagged.I created ACLs and a ACE rules for each ACL, and then assigned to the ports.So what i am trying to do is to deny access to from one port to other 4 ports and granted access to any other ports. But it is not working, without last rule "allow any any" it has no access to any ports, with the last rule it grants access to every port even to those I denied.Router in Layer 3 mode, all VLANs have their IP's.
At some moment I was able to work it properly but without using any rules, I just tagged my untagged VLANs to those ports which I wanna get access to. As you can see I want allow ports GE1 - GE4 communicate with 1 to 24 ports but not to each other.
