Command Prompt To Show Devices On Network?
Jan 30, 2013I am running windows 7 HP. We have about 10 devices in one office and 5 devices connected thru a VPN..... When i hooked everything up 4 weeks ago I could see all the devices in the main office and the remote office connected thru the VPN (In the Network Folder that lists everything connected). Now I only see like 4 device and they are all in the main office.
I did some research a couple weeks ago and found a command prompt that "refreshed" all the devices that were connected, but now They are gone again and I cannot remember the command prompt!

Command Prompt Suddenly Appeared Copying Files?
Nov 18, 2012I was using my laptop - working in MS Word and hadn't even opend a internet browser and suddently a command prompt appears and all i managed to see before closing it from the task manager (which had it running through internet explorer i think) was that it was copying files.Its a work laptop so i would like to know if it was remote access from IT which seems doubtful on a Sunday or if i need to be concerned about security. Is there a relatively easy (considering i have zero programming experience) way for me to check if anyone logged on with remote access and who and what files were copied?

Jan 31, 2012Our network feels slow and trying to find the best way to investigate this properly. We have Cisco chassis 4500 with mix of 3560/2950 Edge switches 1GB backbones and WLC/WCS in place. The network is broken into multiple V LANS and IOS on our switches haven't been updated in 3-4 years.
On a wireless laptop (G) with get throughput of 1-2MB/s transfer speed with usually 10 clients per AP and LAN we get anywhere between 7-15 MB/s transfer. Using wire shark on a wireless laptop we see a lot broadcast traffic from other clients and the same for LAN. What is the best way to troubleshoot performance issues on the network and where do I start?

Message Saying It Had Two Network Adapters?
Jul 29, 2012It did work ok but not now.Even after I put the setup disc into it, it does not show that it has recognised the router. I can only get it to work by using an ethernet cable. I tried to install my router onto it and it came up with a message saying it had "two network adapters, please click on one of them" or words to that effect. It didn't show anything to click onAlso she has recently bought a new desktop computer (Windows 7) and when I was looking into the routers settings it is still showing her name of the old PC she has scapped in the Network. Therefore on the BASIC NETWORK INFORMATION screen it says Network 2. I know this is probably not important but if she ever buys a new PC in the future it will show Network 3So what can I do to get rid of the old computer name on the router settings?
