Command Prompt To Show Devices On Network?

I am running windows 7 HP. We have about 10 devices in one office and 5 devices connected thru a VPN..... When i hooked everything up 4 weeks ago I could see all the devices in the main office and the remote office connected thru the VPN (In the Network Folder that lists everything connected). Now I only see like 4 device and they are all in the main office.
I did some research a couple weeks ago and found a command prompt that "refreshed" all the devices that were connected, but now They are gone again and I cannot remember the command prompt!

I'm running Windows XP, SP3. This is a friends computer that I'm trying to fix. It had a virus which I removed, however it left behind a damaged computer. Now there are no network devices that show up in "Network Connections" or in Device Manager. I tried to reinstall the drivers, but I got this error: "The Realtek Ethernet Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug [sic] the Cable".

My PS3 recently got stolen. I was informed that the detective assigned to my case can contact Sony with the serial# and MAC address to track it down.I realize that there is this way:" If all you have is the serial number SCEA would need the MAC address, and only SCEJ has the "master list" of serial number to MAC address comparison. All SCEA would need from your local PD is an affidavit request / warrant (whatever their specific agency prefers to use or call them) asking SCEA to acquire said information."However, I also realize that I can find my MAC address through command prompt on my windows. However, there are more than one MAC addresses (or physical address as referred on the command prompt). My Question is, how do I know which one is the same as my PS3 MAC address?

I have two computers, one vista (Laptop) the other XP (Desktop). Now the problem is that i can't see my vista laptop on my XP, but both are connected to the same router (Netgear DG2200). The router also has a hard drive connected as a network drive WHICH i can see on the XP.
Problem is, nothing comes up on the Vista laptop except for the router and itself. Not even the network hard drive. I can view it on my PS3, though.
I noticed my lan is not enabled on my laptop, so how do i enable it? I tried diagnosing but it said to connect the lan cable.

I have AP which is not connected to switch.I console it and it gives error unable to to get IP from WLC.Need to know is there any way that i can go to command prompt of this AP without getting IP from WLC? I tried control + c etc it does not go to command prompt.

Im working for a client at the moment and I've had to setup a network printer for them, I've got 4 Windows 7 machines easily printing over the network to this printer that is connected wirelessly but they want one of there machines to use the scanning functionality of the printer.The scanner doesn't show up at all in the local network devices like the printer does and to be honest i don't really have any experience with scanning over a network to a windows 7 machine, but this printer does support scan to ftp so my idea is to setup a small ftp server on the windows 7 machine with a folder to stored scans on the desktop or something, then put the details of the server in to the printer making it as easy as possible for the customer to scan stuff and just get it from the folder on the desktop, i could also share this folder over the network for anyone to open and get a scan if needs be.

This is the configuration I am running:Internet > Cable Modem > Netgear WNDR3700 Router ~~ DAP-1522 > Wired Windows 7 PC + Linux PC + Printer.The Windows 7 and Linus PC's do communicate well to the internet as do any laptops accessing the router wirelessly and any devices wired to the router. That is the good news.
The bad news is that any devices located after the DAP-1522, including the DAP-1522 do not show up on the network map of either the router or any of the wireless laptops. Neither does the Win 7 PC connected through the DAP-1522 show any networked devices, whether through the DAP-1522 or not, even though network discovery is turned on.
Right now the DAP-1522 is set up to function as a bridge and is in "Static IP" mode. I tried changing it to DHCP, but the DAP-1522 will not allow saving that setting, even though it will allow changing it. It just reverts back to "Static IP". The firmware version is 1.31, and the firmware update went well after a workable logon to the admin page was discovered. Also the one-button (WPS) set-up to the router worked as far as allowing an internet connection.
What needs to change to allow all the devices to show up on the network maps and maintain internet access? Ultimately, I would like to stabilize the IP's of the major components of the network to make troubleshooting easier. But to do that the devices need to show up on the network maps, particularly of the router, so they can be added to the IP reservation table by selection.

I was using my laptop - working in MS Word and hadn't even opend a internet browser and suddently a command prompt appears and all i managed to see before closing it from the task manager (which had it running through internet explorer i think) was that it was copying files.Its a work laptop so i would like to know if it was remote access from IT which seems doubtful on a Sunday or if i need to be concerned about security. Is there a relatively easy (considering i have zero programming experience) way for me to check if anyone logged on with remote access and who and what files were copied?

I have some problem with WS-C4006 Cisco Catalyst that LMS doesn't collect and put into "never collected" area. I also see that those devices doesn't show the classic prompt ">" and "#". Could be the main problem ? If yes how can configure LMS to recognize a different prompt for devices.

I have copied status codes from show ip bg command output and its explanation (from Cisco documentation site)., d and h (suppressed, dampened and history). I read somewhere that these are to control flapping routes. But not able to understand it completly.Raised this question in a couple of forums but didnt get a proper reply.The table entry is suppressed.??The table entry is dampened. ??The table entry history. Looking for a show command to display the actual physical Ram modules inside a 2911 router. I believe they come with 2x ram slots and I need to know if it has 1 ram stick or 2.show version displays the total amount of ram, but not if its 2x128 or 1x256 etc.This is also production gear so I cannot open it up and have a look until the scheduled downtime.

Is there a command that can show EVERYTHING that is configured on a router or switchSeems if you're looking to save enough information to completely swap out a device the run/start config isn't enough.Settings like VTP and MTU settings aren't shown in the config file ... there may be other configuration settings like thisAm I forced to just know to check those settings are is there a command that will show the running-config AND all these other settings that aren't in the config?

I'm trying to troubleshoot one of our site today and can't seem to issue the show dsl interface command on a 1841 router. Does the same command is used for SHDSL or am I running with an IOS bug?

Is there a good reference in how to interpret the "show AP stats" command?

The stat counters look bad [code] But I don't know how to put it all together to say "here are the stats, this is the problem". I am using cisco c3660 to act as Terminal Server for the communication of production machines in my company, recently there is a communication lost issue happen and its due to physical cable unplug from the machine. to troubleshoot for this issues i have to physically go inside my production area to check on it, as i understand from vendor we can check on the physical machine to see whether the LED light on the module is green or not, but in case of need to troubleshoot at night time, its time consuming as i need to travel back to company. is there any command that i can issue in the router c3660 to check on the physical connection between c3660 router and the production machine? the IOS version is IOS (tm) 3600 Software (C3660-I-M), Version 12.1(4)

We have Nexus 7K recently installed few months back with 2 Sup (Slot 5 & Slot 6).Recently recevied mesaanges in monitoring servervia SNMP:Alarm : active unit removal caused an auto SWACT However, when checked there are no recent logs which may be linked to this alarm. The show redundancy command output shows that Sup in slot 5 is active which in slot 6 is Hot Standby.

I enabled the "no service password-recovery" command on my C2960 switch. All seems to work as discribed. Only issue I have is --- which show command is used to reveal if the password-recovery feature is enabled of disabled as the command doesn't show up in the running config after you enable it ?
NOTE: The command does show up in the C2960 switch in config t mode (unlike the IOS router 2800 series), but doesn't show up in the running-config after you enable or disable it.
On the 2800 series routers (latest IOS) in config t mode the command does not show up but if you type "no service passowrd-recovery" the command function correctly and it does list it in the running configuration.
