I'm running Windows XP, SP3. This is a friends computer that I'm trying to fix. It had a virus which I removed, however it left behind a damaged computer. Now there are no network devices that show up in "Network Connections" or in Device Manager. I tried to reinstall the drivers, but I got this error: "The Realtek Ethernet Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug [sic] the Cable".
I have two computers, one vista (Laptop) the other XP (Desktop). Now the problem is that i can't see my vista laptop on my XP, but both are connected to the same router (Netgear DG2200). The router also has a hard drive connected as a network drive WHICH i can see on the XP.
Problem is, nothing comes up on the Vista laptop except for the router and itself. Not even the network hard drive. I can view it on my PS3, though.
I noticed my lan is not enabled on my laptop, so how do i enable it? I tried diagnosing but it said to connect the lan cable.
I am running windows 7 HP. We have about 10 devices in one office and 5 devices connected thru a VPN..... When i hooked everything up 4 weeks ago I could see all the devices in the main office and the remote office connected thru the VPN (In the Network Folder that lists everything connected). Now I only see like 4 device and they are all in the main office.
I did some research a couple weeks ago and found a command prompt that "refreshed" all the devices that were connected, but now They are gone again and I cannot remember the command prompt!
Im working for a client at the moment and I've had to setup a network printer for them, I've got 4 Windows 7 machines easily printing over the network to this printer that is connected wirelessly but they want one of there machines to use the scanning functionality of the printer. The scanner doesn't show up at all in the local network devices like the printer does and to be honest i don't really have any experience with scanning over a network to a windows 7 machine, but this printer does support scan to ftp so my idea is to setup a small ftp server on the windows 7 machine with a folder to stored scans on the desktop or something, then put the details of the server in to the printer making it as easy as possible for the customer to scan stuff and just get it from the folder on the desktop, i could also share this folder over the network for anyone to open and get a scan if needs be.
This is the configuration I am running:Internet > Cable Modem > Netgear WNDR3700 Router ~~ DAP-1522 > Wired Windows 7 PC + Linux PC + Printer. The Windows 7 and Linus PC's do communicate well to the internet as do any laptops accessing the router wirelessly and any devices wired to the router. That is the good news.
The bad news is that any devices located after the DAP-1522, including the DAP-1522 do not show up on the network map of either the router or any of the wireless laptops. Neither does the Win 7 PC connected through the DAP-1522 show any networked devices, whether through the DAP-1522 or not, even though network discovery is turned on.
Right now the DAP-1522 is set up to function as a bridge and is in "Static IP" mode. I tried changing it to DHCP, but the DAP-1522 will not allow saving that setting, even though it will allow changing it. It just reverts back to "Static IP". The firmware version is 1.31, and the firmware update went well after a workable logon to the admin page was discovered. Also the one-button (WPS) set-up to the router worked as far as allowing an internet connection.
What needs to change to allow all the devices to show up on the network maps and maintain internet access? Ultimately, I would like to stabilize the IP's of the major components of the network to make troubleshooting easier. But to do that the devices need to show up on the network maps, particularly of the router, so they can be added to the IP reservation table by selection.
I have a small business network computers w/a linux server. One computer was infected with viruses which I removed via kaspersky/norton/malware anti-bytes. I run windows xp professional on this computer. However I run into the following problem:
1) In my network places the documents on the server do not show as a network place-this is despite me being able to access these documents via a folder shortcut
2) After I open the network files/folders from the comp, I am unable to use the find feature because the folder is not listed under the look in drop box. I tried changing workgroups and ran into the same problem.
I've added several switches and one WLC to my new NCS Prime box. I don't see them in the display. If I try to readd one, it says it already exists. What am I missing?
LMS discoverd all my devices and updated the DCR. This devices are visible in DFM. For some of this devices i would like to change the threshold values. For some reason the devices are not visible in Monitor->Fault Settings->Seup->Threshold Settings (please see screenshot) Is there another approach to change the threshold values?
Is there anyway I can see the power usage on either a 3550 switch and/or 7301 router? I have some far away I wish to see the usage off.
Devices with module power supplies like cat 4500s/6500s/7600 etc all have commands like "show power ...", which will show me input voltage, current and power usage in watts. Is there anything like this for devices without module power supplies?
I'm thinking of upgrading from my Linksys WRT54G router to the E4200 and though I've goggled. Also, are there no LEDs on this unit to tell you the status of what's connected?
I have done any and everything just to even open a specific port on my pc and try PortForward's port checker and web based checkers, and I can't get the port or any port to show as open.I am trying to make an IP webcam on my network viewable from the internet. My setup is like this"gigaset 204a" / DSL modem (Ethernet cable goes into internet port on LINKSYS WRTGS wireless router) [code] Disabled I went to LINKSYS port forwarding, the address I am forwarding to is the ip webcam server. I know if the IP changes it won't work, but before thinking of setting up a static ip for the webcam on my network, I need to get it to actually work.Nothing I do will open any ports on my pc. I've tried enabling DMZ. I've even set rules for windows firewall to allow incoming/outgoing connections on the port I want, i've disabled windows firewall. am running on windows 7 ultimate. The problem for my really is as far as I can tell, I can't even open a port to allow connections to my computer from the outside. Of course all my internet games etc work fine and have never had a problem, but I can't seem to manually open a port I want.
sometimes I let my friends to use my laptop but unfortunately they can see password of my wireless router which my laptop is connected to by going to this wifi network Properties and then to Security and then check in "Show Characters" box..so is there any way to prevent them from seeing my wifi network password in Windows 7?
I've enabled RDP on a laptop, but I can't connect to it. Pinging the laptop works. nmap shows ports open, but not RDP. netstat on the laptop shows nothing listening on 3389. I've also tried rebooting. [code]
I have Compaq 620 laptop...due to some problems I reinstalled my windows ..previously I had windows & ultimate N 32bit, now I installed windows & ultimate 32bitversion.the problem is that after reinstalling windows my laptop does not show WLAN option ..previously i have been using internet through WLAN but now may be driver problem it does not show WLAN option.
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN MiniCard on my Inspiron 1521 with WINDOWS 7 does not show in the device manager. There is a popup window that says Driver blocked due to incompatibility.Ive tried to install new drivers but it doesn't work.
I recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results. Other than a factory reset, get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago?
I have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.
Facing issue with 2960G switch , where its do not display "logging trap informational " in show running and show startup .where its showing all other levels from 0 to 5 and 7 after configuration and save commands. [code] after config getting saved , it do not shows in show runn or in show startup while for all other levels it do show the config lines .I tried the same on 12.55.SE release also but its same results . Is this a limitaion of this platform, is there any doc explaining the same for reference. [code]
All other devices can connect to wifi, but windows xp can'tI have tried resetting the router, as well as the wifi connection on the xp, but nothing works.
I have a HTC wildfire S phone and a Motorola Xoom tablet which connects to my wireless network and both work fine. The only problem is that my Windows 7 p.c. can't "see" them. This means that I have to connect them via a USB lead in order to transfer files. When I try the NETWORKADD WIRELESS DEVICE option the computer does a search but doesn't find anything.
I'm running Windows 7 on my desktop, and I've had problems since yesterday with my pc. My Vista notebook, ipad3, ipod touch, android based phone and blackberry are all able to connect to the wifi, but my desktop is unable to connect to the wifi or ethernet. Things were working fine until yesterday, when I had to power cycle, after which the desktop connection stopped, though other devices are working fine. My ipconfig details are as follows:
Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : DELL-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : reliancebroadband.co.in
I have an HP3505 working fine on my home network, accessible from several machines on Vista and Windows 7. But it won't show up on the network map (on any of the machines), even though my other devices (such as network drives, etc.) do. Maybe it doesn't matter, since it works, but how do I get it to show up?Brad
I have 2 computers One desktop and one Laptop Both are Vista Home Premium I want to set up a network between them to share files-printer etc Done exactly what it says here [URL]Went to the Desktop pc - Chose turn on network discovery, both are in Workgroup name Picked Private Network and turn on Printer Sharing.and no passwords. Then tried to see a folder I shared. But the laptop could not see it Or the PrinterSo thought maybe I needed to set up sharing on the laptop too? Did I? So set the laptop up exactly the same.
My desktop is my main computer and is connected to a wireless router. I have added my laptop which i can see and can get into it's files. On the laptop, I cannot get into the desktop files and I cannot share the printer that is connected to the desktop.
