View 1 Replies View RelatedI have DSL with a Westell 6200 modem configured to a Linksys wtr310N router. I configured "Bridge Mode" on the modem and configured the Linksys with PPPoE. When I try to log in with my laptop running XP I am connected and everything works great. I also can connect wired to my Windows 7 laptop but I can't connect using wireless. Are there any tricks to make this work on Windows 7? Do I have to set up a new Broadband connection? How does my laptop connect to my linksys router?

I have had my DIR 615 router for about 6 months, and have had no problems. I have a notebook (Sony Vaio) and I also have a Blue-Ray Player and my DirecTV DVR connected by ethernet. Starting a few days ago I was having connectivity issues. At first I could see the network on my Vaio, but the Internet kept coming and going.I did some troubleshooting on the adapter and that seemed to work. Now I am having an issue where every 2 hours or so the wireless drops and the network disappears from the list of available connections on my notebook. I have had my netbook on (connected wireless) and the issues are replicated on that system.
Both of my wired devices do not see any interruption in connectivity. Living in an apartment complex I suspected interference and indeed there are a ton of other networks in range (as per inSSIDer 2.0). As there is no channel that is clearly open, I have set my router to auto channel scan. I also have tried some of the steps outlined in other threads. The thing I am noticing is that when the network connection drops my network (which has a unique name) doesn't even show up on inSSIDer, it just disappears. When working, my network is consistantly in the -25 range on inSIDDer.I should point out also that my notebook is a mere 8 feet from the router, and there are no obstructions.
I have window 7 64 bit with amd phenom 840 and msi 880 gm series. I installled d link dwa 525 wireless pci card. Window recognises it but cannot create a network or cannot connect to other network.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe purchased an EA6500 to take the place of the router function of a Verizon Westell 7500. Â We bridged the Westell, installed and set up the EA6500 and everything seems fine.
Â
What is strange is that some devices on the network (our server, user PC, a NAS that isn't part of the domain) while accessible if you navigate to them via \ do not appear in the Network window.
Â
This of course is causing issues for some users who don't or won't map network drives.
Â
At first I thought this may be an issue related to us having some of our network devices with static IP addresses so we switched them over to dynamic - no change in the network window.
Â
we will have to return this router and get a different brand/model if it won't work in this fashion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLinksys WRT54G in reset mode, that is no security, SSID broadcast as linksys as it would be after pressing the reset button. When I go into the network and sharing center on my laptop running Vista and try to connect to the network it doesn't show up in the connect to a network dialog box. Rescanning doesn't work. My friends MAC locates the router with no problem. Disabling and enabling the wireless adapter and rebooting the laptop doesn't work. I'm working right next to the router. If I go to Manage Wireless Networks and add add a new network manually and input the network name (linksys) and Security Type disabled then I can connect to the router and all is well. I've set up a few routers and never seen this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a old Router and a new one(the Lynksys). The old one had problems with the Wifi so we bought this one. So when we connect This Router to the Modem it doesn't show connection to the internet. (The Setup fails because of this). But with the old one it does connect to the internet. So either my modem doesn't detect the new router or vice versa. So I am not sure why its not working since on the old one it works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys E3200. Today I got disconnected and when it reconnected it stated that the network was changed to just network and not my usual network name. I was having connection issues with the network disconnecting me and reconnecting me. I uninstalled the cisco connect software. I contacted support who told me to restart the router and modem, which I did. After reset I tried to reinstall the software. Cisco Connect likes to insist to do the installation wirelessly but my laptop can't find the router during installation to complete it. My router is essentially a glorified wire connecting my computer to my modem now.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm using window 7 64x with Netgear WND R3300 router to connect to internet. I bought 1 PCIe wireless adapter card [URL]and 1 USB wireless adapter ( Mini wireless N speed USB adapter) [URL]
They both said to be compatible with window 7 64x. They do, however, i CAN NOT see any of the N-wireless. The NETGEAR WND R3300 create 2 wireless connection ( one is G and the other is N). My computer is always able to detect the G-wireless but it can never detect the N wireless ( THERE IS NO N-wireless connection in the Available network board). I tried to update driver and everything but it seems hopeless. This is a new built desktop by the way.
I was able to detect the N wireless with my macbookpro; however, when i switched to window 7 on that macbook, i couldnt see the N wireless as well. So, i thought it has something to do with window 7 since all drivers are up to date. My G-wireless is really really slow ( about 2 mbps) while the N is around 16 mbps. My work requires high speed internet.
I am connected but always have the red cross up in the connection tray

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried to connect the usb adapter with an Acer Aspire 7736ZG, installed with Windows 7 64bit edition. Well, I *can't*.
Â
- I started the CD installation and when prompted, I've connected the USB stick. Well, the stick couldn't be detected, and the installation couldn't continue.
- Then, I used the Windows7 drivers and managed to install the device (device manager, sees the device normally). But, the CD still couldn't continue the installation of extra software.
- Ok, no linksys software - no big deal. I would use the Windosw wireless management program. NO! The card seems not be present, and the only wireless connections I get, is by the onboard 802.11n card of the laptop (don't ask why I bought an extra 802.11n card).Â
- Nothing happens by disabling the onboard 802.11n card and trying all over again.
- If I go to the connection and sharing center and select "change setting of adapter", well, my expensive and cisco-super-duper card, isn't there, and I can only find the Atheros ARB93 Wireless card and the local (wired) adapter.
Â
So, to sum up, 64bit driver seems to be installed correctly on the device manager (as proposed on other threads) but the adapter is not present on the system. How cool is that?
I am using cisco c3660 to act as Terminal Server for the communication of production machines in my company, recently there is a communication lost issue happen and its due to physical cable unplug from the machine. to troubleshoot for this issues i have to physically go inside my production area to check on it, as i understand from vendor we can check on the physical machine to see whether the LED light on the module is green or not, but in case of need to troubleshoot at night time, its time consuming as i need to travel back to company. is there any command that i can issue in the router c3660 to check on the physical connection between c3660 router and the production machine? the IOS version is IOS (tm) 3600 Software (C3660-I-M), Version 12.1(4)
