I have Compaq 620 laptop...due to some problems I reinstalled my windows ..previously I had windows & ultimate N 32bit, now I installed windows & ultimate 32bitversion.the problem is that after reinstalling windows my laptop does not show WLAN option ..previously i have been using internet through WLAN but now may be driver problem it does not show WLAN option.

It wiped all my settings...no big deal...I've entered them all back in again. But now I am no longer able to establish a connection to my laptops... The Wireless WPS light will not come back on the router no matter how many times I turn it off/on or reset it... When I go into the page to establish properties etc for the modem...the WLAN option doesn't even appear anymore. but they were at a complete loss also as to why the option wasn't there..

However, now I can't get on the internet on that computer to update the drivers, and I can't find anything that'll let me do it without internet.I don't have an independent network card, just what's built into my motherboard. Haven't been able to find the driver for it, only programs that will find it for me, using said internet.

Before I did, I had internet connection, now I don't.
It says it finds no device. All i did was install windows. What else do I need to do for it to recognise the devices are on the system?
After I wake my Windows 7 based computer from sleep or from hibernation, the network icon in the notification area do not show the "not connected" status. The Dell 1390 WLAN does not show in the device manager.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Compaq nc6220 that I just got up and running after an extended stint as a paperweight.It had previously worked great in terms of connecting to the internet via wireless.Now nothing.It let's me go into Wireless Network Setup Wizard and offers to let me set up new networks, etc...But as far as I can tell, it isn't detecting any networks (though they are all around me and detected on other computers) and giving me the option to log in.There is no "Device Manager" option that I can find on this computer, which some forum posts have suggested to other people with similar problems.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have a BRAND NEW Netgear CG3000D-RG wireless router (modem). We have had this modem for just about two months, and have 3 laptops in the house and a XBox 360. We have screaming signal @ 50 megs. However my wifes Compaq Laptop keeps kicking her off the internet. The homepage will load, and sometimes MAYBE one more screen. But then nothing else will load, and the signal bars at the bottom right of the screen get an exclamation point. No other computers have ANY problems, nor does the XBox (which is the only thing that is actually hardwired).

She couldn't register Microsoft Office, use Avast, use Firefox, use Chrome, install updates, and access the iTunes store to name a few examples.
She was able to run MalwareBytes, but no infections were found.
I don't think it's the router, because my sister is also my roommate and I can access the internet just fine, as well as gaming consoles and iPods. But I don't know, maybe it is the router and I'm just not realizing it.
I'm trying to figure out the problem, but it's just not coming to me. I guess she's had this problem since October 2010. I thought it might be an IP address issue, so I reserved an IP address to her, but it appears that nothing changed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq CQ60. It formerly belonged to a friend (who had no problems with it) and I restored factory settings. However it isn't connecting to my router! Well, it does connect - but it calls it "unidentified" and despite my many attempts it just won't allow me access to the internet. The two other laptops in the house are connected to it fine though. I tried connecting to my neighbour's wireless router, and it worked no problem, including the internet! I bought an ethernet cable earlier, which successfully connected my laptop to the internet. (Although it said I was connected to a homenetwork as well as my Talk Talk router, which it proceeds to call "unidentified" and is restricted to local access). However, I really need it to work wirelessly. I have not been able to use the laptop yet as the ethernet cable does not allow me to leave the router!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a Compaq laptop, and i have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter attached to it.I used to be able to connect to a Printer Brother MFC-J430W via wireless and print from it.But recently, when I try to print from it, it says that the printer is offline. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.

I tried replacing the keyboard but it did not work. Anyways, For some strange reason my wireless capability was turned off and now I have no way of turning it back on. I have searched many forums but have not found an answer.
Q: Is there any way to turn on the wireless capability i.e. using the function keys to turn on the wireless radio, WITHOUT actually using the function keys? i.e. using a command or something within the computer?
I have an ancient Compaq V2410 notebook which has started to drop my home Wifi connection recently (started about a week ago). At first, I thought it was the install of Firefox 8 as it froze and crashed but it happens with Chrome, IE and even when not running a browser.
My ISP is O2 in the UK and I have a DSL2+ service with the O2 Wireless Box II. I have gone through a power down cycle on the router and it continues to work with my ethernet-connected desktop PC. I have changed the Wireless Card in the notebook but fault is still intermittent. The notebook was also set to OpenDNS servers but that has been set back to Automatic DNS servers.
The notebook has the latest free versions of Avast Anti-virus & Comodo Firewall and the main issue is that the notebook has 640Mb system RAM which means that various Windows services have been Disabled or set to Manual.
I can sometimes recover the Wifi signal by switching the wireless on/off but it is sporadic. I have attached the Xirrus WiFi screenshots at startup, at fault state and at recovery state together with the ipconfig.txt output.
