Sep 28, 2011Wireless suddenly stopped working on my laptop.I have a Compaq 6715B, and yesterday while I was browsing the web, my wireless stopped working, it gave me a notification in the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing near the clock, "The blah blah blah Network adapter can now be safely removed".The wireless hasn't been working ever since.It's not showing up in the device manager or anything.I've swapped the card itself, swapped the whole LED board (the board with the power button, wireless button, etc.

Nov 7, 2012I have an HP Compaq nc6220 that I just got up and running after an extended stint as a paperweight.It had previously worked great in terms of connecting to the internet via wireless.Now nothing.It let's me go into Wireless Network Setup Wizard and offers to let me set up new networks, etc...But as far as I can tell, it isn't detecting any networks (though they are all around me and detected on other computers) and giving me the option to log in.There is no "Device Manager" option that I can find on this computer, which some forum posts have suggested to other people with similar problems.

Mar 5, 2011We have a BRAND NEW Netgear CG3000D-RG wireless router (modem). We have had this modem for just about two months, and have 3 laptops in the house and a XBox 360. We have screaming signal @ 50 megs. However my wifes Compaq Laptop keeps kicking her off the internet. The homepage will load, and sometimes MAYBE one more screen. But then nothing else will load, and the signal bars at the bottom right of the screen get an exclamation point. No other computers have ANY problems, nor does the XBox (which is the only thing that is actually hardwired).

Aug 15, 2012I am using a Compaq laptop, and i have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter attached to it.I used to be able to connect to a Printer Brother MFC-J430W via wireless and print from it.But recently, when I try to print from it, it says that the printer is offline. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.

Jul 11, 2012I have a Compaq presario CQ61 laptop running windows 7 and since my boyfriend installed a new netgear wireless router I haven't been able connect to the home wireless network. I have no problem connecting to public or private wireless networks at my house or elsewhere. Also, my boyfriend and his roommate have no problem connecting to the network on their laptops. It is a WPA encrypted network. I have also tried shutting off the firewall on my computer without any change. My laptop doesn't even recognize the network - i tried to manually add the network to my computer but it still won't come up on my list of active networks.

Aug 11, 2012I have a Compaq presario CQ62 Laptop. The other day, my friend accidentally spilled water on my laptop keys. The computer works perfectly fine except for the keyboard. I tried replacing the keyboard but it did not work. Anyways, For some strange reason my wireless capability was turned off and now I have no way of turning it back on. Apr 26, 2011My sister's Compaq Presario CQ62 Laptop, and from what she told me, she can't access the internet. When she can access, it's only with Internet Explorer.
She couldn't register Microsoft Office, use Avast, use Firefox, use Chrome, install updates, and access the iTunes store to name a few examples.
She was able to run MalwareBytes, but no infections were found.
I don't think it's the router, because my sister is also my roommate and I can access the internet just fine, as well as gaming consoles and iPods. But I don't know, maybe it is the router and I'm just not realizing it.
I'm trying to figure out the problem, but it's just not coming to me. I guess she's had this problem since October 2010. I thought it might be an IP address issue, so I reserved an IP address to her, but it appears that nothing changed.

Dec 28, 2012I have a Compaq CQ60. It formerly belonged to a friend (who had no problems with it) and I restored factory settings. However it isn't connecting to my router! Well, it does connect - but it calls it "unidentified" and despite my many attempts it just won't allow me access to the internet. The two other laptops in the house are connected to it fine though. I tried connecting to my neighbour's wireless router, and it worked no problem, including the internet! I bought an ethernet cable earlier, which successfully connected my laptop to the internet. (Although it said I was connected to a homenetwork as well as my Talk Talk router, which it proceeds to call "unidentified" and is restricted to local access). However, I really need it to work wirelessly. I have not been able to use the laptop yet as the ethernet cable does not allow me to leave the router!
