After I wake my Windows 7 based computer from sleep or from hibernation, the network icon in the notification area do not show the "not connected" status. The Dell 1390 WLAN does not show in the device manager.

Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN MiniCard on my Inspiron 1521 with WINDOWS 7 does not show in the device manager. There is a popup window that says Driver blocked due to incompatibility.Ive tried to install new drivers but it doesn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently re-installed the driver for the 1390 WLAN Mini Card after not having wireless for a few years, and have a few problems. In the Windows XP Home Network Connections folder, the Wireless Network Connection Icon shows, "Acquiring Network Address", but never gets past that. I ran a diagnostic in the "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility" and the card passed all the tests, even though with the card switch in the on position the LED doesn't light (??)
When I right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon and choose, "Status", in the "General" tab I can see that the card is sending out packets, but none are being received. In the "Support" tab under "connection status" the following appears: "Address Type": Invalid IP Address, "IP Address": 0.0.0.0, "Subnet Mask": 0.0.0.0, "Default Gateway": (nothing listed).
Background: I have a Desktop (no brand) and the Dell D820 connected with a Westell Modem and a D-Link WBR-1310 Router. Both computers work great connected to the Router with a cable. Both computers are running Windows XP Home.
The only thing I can think of (and I'm remembering this from 2007 when I purchased the Laptop and had a wireless set up for a short while), is that the Modem and Router were bridged, which is not the case now. Do they need to be bridged for the wireless connection to work? Is it not necessary anymore and something called "Double Netting" or something like that is used...
I can't connect to the internet using wireless. Can access the internet just fine with my cable. All I see is the red x and its not able to detect any networks. I reinstalled drivers, it works fine for a second, and then dies out again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop running and with a Dell 1390 WLAN mini-card installed and a Broadcom 44/10x100 integrated controller.
Unfortunately I've never been able to get this laptop to function with my wireless Internet.
Everything's working out nicely, and the computer connects to the network smoothly. After 5-10 minutes of full and unproblematic Internet connection the computer crashes the wireless network i.e. the Inspiron and all other computeres connected to the network is disconnected and my wireless network no longer shows up on the list of available networks.
The network works perfectly with every other computer I've used with it.
I've installed the newest drivers for both the 1390 and the integrated controller from this site. And my Vista is of course also fully up to date.
I've also tried turning the antennae settings to "aux" - Alas, to no avail.
In my laptop WLAN is showing disabled from Device Manager & no Wireless is showing in the Network Adaptar under Device manager.

I know I have to disable the onboard nic but the installed card is not comming up either in Device manager or network connections. What gives? In the bios under integrated peripherals i did enable PnP OS.

I just got an Inspiron 1520 for Christmas. So I have only been using it a few days. The first day I set up the internet connection I had no problem but now when my computer goes into sleep mode or hibernate mode I lose internet connection and it won't reconnect. It will seach for a network, then say that I have limited access or the network is unidentified. I have to either disconnect from the network and reconnect and sometimes I even have to restart the laptop to get the connection back. I have the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini card.

I don't really know where to start or what direction to take so I'll list my major problem, then all the facts/info/and actions I've taken to attempt to fix the problem.Problem - I can not connect to the internet and no network adapter shows up under device manager I have an Asus 5671 running windows 7. I purchased the unit about a year ago.It's outside of the manufacturers warranty. Power went out about a week and a half ago and I believe this has something to do with the cause of the problem. I have repeatedly spoken to ASUS about this downloaded the network drivers from their site. When I install them I receive no error message saying they were installed incorrectly or failed to install, but my network adapter still does not show up. I have recovered my computer to factory settings and the problem has not gone away.
While attempting to recover my computer to factory settings, I found out it didn't already come with a recovery disk set up, so I followed the prompts to make a recovery disk (after all this trouble was already happening), so I wonder if creating a recovery disk was pointless since the network issue was already present. I have my router hard lined to my computer, and it's wireless on. The wireless works with my PS3. My computer itself is not wireless. Asus first said the problem was 100% digital, now say it's a hardware problem. I was told I will have to buy a new motherboard to fix the issue.
The first is I have a laptop running XP with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card built in to it. But for some reason when I'm using that wireless connector my computer won't connect to my router and give me a 192.168.0.x address, it gives me a regular IP address. I can surf the net and everything but I can't access files on other computers. But from it it'll allow me to connect to the router admin fine.Whenever I put the mac address in to my DHCP setting on my router it comes up * RESERVED INACTIVE * and never gives my laptop a local ip address.The other problem is on my 192.168.0.2 computer I've tried to set up port forwarding but it won't open the ports. My router is a Motorola SBG6580 provided by my cable company. This particular computer is connected by Ethernet and not Wifi if that makes a difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wlan card has been dodgy recently disconnecting and reconnecing but now does not work at all. It is no longer shown in device manager I installed the drivers for it from the disc that came with it and ones from the internet but no luck from what I've read online it says my laptop (advent 9617 - ancient i know) came with the Ralink RT73 USB Wireless.
It also keeps popping up "this device can perform faster is you connect to a high speed port" I took off the casing to have a look at it and I can't see any dodgy wires or connections unless its somewhere I can't see or get to. I just took it out and put it back in but no luck.
I can still get on through wired LAN but live in shared accomodation and it's a bit inconvenient when I'm trying to work. Oh and there's no router problems as my phone and housemates laptops connect fine.
I have new Inspiron 1720 running Vista with the Dell wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card. I will be connected to the wireless network just fine, but it will then disconnect. My problem is I cannot re-connect to it without having to do a total restart. I go to the place to refresh the list, and it finds nothing. I ask it to repair the network, and it can't becasue it cannot find a network. I have at least 4 other networks in the area that I can normally see, and none appear when I hit the refresh button. But I totally restart the system, and everything works fine again (until it drops again).

"Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed.a problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available."
Then I get this following message:"Solution Found: Address a problem with your WLAN card.Your WLAN card has stopped working properly. This is a network adapter that allows your computer to connect to a wireless network. To find out if an updated version of your WLAN card is available, contact your device or computer manufacturer."The strange thing is even though I get this message I am still able to connect to the internet via a wireless network. So there is no problem as such it is just annoying to keep getting this message when Windows starts up.I have checked on the DELL Support website and I do have the most up-to-date driver already (Or I think I do).

Fer last few days my wired connection was not working and i got all cable checked and replaced, but could not solve the problem. Then i found that in device manager, network adapters, its not showing and wired adapter. Only wi-fi and blue tooth adapters are there. I can still connect to internet at office via wi fi but its not working at home now with wired connection.I am not able to understand how it stops working and why its not showing in device manage (Network adapters).Yes one more thing i want to disclose is that earlier i have only one drive i.e. c drive wich few days back i compressed and created another drive.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use a hardwired Ethernet adapter to connect to the internet from home. I cannot connect to the internet on the N5110 but can connect on my desktop PC. I look at the hardware device manager and cannot find an Ethernet adapter. This leads me to believe something happened to the card. It should show up in the hardware profile. I don't want to use a wireless connection. I want to use my hardwired Ethernet adapter.
How can get the system to recognize the device? I don't need to send it in for repair. There is some work I do that can only be done on this computer.

My wireless connection usually works fine but I noticed that I was having trouble getting a wireless connection working at my parents' and in-laws' houses. I just ignored the problem for a while but I recently decided to figure out what was causing it. Long story short, any time a router uses WPA-PSK (I think this is also called WPA-TPIK) encryption then my wireless is very, very slow -- unusably slow. If there is no encryption or any other encryption (WPA2, WPA-EAS, WEP, any enterprise variation) then it works fine -- I tested all these with my own router (which normally is on WPA2). Also, many other laptops were able to get connected to both my parents and in-laws routers so the problem clearly lies with my laptop.
My computer is out of warranty so without paying $50 I can't get Dell customer service to: 1) confirm if this a known problem 2) let me know if there is an easy fix or 3) that myadapter is bad in a specific way. I've tried searching these forums but I haven't had much luck turning up an exact duplicate of my problem. I've updated to the latest drivers for my adapter.

For the past few weeks, I have been having trouble maintaining a steady wireless internet connection. I intermittently lose the connection or the strength of the connection fluctuates. I have an Inspiron 1521, with a Dell Wireless 1390 Wlan Mini-Card. Also, I am running Windows 7.
A couple of hours ago, I suddenly lost my wireless connection and could not reestablish it. I ran the diagnostic tool, which reported that there was a hardware or driver-related problem with my 1390 mini-card. Now, when I go into Device Manager, it has an exclamation point next to it and it says "This device cannot start (Code 10)".
I have restarted my system and downloaded and installed this driver URL . Device Manager now says, "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date," but there is still a Code 10 error.
Does this just mean that the card needs to be replaced? I am not sure what to do now -
