I have a HTC wildfire S phone and a Motorola Xoom tablet which connects to my wireless network and both work fine. The only problem is that my Windows 7 p.c. can't "see" them. This means that I have to connect them via a USB lead in order to transfer files. When I try the NETWORKADD WIRELESS DEVICE option the computer does a search but doesn't find anything.

Cisco's interface looks poor; there is no way to see the connected devices.Many of the devices I have have a 5 Ghz radio and some don't so i need to see at what speeds they are connecting at.Or does Cisco not provide this utility? I am surprised that a high-end product from Cisco does not have this function.

They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a big house so I have a e4200 on one end of the house upstairs and the WAP610n on the other end downstairs linked via CA6. I am having no issues with Laptops etc..just with Apple devices. I spent a lot of time with chat support (waste of time). WAP was flashed with latest firmware via hard wire no devices connected to wireless, has same ssid and security settings as router running on 2.4 ghz wpa2 personal AES. I am using 2.4 due to iphone4 does not support 5ghz and wap does not support dual band (another bummer). I am using AES instead of TKIP/AES mixed mode due to apple devices will not acquire dhcp with this setting and if they do they lose it right away. I have tried everything imaginable with the settings even changed beacon to 75, 50 RTS to 2304 etc...the current setting are the only ones that seem to work the best however when i run speedtest.net LA server or SD server the performance is horrible. On windows laptop i can achieve 27mbps down 2.5mbpsup, my apple devices use to achieve very close numbers to that on a simple configuration with two Dlink DGL-4300's one as router one as AP (G mode). So two major issues i have noticed is WAP610N has issues passing DHCP to apple devices and has extremely poor performance. So my question is will there be a firmware to correct this issue or a new hardware version that i can exchange this for if I RMA it or would it be best to call it a day and just get a E3200 and use it as a real simultaneous dual band AP???

The laptop finds the router and gets "connected" but when I try to open a web page, it says there's an issue with my internet connection, and also something about not finding the DNS...whatever that means...as you can see..

It also seems to randomly shuffle which devices to show as connected, even though several more than nine are connected and online. Does anyone else's device list limit itself to displaying only nine devices? The Linksys phone apps also display a maximum of nine devices. I like the routers new user interface and understand that it has received a lot of praise, however this is the second bug I've experienced in as many months (the first being a failure of the device list to update once devices are upgraded to Windows 8, requiring a reset to default settings in order to fix).

Had a look my E3000 router IP is 192.168.0.1 but those problematic devices has IP 192.168.1.XXX allocated by DHCP not sure why. Currently I manually set up static IP 192.168.0.XXX for those devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, my wireless network at home has been very unreliable. I posted on these forums before, asking for assistance to fix crashes that seemed to be random. I was largely unsuccessful, and the problem continued. However, as I continued to experiment with different methods to keep my network up and running, I noticed that as long as I had at least one device connected to the network around-the-clock it never crashed. This was easy enough, as I own an iPod touch and a dock (I would leave it sitting it the dock unlocked all the time). But it's annoying to never be able to leave the house with it, and I'm ready to finally get a solution to the problem once and for all. I would prefer not getting a new router, but if worse comes to worse I will.
To sum it up:
-Works perfectly (when up) at full speed, never crashes unless there are no devices connected to it.
-When it does crash, it is very difficult to 'coax' it back into working again; it's been down for weeks at a time before.
-For some strange reason (and maybe this is a clue), newer game systems such as a Nintendo DSi or PS3 can make it start working again. I, of course, own neither of these.
-I'm using a WRT160N V3, latest firmware as far as i know.
I cant see in my network the devices connected to SE2500 just the SE2500 itself. The internet access of the devices connected to SE2500 is working correctly. Is this a problem?

I have a linksys 1500, connected to a cablemodem. It has firmware 1.0.04 (but this problem happened with earlier firmware that it shipped with).I have a problem with the DHCP server on the E1500 - or maybe its a bad client - one of my clients, happens to be an iPad-2 doesn't seem to get properly connected. all of my other wireless DHCP clients - windows vista, windows 7, linux, android, mac and an old iPad1 all connect without problems. I also have wired devices that get their IP via DHCP for my TV, blu-ray, slingbox, DVR, without problems, its just this iPad2 that tries to connect, seems that it does, but can't access anything on the internet.I see this on the DCHP Client list (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table from the web interface) and I'm quite sure this is the cause of the problem with the iPad2. that MAC address is the address of my iPad2, and that IP# is the one I reserved for it.
I've set up that MAC address to have a reserved IP#, and forced the client name to Rays-IPad2 (as its named on the device) but it has the same behaviour as letting the DCHP server give it an IP# from its address pool. And if I reboot the E1500 and reboot the iPad2, it does actually connect for a few seconds, I can bring up a page in safari, etc, but soon within a few seconds, it switches the client name to this display of question-marks (non printable characters presumably) and it can no longer get to the internet.Is there anything I can do or try? There isn't another DCHP server running on the network, I don't know if something with the cable modem is causing a conflict, and if it were I'm not sure what I could do about that.
I have a E3000 with a USB hard drive plugged into it. It works perfectly as a shared storage drive from all my computers. But as a Media Server it is not working. I purchased a Sony SMP-N200 Steaming Media Server that found all the PCs in the house and can stream music and photos fine. It does not see the shared USB drive connected to the E3000. Sony's web site says it uses DLNA to find and stream music and photos. It says Windows 7 is one example of DLNA When I go to DLNA.org and check to see what routers are DLNA compliant, it says the Cisco E4200 and E4200v2 is. Is Cisco going to make a firmeware upgrade to include DLNA for the E3000?

I recently broke my broadband data cap which surprised me as I had not been using the internet much.
I only have tablet which I switched off having first checked the router to make sure there were no other wireless connections and adding MAC address filtering to be sure no one else was stealing my bandwidth. With just my router connected to the ISP, my ISP has recorded 170MB of downloaded data in 3.5 hours. Switching off the router stops the traffic being recorded (as you would expect), but when switched back on the large data transfers start up again.
I have plugged in an older router (not wireless) and no traffic is generated, so it seems to be the TP-Link router rather than my ISP or ADSL circuit that is at fault.
I recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results. Other than a factory reset, get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm working for a client at the moment and I've had to setup a network printer for them, I've got 4 Windows 7 machines easily printing over the network to this printer that is connected wirelessly but they want one of there machines to use the scanning functionality of the printer.The scanner doesn't show up at all in the local network devices like the printer does and to be honest i don't really have any experience with scanning over a network to a windows 7 machine, but this printer does support scan to ftp so my idea is to setup a small ftp server on the windows 7 machine with a folder to stored scans on the desktop or something, then put the details of the server in to the printer making it as easy as possible for the customer to scan stuff and just get it from the folder on the desktop, i could also share this folder over the network for anyone to open and get a scan if needs be.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the firmware 2.10NA. In my home we have about 4 laptops and 4 smartphones connecting to this router wirelessly and 3 of the laptops often lose connection for hours. We have tried unplugging the router and plugging it in again and factory reset and also resetting it through the IP address but the connection doesnt come back. Recently it has gone out for about 3 hours now. Also the wireless LED icon on the router constantly blinks is this normal? On the laptops where theres no connection it says limited connectivity. Is it possible that there is too many devices connected to the router or something. or could this be a problem with the laptops and not the router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wireless router [Linksys WRT54G] has recently been dropping the connection simultaneously between two desktops. I have one desktop plugged into the router with an enthernet cord, but the other is running a wireless card. I recently got a Windows notice stating that there is an IP address conflict between my two computers. I check my IP addresses using my ipaddress.com and both computers are sharing the same IP address. I also checked the connection with my smartphone and when I am connected to the internet through my wireless; it gives me the same IP address as well. So, every device I'm using through my router is giving the same IP address at my ip address.com. I'm assuming this may be what is occasionally knocking my router offline, causing me to have to reset, but it will knock both computers offline within a few minutes of resetting.
I believe that all 3 devices should have different IP addresses when connecting to the internet, so is this a setting I need to adjust in the router, and if so where do I go, or can I try to assign one of my desktop computers a new IP address? I have no idea why my smartphone would be using the same IP address when connected through the router either. I'm going to guess that the problem is with a setting within my router.
What's happened is that after transferring my old PC's data onto my new one, and putting that one in place of my old one, therefore hooking up my modem to it, my wireless devices have been having trouble connecting to the router. Everything's hooked up fine, and it was working perfectly before, but now my devices such as my laptop and Droid Pro can SEE the router (As in connect to it and say that they are getting excellent signal strength), but when I try to open my browser, it asks as if I'm not connected to anything at all. The PC that's wired to the modem through the router works fine, however.

Wireless Connections doesn't exist in my network connections tab, and in Services under Admin Tool - in the 'Wireless Zero Configuration Properties' is set to Automatic startup type and it is 'started'.
My computer doesn't want to connect to the internet via ethernet, however it will connect via wireless to the same network. Other computers on this network connect to the internet just fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt started happening back in around November, my sister and my computer would start freezing occasionally, slurring the audio into a robotic sound, eventually to come to.It gradually got worse, and I assumed it was a graphics card problem since it would freeze ONLY SOMETIMES and say that the graphics driver stopped working and has recovered. It usually didn't say that, though.Lately though, I noticed that when it would freeze sometimes the internet would go out for some connected devices, such as the Xbox 360. The only computer that was NEVER affected by this is the one connected directly by Ethernet to the Netgear router, (every other device is WiFi.)
Sometimes even, my sister and mine would freeze simultaneously. It was a sort of rare occurrence, though.I very lately started to notice that it would freeze when trying to load internet components with larger amounts of data, such as server console logs, Flash videos, and Soundcloud players. What threw me off is that it would sometimes freeze in programs like FL Studio or Windows Media Player... It's possible I guess that the programs were unrelated and what caused the freeze is SOMETHING sending/receiving corrupt packets.
