my belkin 5909 router does not see wireless devices. It worked fine until about a week ago. Now, using the correct password - device sees router, but can't log on. I get an "incorrect password" message. I can access my router to make changes with wired connection. Wireless does not work.

I have the video mover box checked and when it is, I can see the LaCie hard drive under network locations drive z in My Computer (Windows 7). I can open it and explore it, and see the media on the drive. But when I use one of the DLNA devices in my house (Vizio smart tv, Roku, and PS3) the only drive that shows up is the router's root file "Play N600 HD Dual video oot" not the LaCie drive or any of the contents. Is there any way to share the contents of the USB drive with these devices?

It is great with our ten different devices (possibly even a dozen?), but it continues to disconnect a Kindle Fire - that used to connect with no problem - evidently upon acquisition of a newer Kindle Fire. As long as MAC Filtering is not enabled, then there shouldn't be an issue of a "white list" - which the Kindle manual suggests as a solution ("If ... filtering is enabled, ensure your Kindle's MAC address is added to your router's white list in your network settings"). (I did figure out how to go to the network address, but was mostly flumoxed from there)

The problem is, I have to reboot the thing numerous times throughout the day to allow a client to connect to it via wireless. One client will be connected and then drop, or a client will be connected, and I cannot connect another device. I also had an issue with streaming over wireless for netflix on my devices and the only way I could get it to work was to turn off the firewall, what the hek.... This is crap. I knew I should not have bought a belkin router again. Had one years ago and it constantly gave me issues. Had my Linksys Wrt54G for years with no problems until it finally crapped out. Anyways, my firmware version is the latest version according o the website.

The modem is a Siemens Speed stream 4100. I have a cable going from the ethernet port of the modem to the modem port on the router. The pc is connected to one of the other four ports in the router. The wireless works fine, but I can't get the wired connection on the desktop working. The Internet light on the modem is not on, but the modem works fine when connected directly to the pc. I have a CPU that can only connect to my network via hard wire in another room. Running a hard wire from my Belkin router to the CPU is NOT an option. Therefore, I would like to use my TP-Link router (which has built in WDS wireless bridge capability) as a wireless bridge and have it connect to my Belkin router and thereby the network and the internet via wifi. I will then connect my CPU to the TP-Link router via hard wire.
I've tested both routers directly and independently connected to the modem and they both work fine. The issue I have is only in trying to get the bridge between them to work. I've followed various tutorials (TP-Link website, YouTube videos, site like this one, etc.) to no avail.I know that my Belkin router does not specifically have wireless bridge capabilities, but I'm not sure if BOTH routers having this capability is necessary for a wireless bridge to work or not.I also have multiple screen shots of the router configuration settings for both routers which can be provided if need be.
If your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem.However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results. Other than a factory reset, get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm working for a client at the moment and I've had to setup a network printer for them, I've got 4 Windows 7 machines easily printing over the network to this printer that is connected wirelessly but they want one of there machines to use the scanning functionality of the printer.The scanner doesn't show up at all in the local network devices like the printer does and to be honest i don't really have any experience with scanning over a network to a windows 7 machine, but this printer does support scan to ftp so my idea is to setup a small ftp server on the windows 7 machine with a folder to stored scans on the desktop or something, then put the details of the server in to the printer making it as easy as possible for the customer to scan stuff and just get it from the folder on the desktop, i could also share this folder over the network for anyone to open and get a scan if needs be.

We have tried unplugging the router and plugging it in again and factory reset and also resetting it through the IP address but the connection doesnt come back. Recently it has gone out for about 3 hours now. Also the wireless LED icon on the router constantly blinks is this normal? On the laptops where theres no connection it says limited connectivity. Is it possible that there is too many devices connected to the router or something. or could this be a problem with the laptops and not the router?

After reading other posts, I reset the router with no results, used a new cable from the Belkin to the computer, changed ports, checked connections, restarted; nothing. When I do an ipconfig, a small window pops open and goes off before I can make anything out. I undestand Belkin's IP address is 192.168.2.1 and I'm showing that my IPv4DHCP Server is that, as is my DNS server. The IPv4WINS server shows nothing.
