My Belkin N450 assigns a 192.168.169.2 for an IP address. This does not allow me to add to the DMZ to bypass firewall and open my NAT. It wants a 192.168.2.__. What do I need to do to make this happen?

I have gone into the web based set up page and under access controls have enabled and added this computer to the list. I have blocked http, https, ftp and nntp. I don't know if this is enough. The reason I am asking is that I am in Iraq right now and I want to allow my fellow team members access to the wireless for using viber on their iphones but one cat even though he has hardwired internet wants to continuously suck off my wireless for his computer to download stuff since I paid for faster internet. I am trying to do this quietly and still allow him access to the shared drives on the LAN. Sooooo If I block him just outright will he still have access to the drives or do I need to pick and choose like I did above and if I need to pick and choose did I miss anything other then pop3 email and imap?

It is great with our ten different devices (possibly even a dozen?), but it continues to disconnect a Kindle Fire - that used to connect with no problem - evidently upon acquisition of a newer Kindle Fire. As long as MAC Filtering is not enabled, then there shouldn't be an issue of a "white list" - which the Kindle manual suggests as a solution ("If ... filtering is enabled, ensure your Kindle's MAC address is added to your router's white list in your network settings"). (I did figure out how to go to the network address, but was mostly flumoxed from there)

View 1 Replies View Relatedhave purchased Belkin wifi usb adapter dualband N450 and downloaded the driver from included CD, my OS is windows7 starterfter I plug in the adapter, the power ON is litting and wait for a while if will flashing but not. I opened the "NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER" and click the "CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS", the Belkin wireless adapter is disabled and had tried enabling it but still it is disable. I uninstalled the driver and the program, I checked in the internet and downloaded the file F9L1101v1_N600.exe and installed. Checked again but still the same problem before, Disabled and tried enabling but to no success.

The problem is, I have to reboot the thing numerous times throughout the day to allow a client to connect to it via wireless. One client will be connected and then drop, or a client will be connected, and I cannot connect another device. I also had an issue with streaming over wireless for netflix on my devices and the only way I could get it to work was to turn off the firewall, what the hek.... This is crap. I knew I should not have bought a belkin router again. Had one years ago and it constantly gave me issues. Had my Linksys Wrt54G for years with no problems until it finally crapped out. Anyways, my firmware version is the latest version according o the website.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been asked by a client to restrict access to a number of non work related sites. Easy, blocked them using Firewall> Content Filter. Then I was asked to disable this filter for one user (the Managing Director) so he can access eBay.
I am familiar with doing this on a Netgear device, but so far my efforts with the RV082 have failed.
First I have tried using DHCP to reserve an IP address for this user, then setting 'Access Rules' so that this IP has all access all the time, but this does not appear to work.
I assume setting this IP as the DMZ would achieve what I want but it seems like overkill and not very security wise.
in Cisco ASA 5540 Adaptive Security Appliance Platform Capabilities and Capacities, I see Concurrent Sessions: 400,000. Which mean what device can handle 400,000 session and no more. But if I'm using TCP State Bypass Feature (Inbound traffic pass via ASA but Outbound goes via different device). I can see such connections via show conn command with b flag.
My questions: 1. Will this limit (Concurrent Session) affect in this case? Or ASA can handle more such connections (for example 800,000 ...) in bypass state? 2. This is working internally on our network, between services servers (i.e AV server), and desktop clients. However i am having a problem when the clients are remotly accessing the domain via the VPN client.I have open traffic ports (IKE-UDP500, ESP - IP Prot 50, AH - IP Prot 51) bidirectionally between the remote vpn clients subnet and the services servers, however when the endpoints initiate traffic to the services server, the IKE traffic is unencrypted?
when opening SSH service to a Database Administrator within my LAN, that has a RV016 as the default gateway. So confidence, I just set up a port forwarding in Setup > Forwarding and everything works fine, cool.
However, I do not want this to be a public access, I need a specific firewall rule for a specific external IP address (only the DBA fixed IP Internet might connect to my database server through SSH).
O noticed that when a port forwarding is created within RV016, it bypass the firewall default rules and wide-opens the service (port) to the web. Conceptually, this is correct, as port forwarding is a network translation, but I expected that my firewall had work over this.
My current solution was to create a "Deny from all" rule at port 22 and then create one additional rule that allows traffic from an specific IP at port 22.

After reading other posts, I reset the router with no results, used a new cable from the Belkin to the computer, changed ports, checked connections, restarted; nothing. When I do an ipconfig, a small window pops open and goes off before I can make anything out. I undestand Belkin's IP address is 192.168.2.1 and I'm showing that my IPv4DHCP Server is that, as is my DNS server. The IPv4WINS server shows nothing.

The modem is a Siemens Speed stream 4100. I have a cable going from the ethernet port of the modem to the modem port on the router. The pc is connected to one of the other four ports in the router. The wireless works fine, but I can't get the wired connection on the desktop working. The Internet light on the modem is not on, but the modem works fine when connected directly to the pc. I've tried power cycling and resetting everything, but it's still not working.
