Without my N 450 router hooked up I am getting hardwired speeds of 50/5 mb, but with N 450 hardwired into my PC the speeds drop to 20/5 mb. I have checked DHCP and I am not getting piggy backed. Is it a bottlekneck, misconfigured or just not compatible with Time Warner?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBelkin N450 Router. I want to restrict Internet access completely but allow LAN access to a shared drive for a particular computer on my wireless network. I have gone into the web based set up page and under access controls have enabled and added this computer to the list. I have blocked http, https, ftp and nntp. I don't know if this is enough. The reason I am asking is that I am in Iraq right now and I want to allow my fellow team members access to the wireless for using viber on their iphones but one cat even though he has hardwired internet wants to continuously suck off my wireless for his computer to download stuff since I paid for faster internet. I am trying to do this quietly and still allow him access to the shared drives on the LAN. Sooooo If I block him just outright will he still have access to the drives or do I need to pick and choose like I did above and if I need to pick and choose did I miss anything other then pop3 email and imap?

It is great with our ten different devices (possibly even a dozen?), but it continues to disconnect a Kindle Fire - that used to connect with no problem - evidently upon acquisition of a newer Kindle Fire. As long as MAC Filtering is not enabled, then there shouldn't be an issue of a "white list" - which the Kindle manual suggests as a solution ("If ... filtering is enabled, ensure your Kindle's MAC address is added to your router's white list in your network settings"). (I did figure out how to go to the network address, but was mostly flumoxed from there)

It was initially fine, however now the internet is disconnecting at an absurd rate, at least 3 within an hr, sometimes more, and the only way it would reestablish connection is by unplugging and replugging.I have called time warner's customer support and they said it was because of the router. I have searched through various threads and saw and some had similar problems, but they were related to wireless instead of wired ( my case) so is there some settings i can change within the linksys to minimize the amount of disconnections? Becaused based on the log from the RCA,it seems that they are not reading each other too well. Are there any other routers that may establish a connection better than the GS?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco PIx firewall that is connected to a cable modem with Time warner cable. I am supposed to have 35 down and 5 up for my speed on that modem. When I bypass the firewall and connect directly to the cable modem, I get download speeds in excess of 30 and upload speeds of about 5. However, when I connect via my workstation, which goes through the PIX, I am lucky to get speeds in the 1.2 for a download and 2-3.5 for the upload. I am using a laptop to test. We have gigabyte Cat5e cabling and gigabyte switches.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Belkin F7D4301 Router has the fastest wireless speed of maybe 2MBps but wired with a cat5e cable to my asus laptop of almost 7MBps. I have a one smart TV, one blue ray, one roku, and a nexus 7 using the 2.4 channel.
My Wireless 2.4 settings are channel 11, Extension channel 7, Wireless mode N (have tried with just g and b, g, and n modes), Bandwidth 20/40, Protected mode on, QOS off.
I've talked to Belkin tech support, they are the ones who had me set up my 2.4 channel this way but my wireless speeds stay just under 2MBps, they just want to keep sending me the same model Router because they think each of the new ones they send me is defective.
Am I doing something wrong or is 2MBps the best wireless speed I'm going to get?
have purchased Belkin wifi usb adapter dualband N450 and downloaded the driver from included CD, my OS is windows7 starterfter I plug in the adapter, the power ON is litting and wait for a while if will flashing but not. I opened the "NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER" and click the "CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS", the Belkin wireless adapter is disabled and had tried enabling it but still it is disable. I uninstalled the driver and the program, I checked in the internet and downloaded the file F9L1101v1_N600.exe and installed. Checked again but still the same problem before, Disabled and tried enabling but to no success.
