I am trying to find out what devices are connected to my router. I have had some illegal downloading from my IP address but it has not been done from my computer. It is showing in Cisco Connect that I have 15 devices connected, I should have no more than 6 devices connected so trying to figure out who is connected on my computer.
View 9 RepliesI have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

Intermittently the E1500 looses its ability to connect only to our Android devices and "Cisco Connect" displays that it has lost Internet connectivity. The PC hard-wired to the E1500 and another PC connected wirelessly both work fine when this happens, despite the Cisco Connect message. The Android devices show the presence of the network, but they never "connect" - find the IP address. The problem can only be resolved by re-booting (powering off/on) the E1500. The loss of connectivity to our two Android devices and the Cisco Connect error display always are concurrent. E1500 looses connection to Android devices

It has firmware 1.0.04 (but this problem happened with earlier firmware that it shipped with).I have a problem with the DHCP server on the E1500 - or maybe its a bad client - one of my clients, happens to be an iPad-2 doesn't seem to get properly connected. all of my other wireless DHCP clients - windows vista, windows 7, linux, android, mac and an old iPad1 all connect without problems. I also have wired devices that get their IP via DHCP for my TV, blu-ray, slingbox, DVR, without problems, its just this iPad2 that tries to connect, seems that it does, but can't access anything on the internet.I see this on the DCHP Client list (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table from the web interface) and I'm quite sure this is the cause of the problem with the iPad2. that MAC address is the address of my iPad2, and that IP# is the one I reserved for it.
I've set up that MAC address to have a reserved IP#, and forced the client name to Rays-IPad2 (as its named on the device) but it has the same behaviour as letting the DCHP server give it an IP# from its address pool. And if I reboot the E1500 and reboot the iPad2, it does actually connect for a few seconds, I can bring up a page in safari, etc, but soon within a few seconds, it switches the client name to this display of question-marks (non printable characters presumably) and it can no longer get to the internet.Is there anything I can do or try? There isn't another DCHP server running on the network, I don't know if something with the cable modem is causing a conflict, and if it were I'm not sure what I could do about that.
I have 3 laptops connecting wirelessly to this router. One is running at 18Mbps, the other two at 0.4Mbps. the internet setting are the same and the security is the same (WPA2-Personal with AES encryption). One of the slow computers is brand new and WAY faster than my "fast internet" computer. The other is about the same as the "fast internet" computer. I updated the I connected the new computer to the router tusing an ethernet cable and it had superfast internet. I redid the Cisco connect on each computer, but it didnt change anything. Why is it so slow wirelessly?

When the laptop has gone into standby and comes back out it is not connected to the internet or the 'secured side' of teh router. Instead, it asks for the 'guest side' password. When I try running Wireless Manager it goes through the entire process of 're-mating' adapter and router. That can't be right.How do I fix this so the system comes out of standby in the 'secured side' of the router?
I installed this Linksys E1500 yesterday and have had a problem keeping my iPhone 4 and an iPod Touch connected to WiFi.The devices go to sleep. When I swipe the screen and "bring them back" the WiFi is Not Connected. I have to go in and re-enter my network password again. As long as the devices don't go to sleep, they maintain connectivity. Once connected they function properly.
The iPad 2 & Samsung Galaxy S phone we have seem to be keeping their WiFi connectivity, as well as a G62 HP laptop running Windows 7, an older XP machine using a Cisco AE1000 wireless network adaptor and the Xbox 360. The issue is just with the iPhone 4(ios 5) and the iPod Touch(ios 4).
I had issues with the iPad and the Galaxy phone until i disabled WMM Support in App & Gaming.I would bring this back to the retailer but I had it sitting on my desk for about 30 days and it's past their return policy.The firmware is up to date on the Router. the question is why is this showing that Gig0/3 is being used twice to connect to two different devices. I have verified there is no hub connected to this port and in fact Switch3 is not connected to Switch1 at all yet it still shows up in the CDP table.
I have cleared the CDP table on every device at this location and still get the same results.
I've used Netgear & other routers for years; I was able to see the devices connected over ethernet & wifi through the router configuration utility. Cisco's interface looks poor; there is no way to see the connected devices.Many of the devices I have have a 5 Ghz radio and some don't so i need to see at what speeds they are connecting at.Or does Cisco not provide this utility? I am surprised that a high-end product from Cisco does not have this function.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy EA4500 with the latest firmware will only display nine connected devices at a time. It also seems to randomly shuffle which devices to show as connected, even though several more than nine are connected and online. Does anyone else's device list limit itself to displaying only nine devices? The Linksys phone apps also display a maximum of nine devices. I like the routers new user interface and understand that it has received a lot of praise, however this is the second bug I've experienced in as many months (the first being a failure of the device list to update once devices are upgraded to Windows 8, requiring a reset to default settings in order to fix).

Had a look my E3000 router IP is 192.168.0.1 but those problematic devices has IP 192.168.1.XXX allocated by DHCP not sure why. Currently I manually set up static IP 192.168.0.XXX for those devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, my wireless network at home has been very unreliable. I posted on these forums before, asking for assistance to fix crashes that seemed to be random. I was largely unsuccessful, and the problem continued. However, as I continued to experiment with different methods to keep my network up and running, I noticed that as long as I had at least one device connected to the network around-the-clock it never crashed. This was easy enough, as I own an iPod touch and a dock (I would leave it sitting it the dock unlocked all the time). But it's annoying to never be able to leave the house with it, and I'm ready to finally get a solution to the problem once and for all. I would prefer not getting a new router, but if worse comes to worse I will.
To sum it up:
-Works perfectly (when up) at full speed, never crashes unless there are no devices connected to it.
-When it does crash, it is very difficult to 'coax' it back into working again; it's been down for weeks at a time before.
-For some strange reason (and maybe this is a clue), newer game systems such as a Nintendo DSi or PS3 can make it start working again. I, of course, own neither of these.
-I'm using a WRT160N V3, latest firmware as far as i know.
I cant see in my network the devices connected to SE2500 just the SE2500 itself. The internet access of the devices connected to SE2500 is working correctly. Is this a problem?

[code] If I connect my computer to the HAG, it, of course, works fine.Yesterday, I hit the reset button on the back of the conitech router (because they didn't have the password) and went through the setup wizard, connecting my HAG to the WAN port on the router and it worked fine, both connecting via wireless and with a cable to one of the LAN ports on the router.Today it is no longer working. Both wireless and LAN show it is connected but I can't access the internet.

They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a big house so I have a e4200 on one end of the house upstairs and the WAP610n on the other end downstairs linked via CA6. I am having no issues with Laptops etc..just with Apple devices. I spent a lot of time with chat support (waste of time). WAP was flashed with latest firmware via hard wire no devices connected to wireless, has same ssid and security settings as router running on 2.4 ghz wpa2 personal AES. I am using 2.4 due to iphone4 does not support 5ghz and wap does not support dual band (another bummer). I am using AES instead of TKIP/AES mixed mode due to apple devices will not acquire dhcp with this setting and if they do they lose it right away. I have tried everything imaginable with the settings even changed beacon to 75, 50 RTS to 2304 etc...the current setting are the only ones that seem to work the best however when i run speedtest.net LA server or SD server the performance is horrible. On windows laptop i can achieve 27mbps down 2.5mbpsup, my apple devices use to achieve very close numbers to that on a simple configuration with two Dlink DGL-4300's one as router one as AP (G mode). So two major issues i have noticed is WAP610N has issues passing DHCP to apple devices and has extremely poor performance. So my question is will there be a firmware to correct this issue or a new hardware version that i can exchange this for if I RMA it or would it be best to call it a day and just get a E3200 and use it as a real simultaneous dual band AP???

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad the following network (fully functional) for last 3 years: Modem (netopia dsl 192.168.1.254) router (linksys wrt54gs 192.168.1.1) WAP1 (linksys wrt54g2 192.168.1.250) and WAP2 (Linksys wrt54g2).I was always able to click on Devices and Printers in Win 7 and would see the equipment displayed.I could also access the router and wireless access points by typing their address in my browser. The modem failed after 5 years.I purchase a new Netgear N300 ADSL2+Modem Router (DGN2200)and replaced the failed modem and attached router.I made no changes to either WAP's.Everything works just fine (after about 30 minutes on phone with Netgear Tech to configure), but now none of the equipment displays in Devices and Printers. Also, I cannot connect to either WAP by typing their address in browser.I can see the Netgear device when I click on "network" in file manager.It displays a model number and is labeled a "gateway".
I'm just curious as to why I am no longer able to "see" or access the devices. Looks like I would have to actually pull the WAP's and connect to them directly if I needed to change their configurations.
I just purchased a e1500 to replace my wrvs4400n which sadly died. yea I do loose a lot of features. I set up everything without a hitch but when I try to use Wireless-N mode only, none of my computers can connect to the router and all my computers use N cards. I'm stuck on using Mixed Mode which limits my speed to G speeds. I didn't purchase this to be a G router but an N router and it seems N mode has issues. I am on the current firmware.

I tried logging into the internet and my WIRED computer would not connect. My wifes WIRED computer next to mine didn't have any trouble connecting. Resetting my computer didn't work. I had to cycle the router by unplugging it! Then today, my (2) kids are using Pandora on their (2) computers wirelessly, and same set up with my wifes computer and mine, and again only my computer looses access from the router and all other computers stay connected.

I finally gave up and hooked back up our 6 year old belkin wi fi router. Had internet access in 1 minute. I bought this wi fi router was because Amazon described it as simple, quick, automatically does the work of hooking it up for you. Takes less than 5 minutes.
