My laptop won't connect to my wifi. No idea why. I've restarted it, the router and the modem but it didnt work. Thing is it says that it can pick up signal on my wifi but it won't connect. The desktop computer works fine and mom's Nook connects to wifi and works fine, it's just my laptop not working. I've also tried connecting it directly to the modem and it still won't connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am supposed to be working remotely. My Asus laptop has worked w/out issues at home, work, airport, etc, but it won't work in this house. The Nook connects to the wifi here w/out any problems.
The network box shows four bars and says I'm connected when I pull up the list of possible connections, but then when I troubleshoot it says, "no Internet acces".I have Windows 7 currently.
i've just a D-Link DIR-600 router last month and i successfully installed it and its working great. Until 2 to days ago, my brother told me that he can't conlnect to the wi-fi. I said that its working just fine and told him to just reset his phone. And then, my sister also told me that she can't connect too. I checked their devices like iPhone 4S and iTouch and it says "Unable to join the network....... Also phones of my friends can't connect also. It was just working fine. I haven't changed anything on the router's configuration. I already reset the router, unplug then plug it and its still not working. The router is connected to my laptop and I can still browse the internet. Its the wireless connection that is not.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot connect to the WiFi router, an all-in-one modem+router provided by my ISP. Now, I run an Ethernet cord from the router to my computer: the computer works just fine. As of a day ago, though, none of the home's Apple devices will connect to the network, despite reboots, password retypes, and shouting at them. Each device (two phones and an ipad) can identify my network, but they cannot join. Additionally, there is an old laptop that cannot connect anymore.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 on my desktop, and I've had problems since yesterday with my pc. My Vista notebook, ipad3, ipod touch, android based phone and blackberry are all able to connect to the wifi, but my desktop is unable to connect to the wifi or ethernet. Things were working fine until yesterday, when I had to power cycle, after which the desktop connection stopped, though other devices are working fine. My ipconfig details are as follows:

I was using the Internet fine lastnight switched on my acer laptop this morning and wasnt connected to the router. I tried connecting but it just fails. I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTo preface this message I need to state that I am functionally illiterate when it comes to any kind of networking. I just replaced an old Linksys wireless-G router with a new Linksys EA6500 router. My needs are as follows: I am connecting 4 desktop computers (two personal and two business) via Ethernet cables. In addition there will be three smart phones, two DVD players and one game console connected wirelessly. In the future I will add a printer, hard drive and more wireless devices. After installing the hardware and running the setup disk all four computers wired with Ethernet cables worked fine (although they are not set up to communicate or share files with one another - they only need to access the internet. My problem is with the wireless connectivity. I cannot get any one of the wireless devices to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my pc connected to the router with a cable. As soon as I switch it on I can't connect with any of my wireless devices like my laptop, tablet, mobile phone. As soon as I switch off the computer it works fine with all devices.
Is this a setting where the cable connected pc gets preference that I could switch off?
I just installed an older router (WRT120N). Purchased an adapter for desktop and wireless connection for destktop works. Cannot get other devices to use the wifi (iphone, ipod, android phone...). I am at a loss. Saw some suggestions about disabling a Upn or something under the router's LAN properties

I have already connected my Ubuntu laptop to my wireless router so I have internet. I would just like to be able to access files on my PC and vice versa similar to Windows Homegroup but I have no idea how.
PC = Windows 7 Ultimate - Laptop = Latest version of Ubuntu (I think it's 11?)

My sister and brother live next door to each other and althought they both use my sisters wifi they want to be able to homegroup or network via wifi without either of them having to use the adsl cable from the router to their laptops.. I tried setting both computers up on a homegroup network but they cannot look at each others music and documents my sister has Win 7 64bit and my brother has Win vista 32 bit ? The win7 is in English so it does not seem to hard to find things. I downloaded for my sister -Advanced IPscanner - and Netcut but netcut does not seem to work on 64 bit and the IPscanner recognizes my brothers computer but will not shut it off - they wanted to be able to know when the other is online and also be able to cut one another off when they choose to.

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy machine is HP ProBook 4530s (bought 2 weeks ago) with Atheros AR9285 WiFi adapter. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64. There is a public wireless network near my home which when I try to connect to I almost always get an "No Internet access" message and no connection. In the rare cases when I connect to the network it dissapears a few seconds after I manage to load a page. The reason why I'm writing about this is that I have another very old (4-5 years old) laptop - Asus with XP SP3 and Atheros 5006EG Wireless network adapter, which connects to this network very easily and with reasonable speeds. I have put the two computers next to each other and the old one connects with no problems, while the new, if finds the network (somethimes it doesn't show on the list of wireless networks or it shows with fewer bars), almost always gives the "No internet access" message and an occasional exclamation mark on WiFi network icon. I tried to read the descriptions of the two adapters online and as far as what I understand the new should be better in any way, but I am not familiar with the terminology, thats why i am starting this thread here.
My question is it possible my 5 years old laptop to have a stronger and better WiFi adapter than the new HP or is it a settings/software issue? If it is the latter, how can I fix it?
I have currently installed these drivers for my WiFi adapter - [URL]
One other thing is that when I bought the probook it came with Linux SUSE operating system and the signal was again weak. I am not familliar with Linux so I switched to Windows.
My pc desktop is connected to the wireless router by the ethernet cable and the laptop is connected through the wifi. now i want to connect laptop to the pc so that i can work on my desktop pc through the laptop, i can view the files and even edit them.

I have several different computers that connect to my home wifi connection through my router and they are either Windows Vista or Windows XP. This is the only Windows 7 I think or maybe not, I have a new little mini that has Windows 7 I think, however, I am not able to get this computer to connect. I have unplugged the modem, unplugged the router, restarted my computer, checked my wifi connection and no matter what I do it will not connect.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop that runs Windows Vista, and every time I want to connect to the Internet, I had it where I would enter the password each time, and I would always uncheck the boxes to save the connection. Today, my sister gets on my laptop and leaves the boxes checked, so now when I connect to my WiFi, I don't have to enter in a password anymore. Personally, I don't like this, and want to revert back to having to enter in the password each time. Is there a way that I can do that in Windows Vista, without having to reset the password itself or fooling with the router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know the wifi in the laptop works, i know the laptop has no issues.I know this because i switched my hard drive from my 1330 to this laptop which is also a 1330...connects and works fine.Wifi IS turned on In device manager the driver is ok no exclamation marks anywhere When i try and connect with the ethernet i get identifying no network access, then it says currently connected to unidentified network, no network access! You cannot browse. So that being said it must be in the setting with windows 7.I uninstalled and reinstalled the wifi driver it did not make any difference.I also tried using a Ethernet connection and it would not connect either. When i use the win 7 trubleshooter it states a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.Remember this laptop functions fine with my hard drive in it with windows xp.

View 19 Replies View RelatedToday my laptop (Lenovo T420 with Win 7) started acting up and I can't connect to any wireless networks anymore. I remember having the same problem just after buying the computer, but then it just disappeared and I never found out what happened. I tried restarting, turning the wifi switch off/on and also enabling/disabling the adapter, but nothing worked. Then I tried switching the wifi card with another identical one, but that didn't solve the issue either.

I have tried restarting my laptop multiple times (something that usually works for me in terms of reconnecting to the internet) but that didn't work. And like i said it does not recognize a single wi-fi network while my ipod, phone, and the other computers in my household recognize our wi-fi and our usual neighbors wi-fi without any problem.I was torrentingsome music yesterday, and may or may not have stumbled across a bad site with a virus, but that's the only conclusion I could make.(Currently posting this on my brother's computer)I need to get my connection back and get online again asap?

All other computers have been able to connect to the internet with no problems, and my computer will connect to other wifi connections, no problem.I can connect with a wire directly to the router, but no luck with wifi. I have also had this problem with one previous wifi network. I have tried many things, including taking the compter to a computer shop for them to look at and having another professional look at it, but so far no luck.
