Can't Obtain IP Address From Wireless Access Point After Few Days Of Uptime?

Dec 12, 2012

My set up is a 2wire router that connects to the internet, with an ethernet power plug connected to it. Over the other side of the house, I have the other ethernet power plug connected, with a Netgear router in access point mode.The main router is on 192.168.1.1, and the access point is on 192.168.1.3. The DCHP server is enabled on the main router with range 192.168.64 to 192.168.1.253. The access point has the DCHP server turned off. The routers have the same APN and security (WPA2-PSK).Also, the wireless channels don't overlap, channel 1 and 11.Now to my problem:The internet always works fine for a few days when the routers are turned on. But at some point between 1 to 3 days later, every computer can't obtain an IP address while connected to the access point. But all computers can connect to the main router (i.e. when closer to the main router than the access point), and then go near the access point and it keeps the connection. If I reboot the access point, then everything works again for a few days.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG54G2 - Bonjour Networking Stops Working After Few Minutes / Hours

Oct 21, 2010

Running Firmware v. 1.00.19 here, which I reckon is the most recent version.

My network consists of two Macbooks, an iMac and two iPhones. It utilizes WAP2 encryption and all devices are well within range, the environment being free of interferences from any other WiFi signals (this is a rural area).

My problem: Bonjour networking stops working after a few minutes or hours. When the problem appears, WIRED devices can see all other peers in the network (both wired and wireless), but WIRELESS devices cannot see any other peers whatsoever (wired or wireless).

I have heard that this could be because of a faulty implementation of uPNP by Linksys, and in particular a problem with multicast filtering (and unfortunately the modem/router's firmware does not provide any relevant settings). But I am not sure.

I purchased this thing with the express purpose to use it on a Mac-only network, and I am thoroughly disappointed to see that it does not work, especially since UPNP is supposed to be supported.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 - Show Interface Vlan (ID) Doesn't Show In / Out Traffic Rate

Mar 13, 2013

I have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless :: TL-WR1043ND / Web Interface Dies After A Few Days?

Nov 12, 2012

Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WR1043ND
Hardware Version : v1
Firmware Version : TL-WR1043ND_V1_120405
ISP : BT Infinity (1)

I have a TL-WR1043ND v1 with the latest firmware installed TL-WR1043ND_V1_120405.I loose access to the router (can't see web page, can't config, can't restart).I have a Linux server on the Ethernet, and uplink through 200Mbps powerline adapter to the BT Infinity modem. A few other devices on the wireless.The router works well and I prefer it to the BT Home Hub 3 for fiber because it proved to be faster in many cases as tested.But after a few days the web interface becomes inaccessible. It's like the web server died or something. Browser says connection reset, if I try telnet to port 80 says connection refused.Actually I just did a full netcat scan (sudo netcat -z -v -192.168.1.1 1-65535) and all ports say connection refused.Ping works - I can ping it allright.DHCP server works too, just restarted a computer and got IP from the router.Port forwarding works as well and DynDNS seems to work as well as my ISP changes the IP periodically and I can always find the updated one.All works - exept I can't access the router in any way!If I restart (remove power and plug it back in), it boots and I can access the router again.So restarting won't work remotely, I actually have to go home to re-plug it!

Cisco Wireless :: 1141n AP Radio Interface Resets After 2 Hours?

Jul 10, 2011

I have a couple of 114n APs in my network and the CAPWAP uptime and AP uptime are almost the same. But there is one which always resets after some time. I have moved across to another switch port but the issue persists. I have other 1141 and 1131's on this switch and no problems. The keep alives between the AP and Controller is regular. I can't get more info from the traps as the reason code is always;

" AP associated to Controller is UP. Reason: Radio interface reset due to Init"
"AP associated to Controller is down. Reason: Radio interface reset"
"AP associated to Controller is UP. Reason: Radio interface reset"

####Only 2ice was the reason code "Operator changed 11g mode". I have seen some posts about similar problems but there hasn't been any concrete solution provided.

note that RLDP is disabled, Primary discovery timer is 120sec, and the version is 7.098

D-Link DIR-655 :: How To Check Router Uptime

Jan 16, 2013

I get frequent internet disconnects.  Sometimes when I notice I can't get into the web gui; other time I can get in but I have to re-authenticate, and I see the wan port is re-initializing.  So of course, the "WAN uptime" starts again at zero.  I can then look at the "statistics" page and see that the LAN packets are really low (like low 4 digits).  SO, my guess is the router is randomly resetting.  But how can I check the router uptime??  I searched and I see plenty of folks reporting their uptimes, but I can't find it anywhere in the GUI.  I want to be able to prove that it's the router and not the cable modem or WAN connection....I was getting the logs emailed, but really can't decipher anything.  I have "system activity", "attacks", and "notices" enabled.  It's DIR-655, hardware B1, firmware 2.10NA.I already emailed DLINK support asking for a warranty replacement, as this one is only 10 months old.  If they don't come through, it's time to jump ship to a new vendor.  Will be my second dead one in under a year.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: C2960 Password-recovery Status Show Command

NOTE: The command does show up in the C2960 switch in config t mode (unlike the IOS router 2800 series), but doesn't show up in the running-config after you enable or disable it.

On the 2800 series routers (latest IOS) in config t mode the command does not show up but if you type "no service passowrd-recovery" the command function correctly and it does list it in the running configuration.
