Recently a router crashed and some suspicious about the client arised. The point is that now the order is to deny all kind of router admin access for the client. I was thinking, is this a good idea or will be better to give him limited access to the router, to avoid the client to try to access the router at all cost? Something like to stop the motivation to crack the router password.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRVS4000 router doesnt give out an IP address to a client connecting with QVPN v1.303, connection seems good, router logs the connection and tracks its duration etc but client side does not get an IP from the RVS4000 side -keeps local LAN ip + there is no access to the remote shares etc. RVS 4000 has DHCP enabled. Client side subnet is different to the VPN side. VPN users are setup correctly (Router logs the user as connected) . Port 443 is not setup in port forwarding.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 5 VLANs, I assign VLANs to its ports and make them all Untagged.I created ACLs and a ACE rules for each ACL, and then assigned to the ports.So what i am trying to do is to deny access to from one port to other 4 ports and granted access to any other ports. But it is not working, without last rule "allow any any" it has no access to any ports, with the last rule it grants access to every port even to those I denied.Router in Layer 3 mode, all VLANs have their IP's.
At some moment I was able to work it properly but without using any rules, I just tagged my untagged VLANs to those ports which I wanna get access to. As you can see I want allow ports GE1 - GE4 communicate with 1 to 24 ports but not to each other.

I have one computer (also Win 7 Ult.) that's my primary computer, the other 2 computers are mostly HTPC computers that I have set up to stream from my main computer.I do know how to set up Home groups for sharing files, but I could only set it up that there would be full access to the shares or no access at all. [For simplicity: My primary computer will be PC-1, the 2 HTPC's will be PC-2 and PC-3, and my laptop PC-4.]PC-1 will host all the files I want access to. PC-2 and PC-3 will access my music and videos folders for streaming. PC-4 which is my own personal laptop will have full access to shared folders that I DO NOT want being able to be accessed on PC-2 and PC-3.I have tried many and various types of ways to deny access from PC-2 and PC-3, where PC-4 would be allowed access to on my PC-1, but every time it's either all PC's get access or NO access to the shared folders. We have a guest wireless network using 1130AG Access Points. Is it possible to allow devices on this network access to an Internal IP? I know that kind of defeats the purpose on the guest network, but we'd like to give access to internal email to these devices. Currently this does not work because you cannot loop back into the network to gain access (out the firewall and right back in the same port).

It so happens that most of the time I turn on my router, it does not connect to microcomputer, because it loses the internet settings, requiring that I turn the CISCONNECT and after that, I have to turn off the microcomputer, wait for 2/3 minutes and then reconnect, for only then will be able to surf the internet. It will connect to the router but says it is an unidentified network and it doesn't connect to the internet. The connections had "limited access". I restarted my router and modem, and it did nothing. I unplugged everything and plugged it back it and the wifi would show, but I couldn't get on it. I restarted the router and modem, and it worked. I got on Cisco Connect and the signal wouldn't show. I got off the computer and later, I couldn't get on the internet again. Later on, I could get on the internet again. I got on Cisco Connect, and it still says that there is no connection. I haven't a clue what's going on. My modem is CenturyLink, and obviously, my router is Cisco.

They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop.The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source.If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender.When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.

I can access wireless adapters but it say's that I am not connected and that connections are available.I thought that maybe it was a driver issue so I've updated to the latest (9.2.0.470) and still no luck. I got the driver from the Samsung page for the laptop, I tried it on my home network (which is not using 11n) and it still has the same problem. I've looked around but can't seem to fix it.
