Cisco - Connections Had Limited Access
Dec 9, 2012
The past two days have been frustrating with my wifi. When I first got on it, I checked the internet access because I couldn't get onto the internet. The connections had "limited access". I restarted my router and modem, and it did nothing. I unplugged everything and plugged it back it and the wifi would show, but I couldn't get on it. I restarted the router and modem, and it worked. I got on Cisco Connect and the signal wouldn't show. I got off the computer and later, I couldn't get on the internet again. Later on, I could get on the internet again. I got on Cisco Connect, and it still says that there is no connection. I haven't a clue what's going on. My modem is CenturyLink, and obviously, my router is Cisco.

I travel and connect this device in the hotels. On this occasion, the hotel wired connection is limited to one device with username/password entered through the web page. Is there a way to share this connection using one of the modes to multiple devices (the devices will run in a different subnet than the hotel network). I understand I can do this in WISP mode but only for sharing hotel wireless connection. The hotel wifi has poor reception, hence I want to use wired. Is there a way to do this? I would imagine this would be not an unusual scenario in many top hotels. Mid hotels generally do not have such limitations.

I am sharing a network with someone upstairs. They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop. The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source. If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender. When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.

a new wireless adapter and modem installed, while everything can access the internet fine through this (including my laptop, which as far as I am aware does not support 802.11n) however her laptop can not access the internet. I can access wireless adapters but it say's that I am not connected and that connections are available.I thought that maybe it was a driver issue so I've updated to the latest (9.2.0.470) and still no luck. I got the driver from the Samsung page for the laptop, I tried it on my home network (which is not using 11n) and it still has the same problem. I've looked around but can't seem to fix it.

Access type: No network access Connections: has the correct network name. When I click on hidden icons, it says that I have full reception but it says limited access.

At one of our locations we are experiencing some problems getting connected to our wireless networks.
It is possible to sit right next to an AP (AIR-LAP1131AG) and only have limited access to the network.
I have attached a snapshot from inSSID from the wireless networks in the area. All of them are broadcasted by our controller and I can´t figure out how it is possible to see SSIDs in other channels than the ones in the 2.4GHz band (11-14)?

I have such limited access to some site that I usually browse. For sometimes, I was blocked from those sites. Those are the sites where I can get a lot of data/information I needed. Mostly, I am about to finish my work and have browsed those particular site for many times, then, the page give me an WinNT error of something like You dont have permission to blah blah or limited access which is frustrating sometimes. What will I do so that I can access those sites? How will I set up the proxy setting? Do I need to download proxy software to switches the proxy server automatically?

My laptop running Windows 7 has been fine until this holiday, connected to a hotel wifi that "trapped" the broswer and requested a login and password. That worked fine, but now I cannot access any other wifi networks. It sits for a while after entering the code and then has limited access, running the troubleshooter it says that I have no valid IP address?Tried IPCONFIG /RELEASE and it is saying "No operation can be performed on Local Connection 2 while it has its media disconnected"

Using Outlook to send & recieve mails from a webmail hoster, I regularly get booted off the internet and am left with the Limited Access message. Usually unplugging the router clears it but it is a nuisance to say the least.I have even tried reverting to a cable but the problem continues. The problem even happens to my wife's Samsung laptop, although the info below is from mine. I been struggling to repair my internet connection for more than a month now and i haven't found an answer yet. what happens is that every time i re-start my computer or some some time it just disappeared, my net connection. In order to get my connection back there are a lot of different procedures and mix up that i'll have to go through until one of them hit something and return the connection back up. Below are the action so far i have taken:
1. Re-start my computer.
2. Re-start my router
3. Intentionally plug out and plug in the hard wire connection.
4. Change the adapter settings by disabling and enabling it.
5. Do the re-installment of the network through device manager and so on...
i even have tried re-installing my windows 7 but still the problem persist.i have un-install my built in anti-virus esset thinking it may have some how contributed in the disturbance.
Specs: Windows 7 32bit intel core i7

I have a home network that works perfectly fine on all my wireless devices except one of my laptops. I'm getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it in my connections map from "this computer" to the name of my wireless network. I am running windows 7 and I have no idea what is wrong. It used to work fine and just stopped all of a sudden. I'm not sure if my wife or I messed something up.

I'm running on windows 7 professional with a realtek gigabit ethernet port. It's a gateway SX2370. It originally came with home premium and a bunch of bloatware so I restored with pro. I thought I installed all the drivers but a few minutes after bootup, the ethernet breaks. It works for a few minutes, as I can access the internet, and then itt gives me the no internet access error. I used a usb wireless card and that works after bootup, but doesn't run as nearly as fast as my gigabit ethernet.

how to share limited internet access with our tenants? We've run two 50 foot Ethernet cables to their unit. We're on Comcast Cable internet using a Linksys WRV200 router. Our connection ranges from 10-14Mbps down and 1-2Mbps up. We watch a lot of Netflix on our connection. I'd LIKE to limit their bandwidth so we can still enjoy Netflix. They MUST not see our Windows network.

I lost my internet a few days ago out of the blue. I have been in contact with my internet provider with no success. None of the troubleshooting options have worked and my security software is giving me warnings; but is unable to scan or update. I've rebooted, done a system restore and reset my IP settings via DOS, which has not worked either. I have full connectivity, just can't identify the network and therefore can't get passed to the internet. I have Windows 7.

Recently a router crashed and some suspicious about the client arised. The point is that now the order is to deny all kind of router admin access for the client. I was thinking, is this a good idea or will be better to give him limited access to the router, to avoid the client to try to access the router at all cost? Something like to stop the motivation to crack the router password.

I have a Cisco Linksys AE2500 wireless adapter and a Cisco Linksys e2500 wireless router. For the most part I seem to be able to connect to the internet with no problem. But whenever I stream video. to my PS3, my phone, Kindle or when I start using a lot of bandwidth my internet drops and I get the "limited access" message with the yellow <!> symbol. It still shows full bars and excellent connection, yet cant get onto the internet? This happened with my PC at my old house, I forget was I did to fix it though? If it matters though I can connect fine to the internet from my Laptop and my other devices.

I am trying to figure out how to give computers that connect to my LAN limited access. I have heard that some viruses, though rare, may travel through the network and infect all computers on the network. I want to prevent this. Is there any way to give computers connected to my network strict access to only the internet to prevent viruses or any other harmful attacks?

I have a Compac Presario w/Vista and I'm getting a limited connectivity message and can't access the internet. My cable modem is connected straight to the computer by ethernet wire. It happened before and I unistalled the Vista update and it was fine. I can't see what the problem is this time cause my Event log won't come up saying that the Snapin for the MMC isn't properly loading. I am able to see alerts but there wasn't any on that date. My Norton's won't come up either stating that the side by side configuration isn't right.
