I lost my internet a few days ago out of the blue. I have been in contact with my internet provider with no success. None of the troubleshooting options have worked and my security software is giving me warnings; but is unable to scan or update. I've rebooted, done a system restore and reset my IP settings via DOS, which has not worked either. I have full connectivity, just can't identify the network and therefore can't get passed to the internet. I have Windows 7.

I am using an Del note pad and was using an wireless connection from Talk talk past 45 days and it was working fine. As a sudden now the system is displaying Limited access. when i try to connect the internet - wireless . this is an windows 7
Model: DIR-655 HW Version: A3 Firmware: 1.35EA One problem with DIR-655.
Drops wireless connection very often. On the taskbar in wireless network center (next to speaker and time) I can find info: Limited Access. Router doesnt drop internet connection but only wireless connection. Sometimes 3-4 times an hour. It's very annoying especially when you upload large files (for example 16-20MB) to your mailbox. It drops connection and we get Limited Access and you can try to upload again and again. Anotner example during VOIP conversations for example on skype it drops and disconnects skype.Firmware was never updated just router was bought with this firmware. We are located in China so its correct. When laptops are connected using LAN cable it works fine but its impossible to keep laptops connected using LAN cables all the time. The problem occurs only when we are connected by wireless.QOS is enabled, WISH is enabled. When QOS and WISH disabled it's same also drops connections on WIFI.
This afternoon the computer crashed. It restarted normally, however will not connect to the internet. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.
I am currently on Time Warner Cable 10 mbps packge, and am using their wireless DOCIS3 modem/router. It is connected in my bedroom to the main computer. That computer stays connected. However, throughout the rest of the house (we have a two story townhome) it will drop completely or give limited connection...constantly. Sometimes I can have my laptop next to me and it will go out or give limited connection. The connection speed never drops, it just goes completely to no connection. Not for sure what is going on, if its on my end or time warner. Has been doing this for quite some time, the cable company comes out and changes the modem, but that's it, couple days later, goes back to doing it again.
I have a dell inspiron 15 and I've been having trouble fully connecting to my wireless internet. It says I have signal but gets stuck on identifying the network and I have limited IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity.
Here's the ipconfig if you can identify the issue with it:

I have a modem connected to a router wirelessly and an access point few computers have access to the internet and some has limited access even those close to the access point.
i got my laptop back from it being repaired. Even though they haven't actually fixed the problem But anyway i cant connect to the internet, it comes up with 'limited access'
Using Outlook to send & recieve mails from a webmail hoster, I regularly get booted off the internet and am left with the Limited Access message. Usually unplugging the router clears it but it is a nuisance to say the least.I have even tried reverting to a cable but the problem continues. The problem even happens to my wife's Samsung laptop, although the info below is from mine. We are having issue with all our Cicso wireless devices (AIR-AP1142N-N-K9) when connected to Windows 8 Pro users. When copying large files, the connection changes to limited access. The initial connection to the access points is also slow for both windows 7 and windows 8 pcs.
I am currently in Thailand and I have been using dozens of different wifi connections around Australia and South-east Asia without a problem for the last year. I moved into a new place yesterday and when I tried to connect, it has the little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, over the wireless symbol on the taskbar. I tried the troubleshooter but it says turn the modem off an on, I don't think I can do this, I'll try and ask reception but I doubt they will let me.
No-one else at this place I am staying has had the same problem as me. The signal strength is "excellent", the wifi password is correct. I have windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron.
I am at my old place now, where the internet works. I downloaded the internet test thing from one of the stickies, I'll go and do that at my new place and post the results soon.
I can not connect to my wireless network from my pc. My laptop is fine. the internet worked like 5 times.. but it's been dead for two days now and everything I try seems to fail.i can see my router in connections, (sometimes not) And when i see it, it says limited acess and works for like10 mins..The OS is Windows 7 ultimate 64bit and im using a gigabyte GN-WB01GS USB WLAN card#2 network adapter. The signal strength is good. Ran all the windows trouble shooters... nothing, though it works wired. After clicking connect im told that it is attempting to authenticate forever and that is all that happens,I dont get why it works sometimes, then doesn't.when the internet works it have worked like 5 times (for 10 minutes) but now i cant even connect to it..Whenever i tried to download SOMETHING, it stopped working. And the internet i had those 5 times was were slow, not 54 mbit net. [code]
I have been having this problem with limited access with my internet. I have deleted mcafee, norton, photoshop, applications etc. I have restored the system to a previous date. I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses. I have an Acer Aspire with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I only have wireless as I am sharing my internet and therefore can't test it with an Ethernet cable. I cannot switch on and off the modem box either. I have this limited access which disappears by itself after a few minutes. Then it comes back again. I disable the wireless and enable it again which solves the problem for only a few minutes. I have checked my ip which is 192.168.1.20 with submask of 255 something - which I don't think is the problem. At last, I have switched to Safe mode with Networking but even in this mode I still have limited access. The internet connection keeps cutting off and on all the time.
Is it possible to configure remote access (IPSEC client) to force all traffic through the tunnel (no split tunnel) yet still limit the internal hosts that can be accessed?
I have been asked to provide remote access (via ASA5510) with the following requirements:
- the client should have unrestricted internet access via the ASA (the source address will appear to be the outside interface of the ASA)
- the client should have access to only two internal hosts (192.168.10.10 and 192.168.44.10)
Is there a way to limit access to those two internal hosts, while still providing secured internet access? The only way I can see is to use an access list on another device (for example our core switch).
We had a lightning strike near the house and it fried my NIC card (or so I thought), also my power strip. I replace them both along with my Ethernet cables. My internet intermittently goes out, every couple of minutes. I keep getting pop ups saying "Local Are Connection has limited to no connectivity" and/or "a network cable is unplugged".
We have 2 houses on the same property only meters apart. The modem is in house 1 where we run 2 laptops and a computer. Another wireless laptop runs from house 2 and connects to the modem in house 1. However the signal on the laptop in house 2 has become very weak and keeps dropping out. I have tested my laptop in house 2 and the signal is strong in both houses and have tested the problem laptop in house 1 and the signal is strong but very weak in house 2. I have had the modem checked and all is working OK. I have had the wireless card in the problem laptop checked and it is working well off the premises. The only thing left to check is the electrical connect between the 2 house.
I'm trying to setup a router in my moms house. She has DSL and when the box is connected directly to her computer everything works fine. However, if I connect the router her computer reads "Limited or No Connectivity". I can connect to the router wired and wirelessly with my laptop, phone, and even her streaming media box without any problems. I ran IP config and i'm not geting a default gateway address.
I have a laptop that I usually use physically connected to my router, but sometimes I use it wirelessly when I want to lie down in bed. After using it wirelessly yesterday for about an hour,I brought it back to where I normally connect it with an ethernet cable but not I can't access the internet even with the ethernet cable plugged in! And wireless doesn't work either,I have "Limited or no Connectivity" for my LAN Connection and Wireless. I cannot afford a new computer (and I also doubt I need a new one).
recently we had a small blackout but electricity came back almost immediately. After that I had problems connecting to the internet with one of my wired connection computers (Windows XP). Connection has a Limited or no Connection status and the problem seems to be that the network doesn't assign a new ip adress.

Every time I want to install the software for it ( whether from the CD or web , new or old ) I get that pop up window during installation : " compatibility issue : skip and continue or stop installation " the program lunches as it should and after entering the WPA network key I'm even able to connect to the Internet . After resetting the PC however I get message in the task-bar that the connection is limited and I may not be able to access some Internet resources. When I click on Fix button it tells me that windows can not fix the problem because it can not turn off the device? I'm running the same card in one of my PC's downstairs and it works fine with windows vista . The one I have problem with is running in win XP pc .
I am working on development of a Windows based application which connects to a PDA like device over USB & communicates with it using RNDIS protocol. The device has a static IP in the APIPA range (169.254.2.1). When it is connected to PC, Windows allocates a dynamic APIPA IP (169.254.x.x) to the RNDIS adapter. I have confirmed that there is proper connectivity with the device (I can ping it, can access a web server on the device etc.).But the problem is that after Windows allocates the dynamic IP, a 'limited or no network connectivity' message is displayed in system tray.
Since the device & software will go out in the market, display of this message (& exclamation mark on the network tray icon) is undesirable. I know that it can be suppressed by setting property of network adapter, but would prefer a solution that would not require end users to do any settings using APIPA addresses is essential as we would like to avoid conflicts with end users' LAN addresses.
i am pretty good with computers but this problems got me stumped, my old desktop dell deminsions 4400 will not connect to my home network. So I first reinstalled the driver and plugged the wire in and like magic i had internet. so i took it up stairs, no internet connection. so i whipped out my handy dandy laptop and plug the wire into the cat5 port and i had internet. so this is telling me the wires in my walls are working, my router and modem are working, and my pc is doing something crazy when it changes elevation. I'm about to take it downstairs to see if itll work again
I am sharing a network with someone upstairs. They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop. The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source. If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender. When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.
a new wireless adapter and modem installed, while everything can access the internet fine through this (including my laptop, which as far as I am aware does not support 802.11n) however her laptop can not access the internet. I can access wireless adapters but it say's that I am not connected and that connections are available.I thought that maybe it was a driver issue so I've updated to the latest (9.2.0.470) and still no luck. I got the driver from the Samsung page for the laptop, I tried it on my home network (which is not using 11n) and it still has the same problem. I've looked around but can't seem to fix it.
I attempt to log onto my parent's (golferguy) wireless network. It says under view your active networks: unidentified network (public network). Access type: No network access Connections: has the correct network name. When I click on hidden icons, it says that I have full reception but it says limited access.
I recently brought a new acer aspire with windows 8, it connects to the router/internet fine except every 10-20 mins (sometimes less) or so I get disconnected, my wifi icon in the tray shows a yellow '!', when I look in the wifi charm (the side bar thing) 'limited' is next to my routers name, but in reality It doesn't seem to have any connectivity atall.
