One problem with DIR-655.
Drops wireless connection very often. On the taskbar in wireless network center (next to speaker and time) I can find info: Limited Access. Router doesnt drop internet connection but only wireless connection. Sometimes 3-4 times an hour. It's very annoying especially when you upload large files (for example 16-20MB) to your mailbox. It drops connection and we get Limited Access and you can try to upload again and again. Anotner example during VOIP conversations for example on skype it drops and disconnects skype.Firmware was never updated just router was bought with this firmware. We are located in China so its correct.When laptops are connected using LAN cable it works fine but its impossible to keep laptops connected using LAN cables all the time.The problem occurs only when we are connected by wireless.QOS is enabled, WISH is enabled.When QOS and WISH disabled it's same also drops connections on WIFI.
We are having issue with all our Cicso wireless devices (AIR-AP1142N-N-K9) when connected to Windows 8 Pro users. When copying large files, the connection changes to limited access. The initial connection to the access points is also slow for both windows 7 and windows 8 pcs.

I lost my internet a few days ago out of the blue. I have been in contact with my internet provider with no success. None of the troubleshooting options have worked and my security software is giving me warnings; but is unable to scan or update. I've rebooted, done a system restore and reset my IP settings via DOS, which has not worked either. I have full connectivity, just can't identify the network and therefore can't get passed to the internet. I have Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have 2 houses on the same property only meters apart. The modem is in house 1 where we run 2 laptops and a computer. Another wireless laptop runs from house 2 and connects to the modem in house 1. However the signal on the laptop in house 2 has become very weak and keeps dropping out. I have tested my laptop in house 2 and the signal is strong in both houses and have tested the problem laptop in house 1 and the signal is strong but very weak in house 2. I have had the modem checked and all is working OK. I have had the wireless card in the problem laptop checked and it is working well off the premises. The only thing left to check is the electrical connect between the 2 house.

However, if I connect the router her computer reads "Limited or No Connectivity". I can connect to the router wired and wirelessly with my laptop, phone, and even her streaming media box without any problems. I ran IP config and i'm not geting a default gateway address.

After resetting the PC however I get message in the task-bar that the connection is limited and I may not be able to access some Internet resources. When I click on Fix button it tells me that windows can not fix the problem because it can not turn off the device? View 10 Replies View Relateda new wireless adapter and modem installed, while everything can access the internet fine through this (including my laptop, which as far as I am aware does not support 802.11n) however her laptop can not access the internet. I can access wireless adapters but it say's that I am not connected and that connections are available.I thought that maybe it was a driver issue so I've updated to the latest (9.2.0.470) and still no luck. I got the driver from the Samsung page for the laptop, I tried it on my home network (which is not using 11n) and it still has the same problem. I've looked around but can't seem to fix it.

i have built my PC from the ground up with what little budget i had, upon completion i started it up and installed my wireless adapter from linksis and i could not connect i went on my netbook (what i am on now) and checked my router and i didn't have any from of connection with my PC so i tried a wired connection and still no joy i have tried a different adapter a Belkin one i have even switched the router
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased this router a few months ago from Dell. It is currently limiting our Internet connection to no more than 2 Mbps down. I originally thought it was our Internet service and them troubleshoot the line but they found nothing wrong. If I bypass the router and connect directly to the modem, we get our normal speed of 10+ Mbps. I've updated the router firmware, tried tweaking according to other tips I've found, but cannot get past the slow speeds.

It's happening very often and especialy when downloading.I updated firmware and tried different channels, didn't work. Network mode is Mixed, could this cause the problem? My laptop used to connect intermittently earlier - sometime the connection would be restored when i reset the router or restarted the laptop but now I'm just not able to at all. The message i get is either "Limited Access" or "Unidentified Network. No internet access" - the signal strength always is excellent. I have tried switching off and on the wireless router, have disabled and then enabled the wireless connec on the laptop, have reconfigured the wireless network on the router with a new network name and password but nothing works. However I am able to connect to the internet using the network cable - there were a few times where I couldn't do that either. As of last night, I cannot connect to any of the wireless networks I use every day (my personal home network or my school's WPA2).
The signal strength is very good, but it says "Limited Access" next to the network name. Apparently "Limited" means "No" because I am not connected. Here's what happened:Lavasoft Ad-Aware was blocking a site that I needed to access. I haven't used Ad-Aware in months, and it did not even appear to be running. So uninstalled it with Add/Remove programs in the control panel. BUT, mid-way through the uninstallation, I got a blue screen and my computer restarted. When my computer booted back up, I could no longer connect to my home's wireless. I'm at school now and I cannot connect here either. Ad-aware is gone from the add/remove programs list, but there is still an Ad-Aware folder in Program Files. The folder still has a bunch of stuff in it, including adaware.exe. I dont see an uninstaller (but i havent really investigated that yet). so now i can't connect to any network. Here's What I've TriedRan troubleshooter. Useless. Turned off my netbook's wireless. turned it back on. Device manager says my Network Adapters are working fine. No yellow or red icons next to them. also tried resetting stuff with the command prompt. something about winsock and netsh. I don't know what I was doing though. just following instructions from other people on yahoo answers when i googled the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E3000 Dual Band. Currently, I have 3 laptops and two 360s on our network. They work fine. Up until last week so did my other kid's computers. They came home from college and attempted to get on our network unsuccessfully. In their network and sharing center, both their computers say under view your active networks: unidentified network (public network). Access type: No network access. Connections: has the correct network name information. When they attempt to access the network with the correct password, they show 4 bars of reception and a message of limited access (along with the above message). I did a little checking and found that our router info differs from their auto configuration. Our IPv4 starts with 192 not 169 like thiers. Also, the subnet masks are different. Also, they have no info in the IPv4 default Gateway, IPv4 DNS Server, and IPv4 WINS Server. Finally, my wife tried to acces the network with an ebook reader. It shows secured WPA2, but won't access it.

The router I'm using as Model WRT-160N V3. My second computer, operating with Windows 7, has complete access; it's the computer on which I'm working right now. I have reset the router (unplugging everything and waiting 15 seconds before plugging in again), and I have rebooted the other computer. I suspect that somehow some of the applicable settings have been modified on the affected computer, but I don't have the knowledge about what the settings should be or where they are maintained.
