I attempt to log onto my parent's (golferguy) wireless network. It says under view your active networks: unidentified network (public network). Access type: No network access Connections: has the correct network name. When I click on hidden icons, it says that I have full reception but it says limited access.
View 11 Repliesa new wireless adapter and modem installed, while everything can access the internet fine through this (including my laptop, which as far as I am aware does not support 802.11n) however her laptop can not access the internet. I can access wireless adapters but it say's that I am not connected and that connections are available.I thought that maybe it was a driver issue so I've updated to the latest (9.2.0.470) and still no luck. I got the driver from the Samsung page for the laptop, I tried it on my home network (which is not using 11n) and it still has the same problem. I've looked around but can't seem to fix it.

It's happening very often and especialy when downloading.I updated firmware and tried different channels, didn't work. Network mode is Mixed, could this cause the problem? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am unable to connect to my home wifi from my laptop but it connects fine at work. All other devices (2 androids and 1 laptop) are able to connect to the home network. My laptop used to connect intermittently earlier - sometime the connection would be restored when i reset the router or restarted the laptop but now I'm just not able to at all. The message i get is either "Limited Access" or "Unidentified Network. No internet access" - the signal strength always is excellent. I have tried switching off and on the wireless router, have disabled and then enabled the wireless connec on the laptop, have reconfigured the wireless network on the router with a new network name and password but nothing works. However I am able to connect to the internet using the network cable - there were a few times where I couldn't do that either. I've tried browsing on several forums to get answers but haven't found any yet. [code]

One problem with DIR-655.
Drops wireless connection very often. On the taskbar in wireless network center (next to speaker and time) I can find info: Limited Access. Router doesnt drop internet connection but only wireless connection. Sometimes 3-4 times an hour. It's very annoying especially when you upload large files (for example 16-20MB) to your mailbox. It drops connection and we get Limited Access and you can try to upload again and again. Anotner example during VOIP conversations for example on skype it drops and disconnects skype.Firmware was never updated just router was bought with this firmware. We are located in China so its correct.When laptops are connected using LAN cable it works fine but its impossible to keep laptops connected using LAN cables all the time.The problem occurs only when we are connected by wireless.QOS is enabled, WISH is enabled.When QOS and WISH disabled it's same also drops connections on WIFI.

As of last night, I cannot connect to any of the wireless networks I use every day (my personal home network or my school's WPA2).
The signal strength is very good, but it says "Limited Access" next to the network name. Apparently "Limited" means "No" because I am not connected. Here's what happened:Lavasoft Ad-Aware was blocking a site that I needed to access. I haven't used Ad-Aware in months, and it did not even appear to be running. So uninstalled it with Add/Remove programs in the control panel. BUT, mid-way through the uninstallation, I got a blue screen and my computer restarted. When my computer booted back up, I could no longer connect to my home's wireless. I'm at school now and I cannot connect here either. Ad-aware is gone from the add/remove programs list, but there is still an Ad-Aware folder in Program Files. The folder still has a bunch of stuff in it, including adaware.exe. I dont see an uninstaller (but i havent really investigated that yet). so now i can't connect to any network. Here's What I've TriedRan troubleshooter. Useless. Turned off my netbook's wireless. turned it back on. Device manager says my Network Adapters are working fine. No yellow or red icons next to them. also tried resetting stuff with the command prompt. something about winsock and netsh. I don't know what I was doing though. just following instructions from other people on yahoo answers when i googled the problem.

They came home from college and attempted to get on our network unsuccessfully. In their network and sharing center, both their computers say under view your active networks: unidentified network (public network). Access type: No network access. Connections: has the correct network name information. When they attempt to access the network with the correct password, they show 4 bars of reception and a message of limited access (along with the above message). I did a little checking and found that our router info differs from their auto configuration. Our IPv4 starts with 192 not 169 like thiers. Also, the subnet masks are different. Also, they have no info in the IPv4 default Gateway, IPv4 DNS Server, and IPv4 WINS Server. Finally, my wife tried to acces the network with an ebook reader. It shows secured WPA2, but won't access it.

The router I'm using as Model WRT-160N V3. My second computer, operating with Windows 7, has complete access; it's the computer on which I'm working right now. I have reset the router (unplugging everything and waiting 15 seconds before plugging in again), and I have rebooted the other computer. I suspect that somehow some of the applicable settings have been modified on the affected computer, but I don't have the knowledge about what the settings should be or where they are maintained.

I have a notebook connected by Wireless and a desktop connected by cable.Sometimes my wireless connection are limited, but my computer (connected by cable) still working fine.I`ve tried to disable DHCP and input static IP address but I didn't work.I have used for almost one week without problem, and sometimes this problems happens three times in one hour.The only way to reconnect the wireless is restart the TP-LINK and my internet modem.I`m using the latest firmware version.
We are having issue with all our Cicso wireless devices (AIR-AP1142N-N-K9) when connected to Windows 8 Pro users. When copying large files, the connection changes to limited access. The initial connection to the access points is also slow for both windows 7 and windows 8 pcs.

They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop.The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source.If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender.When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.

The connections had "limited access". I restarted my router and modem, and it did nothing. I unplugged everything and plugged it back it and the wifi would show, but I couldn't get on it. I restarted the router and modem, and it worked. I got on Cisco Connect and the signal wouldn't show. I got off the computer and later, I couldn't get on the internet again. Later on, I could get on the internet again. I got on Cisco Connect, and it still says that there is no connection. I haven't a clue what's going on. View 19 Replies View RelatedI been struggling to repair my internet connection for more than a month now and i haven't found an answer yet. what happens is that every time i re-start my computer or some some time it just disappeared, my net connection. In order to get my connection back there are a lot of different procedures and mix up that i'll have to go through until one of them hit something and return the connection back up. Below are the action so far i have taken:
1. Re-start my computer.
2. Re-start my router
3. Intentionally plug out and plug in the hard wire connection.
4. Change the adapter settings by disabling and enabling it.
5. Do the re-installment of the network through device manager and so on...
i even have tried re-installing my windows 7 but still the problem persist.i have un-install my built in anti-virus esset thinking it may have some how contributed in the disturbance.
