I have a home network that works perfectly fine on all my wireless devices except one of my laptops. I'm getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it in my connections map from "this computer" to the name of my wireless network. I am running windows 7 and I have no idea what is wrong. It used to work fine and just stopped all of a sudden. I'm not sure if my wife or I messed something up.
View 11 RepliesI am unable to connect to my home wifi from my laptop but it connects fine at work. All other devices (2 androids and 1 laptop) are able to connect to the home network. My laptop used to connect intermittently earlier - sometime the connection would be restored when i reset the router or restarted the laptop but now I'm just not able to at all. The message i get is either "Limited Access" or "Unidentified Network. No internet access" - the signal strength always is excellent. I have tried switching off and on the wireless router, have disabled and then enabled the wireless connec on the laptop, have reconfigured the wireless network on the router with a new network name and password but nothing works. However I am able to connect to the internet using the network cable - there were a few times where I couldn't do that either. I've tried browsing on several forums to get answers but haven't found any yet. [code]

They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop.The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source.If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender.When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI been struggling to repair my internet connection for more than a month now and i haven't found an answer yet. what happens is that every time i re-start my computer or some some time it just disappeared, my net connection. In order to get my connection back there are a lot of different procedures and mix up that i'll have to go through until one of them hit something and return the connection back up. Below are the action so far i have taken:
1. Re-start my computer.
2. Re-start my router
3. Intentionally plug out and plug in the hard wire connection.
4. Change the adapter settings by disabling and enabling it.
5. Do the re-installment of the network through device manager and so on...
i even have tried re-installing my windows 7 but still the problem persist.i have un-install my built in anti-virus esset thinking it may have some how contributed in the disturbance.

I am trying to figure out how to give computers that connect to my LAN limited access. I have heard that some viruses, though rare, may travel through the network and infect all computers on the network. I want to prevent this. Is there any way to give computers connected to my network strict access to only the internet to prevent viruses or any other harmful attacks?

I have not installed any new programs, only updating windows every now and then. Now, I cannot connect to my network (globe broadband) and typing ipconfig showed me no numbers for the default gateway and an ip address starting at 169, which I believe is incorrect. My laptop says that my drivers are up to date.Other laptops can connect just fine on the network, mine is the only exception. If I I have to connect, I have to choose "Other Network", and it always tells me that I have connected unsuccessfully, then showing me I only have limited access.

I can connect to the network and I can see phase 1 and 2 complete from the debugs however from what I can tell I can only ping across the VPN. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an E3000 Dual Band. Currently, I have 3 laptops and two 360s on our network. They work fine. Up until last week so did my other kid's computers. They came home from college and attempted to get on our network unsuccessfully. In their network and sharing center, both their computers say under view your active networks: unidentified network (public network). Access type: No network access. Connections: has the correct network name information. When they attempt to access the network with the correct password, they show 4 bars of reception and a message of limited access (along with the above message). I did a little checking and found that our router info differs from their auto configuration. Our IPv4 starts with 192 not 169 like thiers. Also, the subnet masks are different. Also, they have no info in the IPv4 default Gateway, IPv4 DNS Server, and IPv4 WINS Server. Finally, my wife tried to acces the network with an ebook reader. It shows secured WPA2, but won't access it.

I have deleted mcafee, norton, photoshop, applications etc. I have restored the system to a previous date. I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses. I have an Acer Aspire with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I only have wireless as I am sharing my internet and therefore can't test it with an Ethernet cable. I cannot switch on and off the modem box either. I have this limited access which disappears by itself after a few minutes. Then it comes back again. I disable the wireless and enable it again which solves the problem for only a few minutes. I have checked my ip which is 192.168.1.20 with submask of 255 something - which I don't think is the problem.At last, I have switched to Safe mode with Networking but even in this mode I still have limited access. The internet connection keeps cutting off and on all the time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently took my Dell Inspiron1545 out of sleep mode and my wireless internet connection no longer works.i have tried power cycling the 2-wire modem and the Cisco Valet router and resetting as well. I also have another laptop and xbox that use this network and are having NO issues in connecting and working perfectly fine.
The only device not working is the Dell laptop. I've tried removing the network profile, uninstalling the wifi driver and reinstalling after powercycling the computer and still nothing but limited connectivity only The WLAN utility has stated that the "Gateway IP Ping" has failed Now the laptop will connect to internet via LAN cable however will not to WiFi

I currently have a BT Home Hub 3 router and an Ubiquiti Power AP N.What I am trying to do is use the Ubiquiti access point as the main device for all connections in my house (ethernet and wireless) so that I can use the QoS settings etc. I basically want the Home Hub router to play as little role as possible in the network except for providing the ADSL internet connection.I know I need to enable DHCP on the access point but everytime I do so the devices connected to the access point lose internet connection.(BTW I have an ethernet cable connected from one of the routers LAN ports into the access point's WAN port)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using a laptop to stream videos through my xbox for over 2years until recently. I setup a wireless network in the house to do this. All was fine until 3 days ago.I use a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I have a Dell Wireless 1397 Minicard, a cisco router (model #2425). Since my laptop was infected by Malware, my network has not worked since. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of it and it appeared to work. I got internet access back. However, I still cannot connect to my network (visible in the Available Network list as normal) or stream any media.Windows Media Centre also has stopped opening and gives me the small box saying 'windows is checking for a solution', then closes with nothing. I can however open WMC if I right click and 'run as administrator'?! I have disabled all other network adaptors, only the Dell minicad is enabled and also tried disabling and enabling this main one with no effect. All problems point to the fact that my laptop can no longer connect to the home network but I cant figure out why?!Another (possibly unrelated) problem is occuring at boot up where I get an error message saying 'Bluetooth Software License not found. I know this is not very professional but it works for me.From the new laptop I can see all the network and see all the different drive folders but can only access the user folder on any PC from the new laptop. Also I can see the drives on the new laptop but only access the new laptops user folder from any other PC. I have checked this through a LAN cable and wireless with no difference.As the other PC's can see each other as normal I can only think there's a problem with the set up in the new laptop. I also note when I first try and access any other pc from the new laptop I am asked a domain name and password , I can put anything in these boxes and get to see the network but as I said above only access the user folders. Now I cannot even load the site or load the cPanel login page here: jetbaby.com:2082 All I did was change the cPanel password. When I use another computer that is NOT on my network, I can connect to the site fine. I'm assuming that my network is blocking it for some reason after the cPanel password change. I tried the IP address in the address bar as well (still no go). Cannot "ping" the IP address either. I reset my modem and router as well. Cleared cache in browsers as well. I also disabled firewall and anti-virus for testing.
