I have an ADSL connection using a wireless DLink modem 2730U I want to share my internet with my neighbour as limited speed and limited traffic.How can I do this? Is it possible as wireless?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a adsl modem tp link td 8840, and i had this up and running well for about 3 days. then we decided to get a router cause my little sis got a ipad2.the router is dlink dir 61.so basically i followed all the instructions and the internet was working fine.then for some reason ign site stopped working, i thought that it was down for some reason and didn't think much of it and today when i tryed to go into hotmail or facebook it doesn't work either. so i can get into the log in pages of both, but when i put in the id and password, the screen goes blank and just says waiting for .... on the bottom (using google chrome).and it never loads.i tryed with other internet browsers and it din't work so i took out the router and re wired the adsl modem only and voila. all the sites started working again.i want to use my router but i don't know why i can't acess some sites when i have it connected.

I also have a small home network, with one other PC and a Game Console. I own a Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router. My problem is this. How do I share that internet connection with the rest of the home network?To the best of my knowledge its not possible to connect my mobile phone directly to my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router.
So my alternative idea is to connect to the internet via one PC, set up that internet connection as "Shared." and then allow the other devices on the home network to connect thru this. My question is how do I set up my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router to allow my other PC and game console connect to the internet? Bridge Mode? PPPoE?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using DD-WRT firmware on my Linksys WRT160v3 for more than a year. I never used a PPPoE internet connection on my router. So, I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong which causes me "NO INTERNET CONNECTION". It seems to me that the router itself can connect to the internet. But, I cannot get any internet on my pc or wirless device (neither on LAN or WiFi). I tried sharing the internet through my laptop using connectify-me. And, I was able to share my internet to my mobile devices (WiFi) without any problem.
Do I need to put DNS or change any setting?
i would like to share internet from my USB modem purchased from a local mobile communications provider with several other computers. how to achieve this.i will have to purchase a wireless usb router and then attach the internet dongle to it. i need to know what configurations i need to make from there. and can any router work with this usb dongle or is there a specific one that i need to purchase.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 usb dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port. I get a connection at 40% and 100 bytes are sent and some are received but the connection drops. Is it a problem with the connection? I will upload a image.

When both are powered up, the wireless router sometimes doesn't get internet access because the modem automatically logs itself in. I have to plug the modem cable to my laptop, manually disconnect the modem, and plug the modem cable back to the router to fix it.

I'm getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it in my connections map from "this computer" to the name of my wireless network. View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought a D-Link DIR-655 hoping to get a faster connection over my Netgear WNR2000.I runs mostly fine apart from the occasional freezes and one other problem: youtube video's won't load. I can search and browse youtube, but when I click on the video, the page loads but the video just doesn't load. I can see the play/pause button and the circle telling use the video is loading. Then that's it. Nothing happens. When I plug back my WNR2000, Youtube videos load fine. Same thing on my roommate's laptop. I bought this router over a month ago so I can't return it, spending $80 on a piece of shit like is frustrating when living off a student budget. I'm just about to throw it out the window

I tried to create a network to give acces to my friend laptop when he comes home(he has a mac). I setuped a network with a name and a password. So my friend could find the network name and i gave him the password, but it never works. Another friend of mine also came with an older iBook laptop and the same thing happens.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple wireless home network. My main desktop machine is running XP Pro, and our family laptop is running XP Home. The laptop shares the My Documents folder for 2 of the 3 profiles. One of them works as it should. It is visible and accessible on the main desktop machine, but the other share is visible but NOT accessible. I get the following error message when I try to explore it from the main desktop machine:
<the share name> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Access is denied.
I'm not sure when this started, but remember that the other folder being shared is working just fine. I've double and triple checked the settings, share names, and basically anything I could possibly mistype. I've restarted both PCs, and refreshed the network explorer via both the file explorer and My Computer dialog. The My Computer dialog refresh the shares for some reason that the explorer wouldn't, but I'm still denied access to that one share on the laptop.

I connected network Peripherals as follows.(router/switch/access point/PC-01 or PC-02)one access point connected with 4 PCs with one usb printer.this printer connected with one pc.4 pcs are in same home group.They were worked well before, but now the computers cannot ping each other.Many time clint pc can't connect to server pc (Printer attached pc).rinter shows offline.advanced sharing settings are normal as microsoft. The wife’s laptop and the Wii console connect to the router wirelessly. I also connect a few PC directly to the router via Cat5 cables which runs through most rooms in the house. Since the router is down in the basement in my control panel along side the cable modem and what not. This causes the wireless single to be pretty weak in certain parts of the house. What I was planning on doing is taking the D-link router connecting it to the wall jack upstairs to the internet port on the router. Then setting both routers to static and changing the Belkin router to DHCP?

For the purposes of a high def throughput, I have a wired connection from the router to a Windows Media Center appliance in a separate room.However, now I have a second media appliance (Roku device) that I want to run in a wired fashion as well. Here is the thing, I don't want to run a second Ethernet line from the router to new roku device. Is there some way I can share the existing ethernet line between the roku device and the media center appliance? Ideally, since the two devices would never be used at the same time, I was hoping some other network device (another router?) could be hooked up to split the line between the devices. Worst case, is there some simple splitter I can use? Obviously I am trying to avoid the worst case scenario: switching the ethernet connection manually between the two devices every time I want to go from one to the other.

I know this is not very professional but it works for me.From the new laptop I can see all the network and see all the different drive folders but can only access the user folder on any PC from the new laptop. Also I can see the drives on the new laptop but only access the new laptops user folder from any other PC. I have checked this through a LAN cable and wireless with no difference.As the other PC's can see each other as normal I can only think there's a problem with the set up in the new laptop. I also note when I first try and access any other pc from the new laptop I am asked a domain name and password , I can put anything in these boxes and get to see the network but as I said above only access the user folders. I do have password access turned of.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a CDMA compatible modem which connects to my Desktop PC via USB.it works fine, but I'd like to share my internet connection with another Laptop, Wirelessly via a Router. The router connects to my Pc via Lan cable. I activated Internet Connection Sharing in the properties of my modem and connected it to the Internet.I hoped my Router would detect an Internet connection on My network and would enable internet connectivity on My wireless AP on the Router. But it didnt. is that windows refelcts "internet access" on both the actual Wireless network on my Router ("49 network") , and on both the Physical Connection to my pc via the Ethernet port ("3G Router") my laptop connects to the router, but without access to the internet, and I keep getting an 'unable to resolve host' message in my Browser. Suspecting my Router of somehow causing the problem I also tried setting up an Ad hoc network instead (using my wlan card to interface with the Laptop directly). They connect fine, and my Printers and other shared resources all appear, but the wireless range between them is like bluetooth compared to the great range of my router.& I still cant manage to share an Internet connection between the two machines!

The USB acts as 3G modem for a single PC that's connected to it, what I want is to share that internet using my D-Link DIR-655 router so I'd be able to connect my iPhone and PS3 as well.
How to get that setup working as smoothly as possible would be great. DIR-655's default gateway is 192.168.0.1, and the auto DHCP range IIRC is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.
