I am preparing configuration (currently in lab) for Per-Tunnel QoS in DMVPN on ASR 1002F for one of our customers, and I came across one issue. According to restrictions for this feature, I cannot apply per-tunnel QoS in conjunction with interface based QoS. This means, I can provide shaping with hierarchical CBWFQ for each spoke, but I cannot guarantee anything on physical interface! What if there are services in native MPLS? I am also unable give reservations for BGP which is used on PE-CE link! How about monitoring spoke PE-CE links natively? I can only apply policy-map with class-default on physical interface. When I add anything related to queuing for that class (or any other non-default class) I get the message:
R1(config- pmap)class routing
R1(config- pmap-c)#bandwidth 16
service-policy with queuing features on sessions is not allowed in conjunction with interface based

CBWFQ kicks in when the interface becomes congested and there is no available space in the queue but I need to find a solution to the scenario below:Im using a Gigabit interface on the 3945 Router that connects to the ISP. The ISP limits bandwidth to 60Mb so I need to make sure when I reach the limit of the 60Mb the router starts using the BW percentages defined in the policy-map using classes. any kind of traffic go out as it wants but as soon as the 60Mb limit is reached, the priorities defined by the traffic classes will kick in just as if the interface ran out of queues (as CBWFQ usually works).

Quick question here. Using 3750E series switches with multiple VLANS configured. These switches serve as our 'core'. I have SVIs configured for the different VLANs and add inbound ACLs in each of the SVIs to control traffic between VLANS. This switch also terminates a P2P Ethernet link which connects to our Colo facility. The port used for this is configured as an L3 port. I noticed today that I was able to send traffic across this L3 link that I thought should have been blocked by an ACL I had in place but it wasn't. So the traffic flowed from a port in say VLAN 20 across this L3 link (assigned with an IP address). Would this traffic flow not cause traffic to be checked against an ACL applied in the inbound direction on the SVI of VLAN 20 (int vlan 20)? Traffic does get checked when routing between SVIs. Why would it not get checked when routing between SVI and L3 interface?

I have a 50 Mbps metro ethernet connection between our main office, and our collocation site, where we store web servers, DR equipment and VPN access gateways. I have two Cisco 3845 ISR's connected to the metro E circuit. The interfaces on each router are configured as 100/full as requested by my ISP. We are connected via ethernet to a fiber media converter.
As I understand, CBFWQ will not kick in until congestion occurs on an interface. I also understand that the bandwidth command on an interface is to provide bandwidth related information to upper level protocols (like EIGRP, etc).
My question is that since the interface where I have CBWFQ configured on is at 100 Mbps, but my circuit is at 50Mbps, how can I get my routers to kick CBWFQ in when traffic demand exceeds 50Mbps+? Does the bandwidth command on the interface control that as well?

There is some way to increase the speed of changing the interface state from DOWN to UP when the cable is connected. I need to configure a port of Cisco 4503 in a way that when a cable is connected the port goes immediatly UP.
A solution can be to keep Cisco interface always UP and I remember that with "no keepalive" command to the interface configuration it was possible. But I tried and nothing happens.

Is there a keyword that we use under the interface to specify that it is purely management?
We need to assure that the subnet and any node on that subnet is not shared with the default routing table.
how do we set the gateway for the management interface if the node we are sourcing the ssh session from is on a different private subnet?

The only option that I have under the IOS that's installed on a 2900 series router is track. I don't have a version that supports SLA. The interface is connected to a switch that the ISP gave, and all of the tests that I've done refuse to make the circuit go down. If I were to lose the circuit, the interface won't show to be down unless the switch were to go down.
Is there any way with track to see that the provider's circuit went down on a switch? I was going to set up sla to ping the ISP's address, but I can't do that unless I upgrade the OS. These are a pair of routers running hsrp at a remote datacenter. Is sla the only way that I'm going to be able to accomplish this? I have tried track with different options in gns and all of them keep the CE's interface up and doesn't show it down. Watching a route in the table isn't feasible because I wouldn't want it to fail over because another site is having problems. Tracking the route doesn't work for connected routes either because the route itself doesn't leave the table as long as the interface is up.

It is a single router with dual ISPs. It is a 2800 and there is failover configured. I have implemented object tracking and the feature works great except that lately, whenever there is a lot of traffic coming perhaps from the internal users, we start getting intermittent outages.
I have gone deep into looking into this problem and have determined that our ISP#1 does not have any problems. What I think is happening is that whenever the router receives a lot of packets (30-40 users on the internal network) destined to the outside, the router CPU maybe gets too busy and the router then believes that the objects are no longer reachable and it triggers a failover which causes the router to re-direct traffic to the ISP#2. Then, because these are just quick burst of traffic, in the next 30 to 45 seconds after the router re-directed the traffic to ISP#2, the router object tracking engine detects that the objects are now again reachable and this then causes the router to re-direct all traffic back to ISP#1.
This cycle then continues all day on how to prevent this.
Is there a way to perhaps tell the router to completely shut down the interface facing ISP#1 whenever there is a hicup and to keep it shutdown for at least 8 hours? This way I can prevent the router from going crazy.
Or is there a way to perhaps prevent this at the internal (LAN) interface? Are there some metrics like QoS that I can implement on the internal Fast Ethernet Interface to prevent the burst of traffic from eating up the CPU?

I installed two AIR-AP1142N-E-K9 access points, running a fairly simple config, WPA2 PSK, with AES cipher, both the same SSID.The two access points are connected to Cisco 2960G switches, which are in turn connected to each other, again without any fancy config options, no VLAN's ed.
After a random while, varying from 30 minutes to 15 hours, the access points will stop sending/recieving traffic on the ethernet interface. The units don't stop at the same moment, this also varies seemingly random. It's not related to load or the amount of clients (1 to 15).Only turning on one unit doesn't make any difference.
The units keep sending out their SSID, you can associate to them, but the DHCP requests aren't passed on to the DHCP server which is connected to one of the 2960G's.If you wirelessly connect to the AP and set a manual IP adress you can reach the webinterface and telnet/ssh to the access point. The ethernet link is reported as being up on the access point. Also the switch reports a link on the port to which the access point is connected.Resetting the link does have no effect. The log doesn't mention any errors or warnings.Power cycling or reloading the access point will put it back in working order for a varying amount of time.

Using a small network (WAN) with three 1921 routers (IOS 15.1(T)) connected via E1 links. One host (industrial PC - core 2 due running Win XP Pro) connected to each router. The spare Gigabit Ethernet port on each router is bridged with the active one (so a portable management PC (laptop) can be plugged in there and communicate with the router and the industriual PC.
Multicast routing strategy between the routers is as per "Anycast - Static RP", with PIM sparse-mode enabled on all interfaces and sink RP defined on all three routers.
Problem occurs when a (IPV4) multicast application on one PC communicates with the others:
(a) IGMP V2 membersip reports etc. work correctly at the sender and at the other two PCs receiving the multicast stream
(b) Multicast routing on the WAN is working correctly; running Wireshark on the receiving PCs shows that multicast data is received on the expected group.
(c) But, there is an error in the Ethernet packets
i. The first packet's Ethernet header contains the correct destination MAC address 01:00:5E:aa:bb:cc where aa:bb:cc match with the last three octets of the mulicast group's address, and that packet is received OK by the listening multicast application
ii. However, subsequent packets' Ethernet headers have the wrong MAC address 01:00:5E:00:00:00 (the last three octets are all zeroes and these packets are discarded by Windows on the receiving PC and not seen by the multicast application.
Problem is related to the presence of integrated routing & bridging; if I delete the bridge virtual interface, disable bridging and give the two Gigabit Ethernet ports their own IP addresses, the multicast reception works correctly; all received multicast packets have te expected value on the destination MAC address (matching the group address)I have used the same integrated routing/bridging configuration successfully on Cisco 2611 and 2811 routers and there was no such issue with the multicast packets.Have I overlooked some subtle aspect of configuration in the 1921 router or have I uncovered a bug...?
For reference - snippets from router configuration scripts
:
In the non-working configuration (with Integrated Routing & Bridging)
interface GigabitEthernet0/0
no ip address
duplex auto
speed auto
[code]....
In the working configuration all the bridging is gone and the two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces have a very plain & simple configuration in different subnets
interface GigabitEthernet0/0
ip address 192.168.212.1 255.255.255.128
no ip directed-broadcast
ip pim sparse-mode
duplex auto

Several 1130AG AP, auto IOS, are showing the same three errors;
1. 'Error' Interface BVI1 Changed to up
2. 'Error' Interface Fast Ethernet0 Changed to up
3. 'Error' Interface Dot11Radio0 Changed to up
ATTACHED image
Why these interfaces coming 'up' would be an 'error'? Seems almost like hardware failure/s. So we have been investigating on several 1130AGs bought from different places, with different configs and still get the errors. The APs appear to 'work' (i.e. basic config, wireless working, clients assoss., data flows to internet and back through APs) but the error causes the event log to show 'error' and for the status LED to turn 'yellow', instead of 'light green' (light green when working normally and no clients assos).
I have worked with many cisco APs and never ran across these two errors.
At first I thought it was a power issue, as the AP will boot up in low power if it doesnt think it's getting enough power, which could cause the IOS error possibly. But all of our APs are powered by wall plug cisco 48v OEM plugs, no POE injectors or switches. We even changed the settings in power of the IOS to 'pre-compatiable' POE and similar and still recieve the error and yellow LED status light. We looked into this power issue because we wanted to rule out if these was what was producing the errors that were reporting.
The second thing we did was setup the test APs with a very basic config, one ssid, no security, as to rule out a config error and also, no config will make the radios disabled, so without a basic config the APs cant be tested anyway (since the radios are now disabled from default). so we tested very basic configs and still getting the error and yellow LED (which all manuals say it should be light green normally working and no clients). all config changes brought wireless up and we can connect clients and data flows but still the errors stay and yellow LED once all clients disconnect. Note; when clients connect the yellow LED turns to light green, but thats not the colors the manual states they should be which is odd).
Third, a couple engineers suggested this error was from the AP scanning channels to choose the least congested (default config) and it will pick a channel but produce this error still and go yellow. We changed the configs to the least congested channels and it reboots and still gets these errors.
We have tried several IOS software packages, some newer, some older, all auto. though, no LAP.
We googled the errors but could only find ONE post with these errors. Some engineers said these errors are 'normal' and they have seen them before, but theres nothing on the web about the errors and we have owned 20-40 different cisco IOS APs and never seen this, and we have the same issues with 4 1130AGs, all in almost new condition, bought from different places.
Unless you have opened a 1130 many people dont know the status LED is actually 3 LEDs (one assembly with 3 micro LEDs, blue, green and red) that combine in color (the micro LEDs light up in different intensities causing many final color combintations), and the LEDs colors mix together via a plastic light guide on the top to show the status LED, and we believe the error is causing the status LED color to be off because the error is making the yellow light up and mix with the other colors causing all the other colors to be incorrect. we have researched trying to clear the error by 'clear logging' CLI command, hoping that may clear out the interface error and turn the yellow LED off because there would be no log of the error, but we have not succeded.

Here's my problem. I'm going to be using Cisco 1941 routers at a bunch of remote sites. All of these sites have 2 comm paths out. Some of them have 2 IP/VHF radios and some have 1 IP/VHF radio and a copper link using Patton ethernet extenders. From the VHF radios the data hit our MPLS network back to our HQ and the sites with copper go directly back to our HQ. Everything ends up at a Cisco 4948 switch. The problem I'm having is that I want the routers at the remote site to use one ethernet port (G0/0) as the primary and the other (G0/1) as the backup interface. I've tried the backup interface command but the problem is that depending on where an outage occurs the ethernet link to either the radio or Patton stays up so it never switches over. We're using OSPF as our routing protocol and I'm sure there's something that can be done with it but I'm not sure what.

In regards to QoS profiles on the WLC. We have two L3 3560's. One 3560 has an upstream MPLS router. The other 3560 has an upstream backup VPN router. Both of these 3560's are L3 switches with IP routing enabled. I created a PBR on both so that specific traffic routes through the MPLS router, while other traffic routes over the backup VPN router. I'm trying to apply the PBR to the SVI's, on each switch. However, when I do a "sh run", the PBR does not appear under either SVI. I've enabled the SDM Routing template, made sure that ip routing was enabled, and even verified that the IOS has the capability. Not sure what else to check for.
