Cisco WAN :: 7600 - Upgrade IOS From 12.2(18)SXF To 12.2(33)SRC?
Mar 6, 2011
I need to know if upgrading Cisco IOS on 7600 series router is possible. From 12.2(18)SXF --> 12.2(33)SRC, i need this because SRC supports Lawfull Intercept.
we have a problem with the ES+ card. After an IOS upgrade the card does not want to come online. The IOS version is 12.2(33)SRE4, it is the same problem with 12.2(33)SRE5.
I googled but could not much info. Only about %PM_SCP-SP-1-LCP_FW_ERR and the document said that the card should be inserted in an another slot, but it did not work. [code]
i have a query ,we are planning to upgrade the Sup Engine from WS-SUP720-3B 2 ports Supervisor Engine 720 to
RSP720-3CXL-GE=
Cisco 7600 Route Switch Processor 720Gbps fabric,PFC3CXL, GE
Can we use the same old IOS from Sup720 to the New RSP720 without purchasing it ?

The 7600 platform support x.25 and XOT features. In ios versión S764AEK9-15103SCisco 7600-RSP720 IOS ADVANCED ENTERPRISE SERVICES SSH The feature navigator display that support this features, but i'dont see these on the other newer ios version. If posible use 7600 for x.25 / xot or maybe will used de 3900 platform?
Why below simple PBR is not implemented in H/W knowing the Copp is not configured
NPE-1#sh ver | i image System image file is "bootdisk:c7600rsp72043-advipservices-mz.122-33.SRE0a" NPE-1#sh run int GigabitEthernet1/1 interface GigabitEthernet1/1 ip address 11.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 ip pim sparse-mode
I am trying to establish a BGP session between a Cisco 7600 and Juniper MX960, but this always stucks in OpenConfirm state.
access-4#show ip bgp v v VRF1 neighbors 166.63.168.197BGP neighbor is 166.63.168.197, vrf VRF1, remote AS 5555, local AS 65533, external link BGP version 4, remote router ID 195.2.1.21 BGP state = OpenConfirm Last read 00:02:27, last write 00:02:27, hold time is 180, keepalive interval is 60 seconds Message statistics: InQ depth is 0 OutQ depth is 0 Sent Rcvd Opens: 4 4 Notifications: 2 1 Updates: 0 0 Keepalives: 4
ICMP works fine. It is same on JUniper end. Sending keepalives but cannot receive

I am pretty far out of my comfort zone here but these VS-S720-10G-3C cards were purchased to upgrade our 7609/7606 routers, the spec sheet says they are compatable but I can't find an IOS that "likes" them. I had no problem finding an IOS and using the vss cards in our 6506...
I have a strange QoS problem with one Cisco7600 (sup7203BXL, IOS 12.2(33)SRE6).
This is layer 2 traffic, and all ports are L2 dot1q trunks:
1) Packet comes with DSCP 46 on Gigabit port (WS6728-SFP) with "mls qos trust dscp" configured. It goes out the port of the same card/slot with DSCP 0.
2) packet comes with DSCP 46 on different Gigabit port on the same card/slot with "mls qos trust dscp" and also "mls qos vlan-based" configured. It qoes out out the port with DSCP 46.
Why the switch behave differently if "mls qos vlan-based" is configured on port (or to say it works correct since it doesn't override DSCP)?
I have global command "mls qos rewrite ip dscp" since this 7600 is also MPLS PE router and I found in documentation that "mls qos rewite ip dscp" is mandatory for QoS on MPLS (EXP bits). So I can't turn off "rewrite ip dscp". Again the problem that I presents is L2 problem not MPLS (MPLS is used for different traffic).
Also mls qos mappings are ok COS to DSCp are 5 to 46 and vice versa.
Furthermore, as far as I know if I have configured "mls qos trust dscp" on Gigabit ethernet port, switch (7600) should work in this order:
- make internal DSCP from packet DSCP
- since I don't have configured DSCP mutation DSCP should stay the same (46)
- using map DSCP - COS ( 46 -5 ) switch will choose queue on outgoing interface in regards to mapped COS
I'm looking for iformation if CFM Local Maintenance End Point configured on Cisco 7606 router is able to respond to the Y.1731 Performance Monitoring (DMM/DMR ).I know I can use IP SLA to configure Y.1731 PM measurements, but I just need a reflector that will answer for incoming DMM messages with DMRs.
if the 7600-SIP-200 supported in VSS mode or not ?
I have configured to Cisco Catalyst 6513 as VSS, both of them have the 7600-SIP-200 module, before converting them to VSS I was able to work with the 7600-SIP-200 module, but after I did convert them to VSS, both modules didn't work.
here is the show module output, after VSS conversion:
VSS1#show module Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.--- ----- -------------------------------------- ------------------ ----------- 1 0 4-subslot SPA Interface Processor-200 7600-SIP-200 JAE14500GMT 7 5 Supervisor Engine 720 10GE

I would like more information of performance to 7600 router with the SP-720, how many sessions full bgp routing it supports? I have 4 links 1 GB and a throughput of 900 MB.
I have cisco 7600 core router in ISP , i want to put the bandwidth limit on it for outgoing traffic (for internet) on a subnet because i am using Bluecoat and i want to test my bluecoat. On this subnet i have no limit for bluecoat but after the bluecoat i want to limit it. On 7600 cisco router i have not rate limit command so how it can be possible for a perticular subnet ?
I have a 7606 running c7600rsp72043-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRD2.bin with SIP-400 card that has suddenly stopped working, on checking the logs i see the following:
%ONLINE-SP-6-TIMER: Module 3, Proc. 0. Failed to bring online because of timer event %C7600_PWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot 3 set off (Module Failed SCP dnld)
I have tried reseating and even moving it to a different slot but no luck.
%ONLINE-SP-6-TIMER: Module 4, Proc. 0. Failed to bring online because of timer event %C7600_PWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot 4 set off (Module Failed SCP dnld)
im having lms 4.2.2 and monitoring a cisco 7600 router interface ten gigabit ethernet x/x under dfm. When ever the interface is down due to any media issue i am not getting any alerts in dfm., the interface used to go down for more than 10 minutes. I am able to do an snmpwalk to this interface when the interface was down and getting the value as 2(for down). I am getting other information and configuration mode alerts in dfm for this device.
I posted also under Service Providers for my problem with MPLS/VPN. I just noticed I have the same issue with plain IPV4 BGP. [URL] I have two 7600 running on SRC3 and SRD6. Both acting as RRs.
I noticed that RR1 is reflecting the route to this other 7600 iBGP peer but not installing/importing the route. Other iBGP speakers are able to install and import the route. Is there any issue with 7600 SRC/SRD IOS for Route-reflection?
iBGP policy is similar to all but only the 7600 is unable to install the route. Other 7200 ibgp peers are successful.
I'm trying to find a single device that can both handle Q-in-Q VLAN trunk termination and also TDM cross connects between DS0's on a multi-channel T1 card and DS0's on a multi-channel DS-3 card. I'm looking at a Cisco 7606-S with SUP720's. If I install a 7600-SIP-200 or 7600-SIP-400 with both a SPA-2XCT3/DS0 (channelized T3 card) and a SPA-8XCHT1/E1 (channelized T1 card) will I be able to TDM cross connect the DS0's between the cards? Is there a limit on the number of TDM cross connects? Also, I noticed the CMM cards are EOL. Ideally we'd like to terminate PRI's into the 7606 and run H.323. We'd like to pass voice calls to CUCM and TDM switch FAX calls (via H.323 dial-peer) to a given CAS DS0 on the SPA-2XCT3/DS0. Is this doable with any of the current cards? If not, then we'll stick to the configuration in the first paragraph and only have the 7606 handle the TDM cross connects.
I am looking for the best QoS method for a 7600 series router. We have a 7604 edge router that has remote branch connections to it via GRE tunnels. unfortunately I cannot shape on these GRE tunnels neither can I use bandwidth or priority statements.
What are the limitations of Net flow v9 support on the 7600 platform for the SR code releases?
I know that Flexible Net flow is only available on newer releases with some newer hardware. Flexible Net flow gives you the ability to provide full support for Netflow v9 as well as IPFIX.
However, the documentation indicates that Net flow v9 is still supported in the SR code. So I am just trying to find out what are the limitations in how Net flow v9 is implemented without "Flexible Net flow". The Cisco TAC was unable to provide me any documentation about this.
I have Cisco 7609 router and we have observed that router is rebooted due to the following error ;SLOT 3: Apr 13 16:06:26.621: %CARDMGR-2-ESF_DEV_ERROR: An error has occurred on Egress ESF Engine: Control Store Parity Error SLOT 3: Apr 13,Slot -3 we have SIP-400 card. We would like to know if there is any MIB which can monitir such reboots.
We are having 7600 with POS interface to connect with an STM-4 link, we are planning to upgrade our link capacity to 1 Gig. Can we do so with our existing inventory or we need any other hardware(WIC)? [code]
I have a cisco 7600. It will send an icmp request every second. If the icmp response is not received, 3 consecutive icmp requests will be sent. SLA reachability down will be reported after all 4 icmp responses are not received. The following diagram illustrates my goal.
Sender --------------------------------------- 0 second -> 0 sec (1st icmp Request is sent out)-> 50ms (no response, send 2nd icmp after timeout)-> 50ms (no response, send 3rd icmp after timeout) -> 50ms (no response, send 4th icmp after timeout) 50ms Report SLA reachability down --------------------------------------- 1 second --------------------------------------- 2 second
Question: will the following configuration achieve my goal?
ip sla 100icmp-echo 10.32.24.1 source-ip 10.32.24.2timeout 50frequency 1
