Feb 7, 2011I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. I tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers I could find on the realtek download website and this has removed the problem of the exclamation mark with the wireless connection claiming it now has internet access. However the internet is now so slow (vastly slower than before these problems began) I get timed out errors whenever I try to access any web pages. I have ruled out the router being an issue as my two housemates' computers are working just fine.

May 6, 2013I have some 3750 switches in a network, where I need to transport a QinQ connection between them.
Switch A <-> Switch B <-> Switch C <-> Switch D.
Need the QinQ from switch A port 11 and to Switch D port 9. Between the switches interfaces are in standard 082.1Q trunk mode. What do I need to configure to make this happened? I need to make sure that the VLANs in and out of these interfaces do not conflict with the rest of the network, as some VLANs will overlap.

Jun 21, 2012I am planning to use a pair of Catalyst 3750 for QinQ over a L2 link (lan extension)
We neeed to have control over what vlans we propagate over this link and we want to avoid incuring costs for every aditional vlan we might need to add to the trunk that would connect to the QinQ provider switches
Our workaround for this would be to ask the provider to give us an end to end vlan that supports MTU-1504B (QinQ frame size) and connect our switches to this.

Jun 30, 2011I have recently purchased ASR1002-RP1-ESP5 with 2 x 4K Broadband licenses to be used as LNS. Cisco have sent me PAK files for the licenses however when I try to enter the licenses into the device I get an error message saying that Licensing is not supported on this platform.
Any experience with this platform and installation of the broadband licenses?
When I spoke to Cisco TAC they told me that for this particular model the licensing is on "trust" basis where you buy license and do not install it on the actual router - similar to what 7200 used to do.

Feb 27, 2011I've had a Linksys RV082 for years and years and years. I've been trying to replace the aging thing for a while (with something gigabit and supporting IPv6). Unfortunately, I've really not found anything that comes close to having the features of the old RV. I've looked at NetGear, D-Link, and Cisco/Linksys, but everything seems to fall short (or just have bad reviews). This little RV082 came packed with a lot of features for a lower to mid level gateway.

I am using this in India with local ISP Airtel and ZTE MF 880T LTE modem, which normally gives 4G connection when connected directly to the laptop.I have used the normal settings as guided by TP link and checked that dialing properties are all fine. When I am connecting through the MR3040, the blue light is visible in the modem but there is NO internet throughput, the internet icon in the router also remains OFF.

Oct 16, 2012I have a strange QoS problem with one Cisco7600 (sup7203BXL, IOS 12.2(33)SRE6).
This is layer 2 traffic,and all ports are L2 dot1q trunks:
1) Packet comes with DSCP 46 on Gigabit port (WS6728-SFP) with "mls qos trust dscp" configured. It goes out the port of the same card/slot with DSCP 0.
2) packet comes with DSCP 46 on different Gigabit port on the same card/slot with "mls qos trust dscp" and also "mls qos vlan-based" configured. It qoes out out the port with DSCP 46.
Why the switch behave differently if "mls qos vlan-based" is configured on port (or to say it works correct since it doesn't override DSCP)?
I have global command "mls qos rewrite ip dscp" since this 7600 is also MPLS PE router and I found in documentation that "mls qos rewite ip dscp" is mandatory for QoS on MPLS (EXP bits). So I can't turn off "rewrite ip dscp". Again the problem that I presents is L2 problem not MPLS (MPLS is used for different traffic).
Also mls qos mappings are ok COS to DSCp are 5 to 46 and vice versa.
Furthermore, as far as I know if I have configured "mls qos trust dscp" on Gigabit ethernet port, switch (7600) should work in this order:
- make internal DSCP from packet DSCP
- since I don't have configured DSCP mutation DSCP should stay the same (46)
- using map DSCP - COS ( 46 -5 ) switch will choose queue on outgoing interface in regards to mapped COS
