We are looking for buying a 20GE port 7600 ES+ Card. However, there are a few different models, we are not sure which one is the right one. We will be using this card for Metro Ethernet Termination, MPLS VPN, EoMPLS, QoS (Marking, CBWFQ), PPPoE, possibly VPLS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a port on 7600 connecting via Single Mode Fibre to my service provider. Service provider has 1000-Full with auto-negotiate. I am seeing following output on my 7600. [code] if this interface is only capable of doing 1000Mb, how come it is showing 100-Full. If I change to nonegotiate option (both my side and provider side), link goes down. My provider has confirmed they have 1000Full their side.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. I tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers I could find on the realtek download website and this has removed the problem of the exclamation mark with the wireless connection claiming it now has internet access. However the internet is now so slow (vastly slower than before these problems began) I get timed out errors whenever I try to access any web pages. I have ruled out the router being an issue as my two housemates' computers are working just fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEarlier my desktop was to b in d same place where the router was der. Everything worked fine. Now I decided to shift my desktop to another room. I have kept the router at the earlier place only. I have brought a 25m long new cat 5 cable. When I connected it to my desktop, the orange led on ethernet port do not light up and the desktop is unable to detect the ethernet cable and hence the internet connection. On the router, a light of ethernet keeps on blinking every 1 second. I was worried whether my ethernet port got fried. So i inserted another ethernet cable, but then the ethernet orange light came and the pc detedted the connection. Therefore I thought the cable might be faulty. Therefore I connected my laptop with that 25m cable. But my laptop detected it and showed the internet connection. But now when i again connect the cable to my desktop, there's no light and the pc does not detect it. However, if i connect the 25m cable to my desktop then during boot the ethernet light on router is stable just as when it is normally connected to the internet. But when i go into windows it starts blinking every 1 second.

My ISP has installed Ethernet/Internet service at my office (3Mbps up/3Mbps down). The provider calls it "3M EIA service". This comes with a block of 8 static IP addresses (/29 with 5 useable addresses). This replaces a DSL connection. My network has one Cisco/Tandberg Codec C20 video camera which requires a static public IP address. The internal network is DHCP (192.168.x.x).
My office never has more than 15 PCs accessing the Internet at a time.Already installed is a Cisco WS-C2950G-48-EI 48-Port Catalyst 2950 Series Switch. I also have available a Cisco 96-Port Catalyst 4000 Series (Model: WS-C4003 Series) hand-me-down that I can install if the 2950 won't work. I've been told that both will work.I also have available to me a Cisco 1841 router (also a hand-me-down) with a T1 module which I can replace with an appropriate module. However, I've been told that any Cisco 1800 series router won't work. The 1900 series will (too expensive for me).
I have never had to connect, configure or otherwise deal with such a circuit. This may be much simplier than I am trying to make of it. Would a Cisco Small Business RVS4000 Gigabit Security Router with VPN 1 x RJ45 WAN Ports 4 x 10/100/1000Mbps LAN Ports suffice? If so, would setting up VLANs be recommended?
I switched from DSL to cable about a week ago, I have two desktops connected via ethernet cable to the modem. One works fine, the second stays connected for 5 seconds, disconnected for 5 seconds, connected, again, etc until the system is on for 45 minutes or so and then it stays connected. I feel like it is probably a setting and that the system is trying to detect something during that time. Problem is I have no idea where to start and Comcast is totally useless. I have already replaced the cable because that's what they said the issue was, it wasn't.

Whenever I go to Network and Sharing Center and try connecting to the internet, the computer simply says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware", even though the light is clearly on and should be working. The cable is also new so it should be fine. I've also been looking around on the internet a bit, and in trying to fix the problem it looks like some of my Services are turned off, which seems to be causing the problem. However, whenever I try and turn them on, I get an error message saying "The dependency service or group failed to start".

I recently acquired a new mobo to tide me over until I can get the spare money to order a new one (which probably won't be until after the first of the year) however, the board, while better than what I had, has some problems hence why I got it so "cheaply". The problems I had with it have been fixable/liveable with. Anyways, here's a description of my problem and some brief applicable system specs.
The ethernet port on this board was bad, knew that from purchase date. However I ordered a brand new card (10/100MB NIC PCI Ethernet Card), installed it, and the drivers all loaded, and the card is listed as working properly. I have no internet connection or network connection even listed. The way my system runs is as follows.
Computer/Ethernet Card -> Cat5 -> ASUS Router -> Cat6 -> ISP Router -> Outside
I have tried hard lining it direct from the ISP Router as well to no avail.I've even tried using the ipconfig.exe commands. Including /release, /flushdns, /renew. But, whenever I open the DOS panel with the command it just disappears in a millisecond.I know the PCI port on the board isn't bad because I literally just removed my USB expansion card from it to install this one. I even tried switching it with the other 2 PCI cards I have installed and they all work perfectly so it's not the PCI slot.
Is there a PCI Express 2.0 Gigabit ethernet card [NIC] which i can install in this motherboard where usually one installs NVIDIA graphic cards?

I had a question regarding the Cisco 2811. I tried fitting an NM 2FE-2W card and the fast Ethernet interfaces of the module never get recognized. Is there a special command to enable it or isn't the module supported at all by the router. If not , is there a way to have the router possess more than the 2 Fast Ethernet interfaces it already has? I've been having some problems with my Ethernet connection lately.The problem started early last week. I'm currently relocating, so I unplugged my laptop from the Ethernet connection I had at my old place.At two different locales, I have tried to use an Ethernet connection in order to get better speed (the wireless at the first locale was non-existent and at the second it is extremely slow in my room). I have done so with two separate cables that I have tested on others' computers and found that they are perfectly fine. That, of course, leads me to believe that it is my computer and is either a hardware or software problem (here's hoping it's the latter).Anyway, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 (purchased in 2006). About a year ago, I updated to Windows 7 from the pre-installed Vista. Never had any problems (as I said, everything was fine up until about a week ago). The installed card is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Everything under Device Manager indicates that the hardware is working properly and has all of its drivers installed, but nothing is working.I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers (albeit by allowing windows to find them automatically), but the result is the exact same.I have checked the port and found that there is no debris or obstructions. My computer hasn't been dropped or mishandled in any way.
