I have the Linksys E3000 High Performance Wireless N-Router and I am having trouble connecting it to my PS3. The PS3 recoginizes the router and gets as far as trying to connect and then it tells me that the internet connection has failed and that the connection has timed out, even though it only tries to connect for a couple of seconds, therefore I dont see how it would have time to time out.
View 2 RepliesI want to setup a hardwired connection between my Linksys E3000 router and a DIRECTV DVR. I have the most recent firmware on my router. I have checked the ethernet cable and it is good. The lights on the ethernet port on the DVR light up when I have the DRV and router connecter. The DVR gives me an error message when I try to connect. Some other posts have suggest setting a static IP on the DIRECTV DVR using the following settings:
IP Address : 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DNS : 192.168.1.1
I tried this and still get an error message so I am going to call DIRECTV. Before I do call I would like to know if these are the correct settings for a Static IP?
I had a little one port wireless switch that I just upgraded to the SE2500. The problem is my home audio reciever and squeezebox aren't connecting to my network now that I upgraded. The E3000 isn't seeing the SE2500 at all, nor is it seeing the devices connected to it. Everything else that's wirelessly connecting to the E3000 is connecting just fine (Tablet, Laptop, Desktop, etc.) but anything connected via wired to the SE2500 is not showing up whatsoever.

View 4 Replies View Related I have 3 computers in total: 2 desktops and 1 laptop.
1. My primary PC is connected physically to my router.
2. My (downstairs) laptop is connected to the wireless.
3. My other PC connects to the wireless network via USB wireless adapter.
I was having issues getting #3 connected to the wireless network. I used the Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ PIN number provided to me by the Linksys Wireless Manager to no avail. The E3000 router and #3 could never find each other.After calling support, it turns out that more often than not, "other" wirless management software (in my case Linksys Wireless Manager that came with the USB device) was interfering with my Windows XP Wireless Manager.Rule of thumb: Always let your native operating system manage the wirless networks that are available to it. It does a far better job and is 10x more reliable than software provided by 3rd party vendors.Specific to my case: Windows XP, I had to enable the Windows Wireless Manager and uninstall the Linksys Wireless Manager Software. Here it is...Enabling Windows Wireless Manager These directions are for Windows XP:
1) From the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel.
2) Click Network and Internet Connections.
3) Click Network Connections.
4) Right-click the icon for your "wireless network connection", then click Properties.
5) At the top of the window, click the Wireless Networks tab.
If the "Wireless Networks" tab does not appear between the "General" and "Advanced" tabs, you are not on/in the wireless network connection settings:a) click cancelb) Right-click the icon for your wireless connection and choose "Enable". c) return to step 4 6) Check the checkbox next to "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".

I get a great wired connection but when I try for wireless the Samsung says I have a great connection, except when I try to use the Apps from the Blu Ray it tells me, No Internect Conncetion. Samusung support tells me I need to "open the ports" on my E3000 and make the Blu Ray a priority...I don't know how to do that.

I have a Linksys voip box coming off it for my phones. I installed the disk that came with the router, followed the directions, and got a message that Internet could not be found. Went to the live chat and followed some advice that did not work, conflict with voip? bypassed the voip and ran a cable from the wireless modem to my E3000.

It appears as though the two notebooks sometime are going through this device to access the Linksys E3000. (I've checked when both notebooks are on and I can determine what devices are connecting directly to the router and what devices are going through this unknown device.) I recently bought a Cisco e3000 router. I updated the firmware but I am still only getting 1.33 Mbps at most. The only things plugged into it is my PC and my xbox. I bought the router so i could get a better connection on my xbox so netflix wont stop playback.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI recently purchases new E3000. I setup the E3000 with static IP from border router rather DCHP which seemed to default to the same IP address and DNS. The laptops tied to the E3000 have their own IP's that are different from the IP of the border router. E3000 is configured with no firewall an minimal protection, for now. The reason for minimal protection was to get the handshaking to work between the two routers. The border router is a Verizon product. The old router that I was using is a Netgear that did handshake with the border router. I have the latest firmware for the E3000 namely Firmware version: 1.0.04 build 6. Router will not handshake either with wired or wireless connections. Laptop used to connect to the E3000 is running Windows 7 Ultimate. In fact all laptops here are using the same OS and connect using wireless. I tried the included software package from the website, which housed a diagnostic that apparently couldn't fix the problem as well. I don't have clue as to the reason for E3000 not to handshake with the border router.

I can get an address on the computer and an old router by directly connecting the cable to the computer or the router. I can also daisy-chain the e3000 to the old router, and I can get an address on the e3000 from the old router. I have hard reset the e3000, changed firmware from the Linksys to TomatoUSB and back to Linksys, and I still can't get it to work. It worked fine on Saturday until a bolt of lightning hit close to the house. Since then, I cannot get the e3000 to connect to the ISP.

And it's not just the internet, I have a media server connected to it, and usually when I put something on it, the transfer rate is about 3.5MB/s (not bits, bytes). But everything is slow, I top out at speed of maybe 1/6 normal on the internet as well.

I used the e3000 router when we lived in town with broadband internet and it worked fine. I can't get it to keep a hold of a signal. I can connect to the router from the computers but the router drops the signal from the tower. I have an old router that the wireless company was kind enough to lend me that works , but the signal is weak and it could die at any moment... I"m at my wits end.. View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tested QoS on the new E3000? Whenever I add an application (e.g. Voice Device) and set priority to Medium or High, my upstream bandwidth for everything else is immediately cut significantly, even when I'm not using the priority application.
For example, with QoS disabled, I can consistently get 10Mb upstream (speedtest.comcast.net). As soon as I enable QoS, upstream is capped to exactly 2Mb! On my old router, there was an option to set the total upstream bandwidth -- but on the E3000 there is no such option that I can find.
just bought an e3000 and want to use it with wireless internet- usb modem. when setting up it wouldnt go any further than the 'searching for connection' page as it couldnt detect a connection in the 'internet' lan (wan?) port.can i set it up to accept the wireless usb modem?
