Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Internet Connection Is Frontier Modem / Router
Dec 12, 2011
My main Internet connection is a frontier modem /router It is on the main level of the house. In the basement I am trying to set up the cisco E3000 through an Ethernet cable.
I am trying to set up my E1200 router to Frontier FIOS internet. I went thru the setup and it failed to connect to the internet. What settings do I need? Frontier says that it should find the connection automatically.
I just bought a new E3000 router less than 2 weeks ago. I spent hours with my tech guy setting up the router so that I was getting excellent internet speed and the connection between my computer and my nas was maximized. In the process of setting up the router my laptop (Windows 7) and the basement laptop (Vista) were set up to access the router. Both work perfectly. These are now the only two devices in the house that can get internet access. The other devices that should connect are:
I can't get them to connect. I spent an hour with a guy at Cisco tonight who just couldn't seem to get past the idea that it was not the laptop that was the problem.
i have an e3000 linksys cisco router. i havent had any problems before until i tried adding a new computer via cat5e ethernet cable. The first computer always is connected fine whether i unplug the router or modem in any order and replug. i dont know much how to fix this. ive tried some unplugging method once but it only worked until i turned the computer off and back on later. i am also running 2 xboxs with no trouble. i used cisco connect to diagnose problem but it just told me to unplug modem power and tv cable and i did that with no luck.although i have good equipment, the internet is pretty slow.i have the best service of my provider that states it has upto 50 mpbs download speed.i ran the cisco internet speed test and only got a max of 20 download and 5 upload.how could i speed this up?
Upgraded my E3000 from 1.0.02 to 1.0.04 and now I cant get an ip from my arris modem. I did the 30/30/30 reset and everything but no luck. I've had to plug the modem directly into the computer for now. Where can I find the 1.0.02 download or how can I fix this?
My E3000 looses connection whenever any other computer connects whether it is a wired or wireless computer, IPAD, Mac, or anything else we have. It goes on and off any time two have connected and when it works it is very slow once another machine connects. Eventually it makes my network completely shut down.
I bought the E3000 last year and have no problems until recently. My room is about 25-30 feet away from my router and I've been getting a low wifi connection in the last month. I get an average connection on my laptop and a very low connection on my Xbox, both of which are in my room. My question is, what could I do to increase the reception in my room? Could I do anything to my router? Is it overheating(I don't think it is)?
I got burned after purchasing a 3TB WD 3.0 USB hard drive that I can not use on my current E3000 or the their latest E4200. At least support knew that answer fairly fast. My bad for not taking the time to think I would have to search this website to find the short list of external USB drives that will work with the E3000.All I wanted to do was store my media files on a shared network drive. I am cheating the system now and using a shared drive on the main PC. The whole point of my project is not to have the main PC running to share media. So before I go scrap this 60 day old router, using WDs My Life 2TB ETHERNET connection external HD? Does actually have one of these drives installed on a E3000 using win xp pro? I did search high and low here, but could not find a list of acceptable external Ethernet drives or size limitations.Burnt once, lesson learned, will not get burnt again.
My VPN connection is dropping every few minutes for a few seconds at a time over VPN on the E3000. It wreaks havoc with the applications that require a constant connection.
When connecting wirelessly (5GHz) to the E3000 after a day or so the wireless connection starts loosing speed. I have Comcast and usually get 20-30 MB download connections. After a day or so I start to lose speed (down to 5MB) until I reboot the E3000. Then I resume 20-30MB download connections. My wired connections appear fine and don’t experience the slow down. I'm doing my speed test with [URL]
The wireless slow down seems similar to the old memory leak condition of old Windows OS’s. Called Cisco and they don’t have an idea. They had me change a few settings (channel info) but I’m pretty technical and don’t feel that will fix it.
I recently purchased a Linksys e3000 router. Everything is going great except that both my desktop (Windows 7 Machine) and Laptop (Macbook Pro) keep losing the connection to a DLINK 323 Nas drive I have plugged into the router. This is problematic because I keep my itunes library on the NAS drive.

I want to share PC internet (PPPOE connection) on my linksys wireless router (E3000)Problem : When i directly connect internet wire in router, pppoe connection frequently gets disconnected. So what i wanted was to share my pc internet on router.I have two lan card on windows 7 installed PC, 1st lan card is connected to internet cable and i can access internet on pc, second lancard is connected to wireless router. So basically what i want is to share pc internet ( PPPOE ) on wireless router through DHCP connection type.
Work connection will load database about a third of the way then crash laptop. I can change out the router from the new Cisco e3000 to an old wireless router and it works fine.
I have installed the LinkSys E3000 Router, but I am still struggling because the device Gigaset Siemens C410 (that is the VoIP base) does not work. Before the E3000 I had an WRT160Nv2, with this router the Voip Devise works properly. If I link the WRT160Nv2 to the E3000 and the VoIp device to the WRT160Nv2 it works.
just bought an e3000 and want to use it with wireless internet- usb modem. when setting up it wouldnt go any further than the 'searching for connection' page as it couldnt detect a connection in the 'internet' lan (wan?) port.can i set it up to accept the wireless usb modem?
shows connection to cable modem, shows IP lease, able to renew and release lease. shows all DCHP clients, but does not allow internet to get through. tried cloning old routers MAC, no dice.
The Internet LED does not light up when I have access to the Internet like now. I think I remember this lighting up in the past and find it strange that an LED light would burn out so early
I just purchased an E3000 to replace my WRT54G.I set up the E3000 through a wired connection from my Comcast modem to my desktop (running Windows 7).Through Cisco Connect, I was unable to connect to the internet. The desktop connects to the E3000 but the E3000 does not connect to the modem. I've tried to reset the E3000 and power down both the E3000 and the modem yet I still cannot connect.I swapped my WRT54G back into place and my connection is fine while I figure this out.
I have been running some test to see what I can do for speed to the interenet and NAS drive.I have a NIC card (1394) and the max connection I get is 400 Mbps. The card is suppose to be 10/100/1000 card and E3000 is the same... so why can't I connect at 1000?Max transfer I get to my NAS is 64-80 Mbps. Is there any way I can get this to be faster? I have a 1TB western digital drive attached. If I went with a NAS system like a Synology BYOD system could I get faster speeds for transfers if the NIC on the system was a 10/100/1000?`
i was having issues with one of my devices after a power outage. all my other devices worked (laptops, xbox, iphones, etc)i thought doing a reset on the router would get the odd device working again but all it did was mess up my internet. i don't have the key or cd any longer from when i set it up.
I have a cable modem with an E3000 router, wired to my desktop. Internet connection is fine for my desktop, wired to Xbox, wifi for Iphone, Ipod, but no connectivity to my laptop wirelessly. I have run the repair automatically on my laptop (Windows 7) and get 2 different messages when trying over and over to use this tool. 1. Network Configuration Problem 2. Problem with wireless adapter or access point. I get a "fail" when trying this:
1. If your client device has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ button, click or press that button and then click the button on the right. or when putting in the router's pin number.
I just got optical fiber installed in my place which gives me great download speeds. Now my ISP has a monthly download limit of 120GB, after that I gotta pay overages. Now my setup is like this: Fiber modem (1 port) -> Linksys E3000 router (4 ports + wifi). All my gear is hooked up to the Linksys router (xbox, ps3, media center, office pc & 2 laptops).I would like to keep track of the total "internet" bandwidth use of all devices, but exclude the normal network traffic, as that of course I don't pay for.Is there something that I can install on the Linksys router that can keep track of that kinda of information? router (4 ports + wifi).
I have a E3000 router and I want to slow the upload and download speed to my Xbox is there any way to do this thru the router settings. I have internet that is about 20-30mbps down and 2-3mbps up I want to slow it to about 5-6mbps down and 1-2 mbps up.
I came home yesterday and my Internet was really slow. I later found out that it was due to my Linksys E3000 because if I bypass my E3000 and go directly to my cable modem, it work just fine.I tried reconfigure, update firmware, factory reset and none of these has worked.
Internet policy access on my Linksys E3000. I am trying to block facebook.com to a particular ip address in my office. This what I did. Logged in to control panel clicked on access restriction. Clicked on add. Gave it a name. Clicked the applies to drop down box and selected by ip address. Unchecked the block all internet access. Typed facebook down in the window below. Saved. Not blocking access.
I had a W120N wireless router which received all internet radio stations with no problemsI have just acquired an E3000 and it appears to not pass through 2 particular internet stations that worked fine on the 120N What configuration parameters affect internet radio?Currently, I'm using all the same parameters from the 120N where possible.
I can now access my router config pages when connected to my ATT router. However, I cannot seem to access the Internet when connected to my e3000; I just time out. I also have difficulties just connecting to my e300 for some reason. I have been connected a couple of times where i could access the Internet but it was only for a few minutes and it was very slow.I can't seem to put the router in the DMZ because the ATT router will only DMZ a DHCP-enabled device and the e3000 has a static IP (192.168.1.253). I have tried running the PING and Traceroute diagnostics and both just come back with Unknown Host no matter what URL i enter. The status page also appears as if the e3000 is not properly talking to the ATT router. Under the Internet Connection area it shows Connection Type: Automatic Configuration - DHCP then 0s for IP address, subnet, and gateway. the DNS entries are empty and the MTU shows 1500 and the DHCP Lease Time is also empty. i am all ears and willing to try whatever. But i just want to be able to connect to my e3000 so i can utilize the wireless n internally and connect a 2TB external drive to share. But I also want to be able to get out to the Internet when i am connected to the device.
I purchased a refurbed? router on the internet, not supported any longer by Cisco Chat. I have a wireless internet: WiMax thru Clear wireless. I have a Linksys voip box coming off it for my phones. I installed the disk that came with the router, followed the directions, and got a message that Internet could not be found. Went to the live chat and followed some advice that did not work, conflict with voip? bypassed the voip and ran a cable from the wireless modem to my E3000.
I have had numerous issues with my E3000 since I got about two months ago and they have all been resolved with the exception of this new one that popped up today.
My Samsung Blu-ray player is connected firectly via ethernet cable to the router. When it's on, I lose all conenctivity to the router with my wireless devices including three PC's, a PS3, two iPhones, one iPad, one Samsung Smart TV, one XBOX 360 and an Onkyo Receiver. When I say that I lose connectivity, I don't mean that I lose access to the Internet. My PC's see the network but cannot connect to it, the same goes for the Apple devices. The moment I shut off the Samsung BD player it kicks right back on and works normally. Until today, this never occurred.
I contacted Tech Support and they had never heard of this happening before. They suggested that I change the ethernet cable which I did while the unit was on and it worked until I turned the BD player off and turned it back on again. I also tried switching ports to no avail. Alos all of the software is up to date on both the router and the BD player.
My Cisco E3000 has slowed it's Ethernet speed so slow that it times out when going to Facebook, YouTube or any site that is complex. It worked fine until one day it just gave up. It's connected to DSL Modem with Ethernet To a Apple Mac G5 power PC There are two other older macs connected via Ethernet, same problem. When I took the router out of the chain, and connected G5 directly to modem, normal internet speed. My firmware is up to date. Both wireless bands work great. When I look at Cisco Connect, everything looks normal. factory settings.
Woke up this morning to the friendly 'No Internet access' message in the system tray. Thought it was the laptop but it wound up being the router (I guess).I can connect directly to internet via the cable modem (Comcast) but can't get a connection through the router. There are no IP addresses listed on the router admin page.Renew IP doesn't work.Everything was ok last night. I've had the router for a year or so and except for having to reset it every week or 2 for WiFi connection issues,it's worked pretty well.I soft-reset the router but then couldn't connect to 192.168.1.1.Hard-reset and still can't connect to 192.168.1.1.I do see connection lights. Just can't get to it.
My E3000 has been working fine with 1.0.04 build 6 FW. Recently some devices (kindle, iPad) can't connect to internet while connected to E3000 via WiFi network. Had a look my E3000 router IP is 192.168.0.1 but those problematic devices has IP 192.168.1.XXX allocated by DHCP not sure why. Currently I manually set up static IP 192.168.0.XXX for those devices.
