I am trying to set up my E1200 router to Frontier FIOS internet. I went thru the setup and it failed to connect to the internet. What settings do I need? Frontier says that it should find the connection automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the Linksys E1200 for it's wireless N and the guest account. set up my new Linksys E1200 router to use for wireless N access rather that my Verizon Fios provided Actiontec (model M4124-WR Rev.C) which is only wireless G, and so that I can use the guest account. I have an ethernet cable running from one of the 4 ethernet ports on the E1200 to one of the 4 LAN ports on the Actiontec. I have the wireless turned off on the Actiontec, and have the E1200 set as 192.168.1.200.My wireless N signal seems to be working fine from the E1200, and I was able to turn on the guest account on the E1200 and "connect" to it on my iPhone 4, but then when I open Safari I can not connect to the internet.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI moved from an apartment where they had run ethernet to a jack for me to plug it into my own router, it was nice. My new apartment the installer came over when i wasn't there (my gf was there) and he installed a coax jack next to my router and supplied a huge frontier box (wireless router/modem). And then connected it to my router.
After much configuration I finally got it to run good on my router, and I started wondering if I'm going to get the same latency and speeds as it was on ethernet straight from the box. I'm paying for a 30/10 connection. I'm sure the coax is enough, but it's the cheap Frontier box and coax connection together that I wonder about.
My ultimate question is, I have an old motorola DOCSIS 3.0 Surfboard modem (when I had Comcast) that I have laying around, will it work with it? I assume it will be better. I really dont need all the junk that this huge Frontier box has. I just want a good connection.BTW my router is a DIR-655.
I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my Linksys v1 router from 1.0.02 to 1.0.03 over a remote 56Kb circuit. I appear to be having a timeout problem. The upgrade always fails. I have upgraded several E1200s in my office over ethernet, and the upgrade appears to finish when the progress bar is at 15%. However, on my remote upgrade, the progress bar gets to 98%, hangs for a few more seconds, and then pops up a window with "Upgrade failed".
I suspect that there is a timeout on the upgrade process, and that I can't upload the 3.8 MB firmware file fast enough. If so, is there any way to increase the upgrade timeout?
I have configured port range forwarding (8440 - 8449) for a single PC (192.168.1.134) and am unable to access these ports from outside my LAN. Conversely, if I set up single port forwarding for each of the ports in the range for the same computer then I am able to access from outside my LAN. Does port range forwarding actually work?

Did exactly as instructed.'Modem, connected to a PC directly give internet no problem.Modem, connected to the router, and router connected to PC - no internet.And... It's all wired at this moment, all connected with network cable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLinksys E1200. I cannot connect to the Internet through my primary connection, but I can still connect through the guest connection. I think I know what happened, but I don’t know how to fix it. A connect / disconnect key on my keyboard is located right next to the mute sound key. I wanted to mute my sound, and when it didn’t mute I pressed the key a couple more times before I realized I was pressing the wrong key. So I’m guessing I probably messed up some settings. But I don’t know if on the computer, router, or both. Per the documentation I thought I might be able to fix it with Cisco Connect, but it wasn’t installed on my computer. There were only 3 Cisco modules installed.. EAP-FAST module, LEAP module, and PEAP module. I managed to find Cisco Connect on the website and downloaded it, but still couldn’t fix the problem.

-Initially I couldn't connect at all with this machine (however the other two newer laptops could) so I contacted the Linksys tech and he advised I should upgrade my laptop driver
-After much research about this I found a common fix was to upgraded drivers from the 2004 sony driver to atheros_wifi_9.2.0.480 drivers.
-After I did the upgrade I can connect to the router on the guest account and use the internet

I basically plugged it into my Verizon Fios router and downloaded the Cisco Connect application (since I have a macbook air which has no CD drive)
It sets up fine, I change my router name.... BUT at the end it says there is an issue of some sort. The Cisco Connect application reloads saying "repairing connection" but then does not repair it.
Not sure where to go from here. I also logged in to 192.168.1.1 but of course I do not know where to go from here. I also reset the router trying to start from new, but no dice.
I have a Cisco E1200, I am wanting it to connect to the net using Etisalat ISP. The computer will talk to the router and all the settings look correct but it will not connect to the internet.The router did a software upgrade that it deemed successful.

I've tried the following HOWTO's to no avail.[URL]
I connected EA6500 internet port to actiontec router provided by Verizon fios. I don't have any other way to connect as FIOS connection is coax to actiontec modem. I must take a drop from actiontec to internet port on EA6500.
With that said, I can't get EA6500 to work, it keeps saying no internet. The only way I can get it to work is when I set it to bridge mode. This makes my EA6500 a dumb switch/access point. I didn't spend $200 for a switch. I need to use advanced features offered by this router but I can't until this problem is fixed. I made sure I am running latest version of firmware (1.1.28.146856).
I have reset my fios router as well as ea6500 to factory defaults multiple times.
I have a Linksys E1200 wireless router and I am having problems connecting to the internet. I can connect when plugged in to the cable modem directly. I can connect to the wireless network, but there is no internet connection. I ran ipconfig release and renew. I think it may be a DNS problem, but I'm not sure.

I have successfully connected the wireless to my laptop and have a guest network that has been tested and works as well. I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. CANNOT establish an internet connection?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI replaced my broken modem with a new Motorola 3360 as recommended by my ISP. The new modem works fine connected directly to my PC. When connecting the modem to the Cisco E1200 router, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says I'm not connected to the PC. I've triple checked the wired connections from the modem to the router and then to the PC. I've swapped out cables and verified that they all work when used directly from the modem to the PC. I'm thinking some settings from the old Westell modem are messing with the connectivity of the new E1200 router.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn one area of the home is a century link pk 5000 modem that connect to the internet. In another area of the home is the computer that has an e1200. Is it possible to connect the computer to the internet, wirelessly, from the e1200 to the pk5000? How is this accomplished?
I know the settings for the pk5000 and would "input" them into the e1200 if I friggen knew where to do this.
We have just installed the E1200 wireless router. We are able to access the internet from our home computers, however we cannot get the IPAD connected. When we try to find our wireless network to connect to it doesn't display yet our we can still see our neighbors wireless networks.

I decided to use the guest network after one of my sons friends was sitting outside one morning using my network. I told the friend the pw for the guest and changed the pw for my network and created an key on a thumb drive. Now I cannot connect my iphone. When I try to use guest is seems to work ok, but I want to use my network. I chose my network on my iphone and it simply says unable to connect. That is the only info/choice I am given.

So far I have had no luck at all getting it to work. Setup fails to even connect at all. I spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support. There were in trying to get it up and running but we have been unable to get a TCP/IP number from my provider (comcast). I hooked up the old router to see if any of my settings looked unusual but they seemed normal.

- 1) Media Streaming Server
- 2) NAS supporting modern USB devices, which register with multiple personalities/devices in one physical USB device.
1) Is already known by Cisco and hopefully the choose to fix it properly
2) Must be known now. Multiple users are reporting this lack of support.
NAS functionality of E4200 does not work/ gives problems with:
- Toshiba StorE Alu 2S USB 3.0, 1 TB disk. PN: PA4239E-1HJ0
- Iomega eGo 1 TB USB 3.0, (black casing) , PN 31924500, RPHD-UG3
Both drives report themself with 2 devices under Windows 7: 1x USB storage decive + 1x CD readonly device?
I got E4200 with latest firmware (updated two days ago) and WD Studion with 2 Tb drive (it is HFS+ file system)Once I connect this drive to router I am not longer available to access 192.168.1.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two E1200 routers, one of which I purchased last night. My table and netbook are only connecting wirelessly at 65Mbps max. These same devices connect to a WRT120N router at 150Mbps though.
I have the settings on the E1200 the same as the WRT120N.
So why is the the E1200 only connecting at 65Mbps then? Changing channels and MTU and beacons has no positive effect.
Trying to set up E1200. I have a DSL connection, no Ethernet connection. I do have internet access. Cannot figure out how to connect.

I've successfully added another computer to the network but the router setup seems to want the iPad to connect only as a Guest .Is there a way to treat my iPad as another computer (not as Guest) so that it my network recognizes it in the same way it recognizes the second computer (without entering a password)?

They are connected to a wired router (BEFSR81) to allow a wireless network to work in conjunction with my wired one. The WRT54GS ran as an access point. The 1500 does not seem to have that option. I have successfully been able to set up the new router and use it with laptops, ipads, etc. Where I’m running into problems is with my Squeezebox. Although I can see the network and enter a passcode into the Squeezebox, it never connects (the light on the Squeezebox is green (acquiring IP address from network). It never gets beyond this point.
